tldr: i am disappointed with this whole "conclusion" its obvious that its setting up some sort of continuation of the story as it ends on a cliff hanger and i wish they had just put it at the start of the next movie or series if they end up making one

i know that there was a lot of delays in the making of the original series and that this special was meant to be the finale of that season but i was really under the impression that this was supposed to be the ending and commiting 40 minutes to a recap (which i did enjoy ... more than the episode because i had forgotten a lot of content that aired a few months ago) and a honestly sub par episode was more than a little disappointing

this is where ill get into spoiler teritory i think its worth the watch to get the story because i still hold out hope that whatever comes after this is a return to form for the show and not more mediocre stuff like this

there was very little substance in this episode apart from the concept that parallel versions of the people who were saved are brought to the world and dont remember the main cast at all (or something like that i really didnt 100% get it) and also that they were setting up a story where ai has to save neiru?? or find her? or wants to speak to her because she threw her phone away when neiru was going to talk to her?? its really confusing and i dont get it but it wasnt really that satisfying as a special maybe in the context of a second season this couldve been made to work better and i wish they had just done that it didnt add all that much to the first season to have this special tacked on in my opinion

other than that i really liked the art and the soundtrack as these are two aspects where the show didnt falter i think the show still looks beautiful and even though im ragging on the special a lot i think the characters are still very fun to watch and i was still entertained by theim even though this isnt their best

cant wait for more wonder egg i just hope its better than this
