The first anime I ever watched was Shaman King back when i was in high school and i loved it. So much so that because i never had the chance to finish it, I finished it a year later in college because i wanted to see how it turned out. I did not actually become a huge anime fan until about 2011 when i started watching Bleach at night on Adult Swim. At first i would just watch the eps because they were on but finally i started to say "man, this is good, I wanna see all of it". At that time it was in its 14th season, and i spent the next few weeks getting completely caught up. I got to the point were i passed the english versions and continued on in Japanese until i had seen every episode. From there i moved on to other anime, and have completed a total of 16 anime.
I do not read the manga. I have been told many times that most times the manga is better than the anime and although i am an avid reader, having read about 120 novesl in the last year, i refuse to read managa cuz it takes entirely too long with the whole one sentence per page setup. I prefer dubs over subs because i have a huge thing for voices, especially deep voices, and Japanese voices rub my ears the wrong way, no offense intended, i just find their voices very irritating, although i have been known to watch subs if the anime is good enough and i have not choice.
My favorite anime type preference is the hero type which can be found in Bleach, Naruto, Shaman King, D.Gray-man, Fairy Tail, etc. This type encompasses a male, or female but i prefer male, as the lead character who is really strong much to the amazement of those around him and gets stronger over time (Ichigo/Bleach, Naruto/Naruto, Yoh Asakura/Shaman King, Allen Walker/D.Gray-man, Natsu/Fairy Tail).
