Heyy, sorry for the long wait I was super busy the last few days and yes, that WD picture is superb. It really shows how creepy she actually is without being overly in your face with its message.

Oh, yeah she definitely has a very splendid look. Woah, just imagine if she wasn't the absolute head of Homeworld? Can you imagine an even greater or more lustrous being? I also think that she's somewhat tied to the planet itself in one way or another. I would love to get new episodes but we just have to wait ... again.

Woah sounds great! I would love to buy SU merchandise but the shipping etc isn't kind to me :( oh wow that necklace sounds super sweet :O

I live in Southern Germany. A pretty great place actually! (except everything is like super expensive) where are you from?

OMG White Diamond's reveal was so fast and she's so exciting!! I literally loved eveything about her. Her pose, her intriguing voice, the fact that she knew everything about pink's latest play. That was sooooo good. A little creepy might be an understatement. Did you notice that she isn't even greeting blue and pink diamond? Meaning she might be ranked higher than them in the hierarchy.

ahh noo worries. yeah that may have been planned from the beginning.

Gravity Falls is also great! I would rank it in my top 10 western cartoons but it's a bit on the short side episode wise and the first season is rather unlike the second season. I liked the story episodes a lot more than the earlier episodes and I might be hated for this but since I'm a guy I somewhat disliked Mabel and thought she was annoying with her shenanigans. Soos and Stan are great though. It's also quite interesting how everything wraps up and I really enjoy the hidden meanings of some elements only understandable after seeing the entire series. Plus it has might have the greatest opening of all time.

Oh that kinds sucks for me since there are no Hot Topics in my country and they are so expensive when ordering them online :(

The latest episodes were fantastic! Did you see them?

ahaha thank you but it's actually not my birthday. I just chose a random date hehe but my real birthday is coming up though, I'm exactly 35 days older than you

Yeah, same basically. I also didn't start watching from the beginning but I guess the theories and ideas about certain story elements (Garnet, Pearl's past etc.) were all over the place. Just imagine watching Jail Break while your favourite theory slowly falls apart. I had to watch the show once the episode and its song got popular. That's pretty nice of him to recommend such a great show. Never leave him :P

Pearl's existence is literal foreshadowing since real-life pearls are made of different layers ("Just like the shell of a mollusk, a pearl is composed of calcium carbonate in minute crystalline form, which has been deposited in concentric layers"). While I personally agree with your sentiment regarding people calling Pearl salty without realizing the reason why she behaves that way, you can not deny the fact that Pearl appears quite salty in some cases e.g. when she first met Greg or her interactions with the other human characters in the series. I still think she's a well-written, deeply flawed character experiencing the repercussions of her actions and feeling lost without her ... boss.

Ye, same. The first few episodes were kinda ehh but I fell in love with the show very quickly. I consider episodes like Jail Break, Mr.Greg or A Single Pale Rose as absolute great episodes on the same level as GoT or BB's best ones. I just wish there were more shows like that. Gravity Falls is somewhat similar but other than that the amount of cartoons that can be compared to SU are quite non-existent. And woah, you own SU shirts? That's like super cool and I'm totally not jealous. Totally.

I chose to just go with Hachi, because it's way too hard to decide if I don't take relatability into account. She's pretty high up there now in my favorites.
Takumi is a character I can appreciate, because his actions make sense in the context of who he is, but god, do I dislike him as a person. He properly took responsibility and stood with Hachi, when he found out she was pregnant, but the way he then forced her into a decision by calling Nobu was just ugh. Also how he made clear, that his job is always gonna take priority over her and the baby. I guess you can just attribute that to him being bad at expressing himself but he just seems way too cunning, not to say manipulative. Though he does start to act a little different once they've moved in together. But that might just be because he has gotten what he wanted and now has an easier time controlling everything.
I really like the relationship Shin and Hachi have, with Hachi being somewhat of a mother figure for him. Shin is definitely pretty high up there for me as well, when it comes to characters I liked.

That sounds pretty good. I'm planning on watching NGE and Tatami in the near future, might check that out afterwards, since a relaxing show can be pretty nice after some more serious stuff.

Did you start watching the series when it started airing or did you pick it up more recently e.g. when a few seasons were already released? Yup, those were some rather obvious clues in hindsight but a lot of theories were debunked as total malarkey even if they somewhat made sense. Yeah, after the reveal most of the releveant scenes that are seen as foreshadowing can be explained as actual foreshadowing but some moments are quite far-fetched and not related to the twist at all. I especially love Pearl's lyrics in the extended opening and now that we know of her past, everything she said/did seems way sadder now. Most of her dialogue and manners always hinted at a great tragedy in her past and after the episode her mourning almost feels tangible. I wouldn't be in her shoes. I adored everything about her from the beginning since her design kinda resembles Utena characters and her personality always seemed so sweet and caring, maybe even over-protective. I also like the way she interacts with the other characters. She's quite condecending (with a reason) but still friendly towards Greg, caring and loving towards Steven and the gems and respects other characters even if those are not respecting her at all, which shouldn't be that surprising since her role is quite low in the gem society. Honestly, the show is superb.

I liked Reira a lot too. To be honest, it's pretty hard for me to pick my favorite character, since a lot of them were done really well. So I still haven't added a Nana character to my favorites yet.
The ending to the anime felt pretty satisfactory to me and worked well with the core messages of the show, though I am pretty curious to continue the manga at some point. Desperately waiting for new chapters must suck.

Are you enjoying Kobayashi's Dragon Maid? Looks like a pretty cute and relaxing slice of life.
_Ophelia May 22, 2:01 PM
Yeah, Nana was one hell of an experience and just a little bit cathartic.
I'm not really used to anime, that actually portray romantic relationships between adults.
Also Hachi is scarily relatable to me on a personal level, especially when it comes to her relationship with Shouji. That together with the fact, that all the characters feel 'real' and the drama is really nicely done are probably the main reasons why I loved it so much, though the pacing was definitely a little slow at times.
Telmi May 22, 12:08 PM
Well the theory was well known but it was always disregarded and downright ignored. The theory had a lot of foreshadowing though as well as many scenes that make a lot more sense after knowing the reveal.

Pearl is fantastic. She's such a tragic character and her story is so sad. But she still does everything she can to protect and help Steven. <3

I must say you have a good looking profile. Nice job! :D
Telmi May 10, 4:35 PM

I thought your profile picture was inspired by the latest SU episodes (It's definitely not lol) so I made this comment to remind you to watch it.

And yes, Pearl is my favourite too <3
_Ophelia Apr 28, 1:24 PM
Well, now you've just gotta find the time to watch it.
Good luck with that haha.

Devilman tends to be pretty polarizing, that's true.
Since you enjoyed a lot of Yuasa's other works though, there's gonna be things you'll appreciate about it, I'm sure.
Even though it ended up as a 5 for me, there's certain episodes that I think were very well done.
