Note that my rating system, while it may seem extremely complex at first, when you read it and understand the reasoning behind each score it will begin to make a lot more sense, and you may even start to realise how strange it is that this system isn't more widely adopted on this site. Please just read it before judging, and hopefully it will make sense, if you still don't understand it then feel free to drop me a PM and I'll try my best to explain in more detail! To try and make it as clear as possible, I have also made sure to do my best to put the scores in order, from the best score a show can get, a 10, to the worst score a show could get, a 1. To help me decide what rating I should give to a show I like to take a few things into account, including but not limited to: i f I t h i n k t h e s h o w i s g o o d.
It is a 10 its really good. This is the score that I give to anime where, once I've watched them I think back on my viewing experience and then think 'Wow! that was a 10!'
It is a bit worse than a 10 but its better than an 8. I usually give this score to anime that I have watched and think that they deserve a 9.
Its better than a 7 but its worse than a 9. This is an 8, and as such I normally give it to anime that, if I were to score them on a scale of 1-10, I would give them an 8/10.
Its not as good as an 8 but its too good to be a 6. This is a very important score because its what I give to anime that I think are 7/10.
Its not as good as a 7 but its better than a 5. This score is reserved only for the anime that, if I were to rate them from 1-10, I would give them a 6.
Its better than a 4 but its worse than a 6. Another way to think about this score is if you watch something, and then think 'Hmm that show is 2.5/5', then if you do the maths you will find that its the same as 5/10, and so that's the sort of show you would give a 5 to.
Its not as good as a 5 but its better than a 3. A 4 is a score that I give to anime that I think were worse than 5/10, but also better than 3/10. I have chosen this number to represent these shows because if you look at a number line, then the number 4 happens to be slap bang in the middle of 3 and 5. Below is a number line for reference:
Its a bit worse than a 4 but its better than a 2. If 1 was the worst score a show could get, and 10 was the best, then this is the score I would give to shows that were 3s.
Its better than a 1 but not as good as a 3. Again, referring to the idea of the number line I talked about earlier, this is for shows that are better than a 1 but worse than a 3. 2 is the number in-between 1 and 3.
It is a 1 its really bad. Based on the numbers this site allows you to give shows, 1 is the lowest number, so it seemed logical to give shows that are the worst a 1.
To summarise, a 10 is the best score, followed by 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and finally 1, which is the worst score.
Any feedback on my scoring system is always greatly appreciated - I'm always striving to come up with the best possible system so that my opinions (or facts, as I like to call them) can be better understood by anyone who happens to be looking at my profile. Thanks!
Honestly, his bio really says it all, doesn't it? His opinion literally is so much more important than yours it's a wonder you're even allowed to have an opinion. Anyone with less than 70% affinity with him can just get the fuck out. If you ever notice that your opinion is different to his then really you should be kicking yourself for being wrong and immediately change your mind, to be honest. After all:
