Yes, I know the anime. The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat is my favorite anime from 2021. I'm incredibly excited for season 2 and it has the potential to make it into my top 10. 🤩

ah I see, yes that's how most people got into the anime world.
I've never seen all those big anime you mentioned and they didn't really appeal to me.
But Fairy Tail was also one of the anime I watched quite early on in my life. It used to be a lot of fun and I should watch it all over again sometime and then complete it. 😀

Yes, I see, that's how many people rate their anime.
It's hard to say when I started watching anime. I would say around the beginning of 2017, but then really extremely so that from 2018 I completed an anime every day with 12 episodes for about 1.5 years.
How exactly I got into anime is a bit complicated. Mainly through recommendations from people close to me. I couldn't do anything with most of the recommendations, because they were exactly the anime that didn't interest me. That's why I thought for a long time that anime wasn't for me, simply because I hadn't yet found my style.

How was it for you? 😀
Redstart1 Apr 9, 11:46 AM
Definitely. I also noticed that I sometimes perceived anime completely differently to other people I know.

Yes, I totally get what you mean. I like characters like that too.
Solo leveling is an interesting case.
For me, the more popular an anime is, the more likely it is that I won't like it.
That's not a conviction that I hate popular anime, but rather something I've observed. At some point I noticed that I rated an above-average number of popular anime poorly. And this rule is very often confirmed, even if I still give many of them a chance.

That's why I was skeptical about Solo Leveling. The fact that it was dramatic at the beginning fueled my skepticism even more, so I put it off a bit. But when I watched it, I have to say that I really liked it. I even gave it a 10 out of 10 because I had so much fun with it. 😀

Yeah bro, everyone ends up watching a different anime. Because I see something completely different in the same anime than you might. That's why I think it's so great that we have such an incredibly large selection and everyone can watch what they want.

As you say, OP MC anime are exactly my favorite genre. I like to see how the MC are ultra strong or very smart and take the story outside of the box. But sometimes they also just have a relaxed life without much drama and so on. 😄

But I'm glad you got to know another side of anime through my profile. 😃

Yes, we have a similar attitude, but have very different tastes in anime. For example, I didn't like the anime Frieren at all. I'm not a big fan of drama anime at all and it had a lot of it. 😅

I haven't seen My Happy Marriage, but it's cool that the 2nd season is on and you have more to watch.
I'm really looking forward to The Water Magician. The anime is coming in summer and at least according to the description it has the potential to become one of my favorite anime.

I love relaxed isekais and OP MC. And it sounds pretty promising, at least to me. 😂

I've noticed that too. It's actually a trend I appreciate – there are way more sequels coming out now than, about five years ago. Some of them even include a few of my all-time favorite anime. Still, I sometimes miss discovering completely new shows that truly excite me.

After watching so many anime over the years, I’ve gotten a pretty good sense of what I’ll probably like and what I won’t. But if you look at my drop rate, you can tell I still give a lot of series a shot, even if they end up disappointing me. That’s probably made me more critical when it comes to judging anime overall.

I even took the time to go through each year and pick out my favorites, and now I’m starting to add newer shows to the top of my list – ones that have real potential to become great.

Of course, this is just my personal view and perspective, but I do hope at least one of the current options manages to win me over.😀

Are there a few anime this year that you're particularly looking forward to?
Redstart1 Apr 4, 3:55 AM
Thanks for asking Bro. Anime technically it looks pretty sad for me. I'm currently dropping a lot of anime
and am waiting for a banger that I really like again. That's why I sometimes rewatch anime that I rated very well back then.
I hope this year will be better and my dropped rate will go down. 😅
How are things looking for you? 😀

Ah I must of not noticed while looking at the animes we've both watched, Yeah Princess Connect! Re:Dive is also an adaption of a game, not sure if it's canon to it but I loved the anime's artstyle and the waifus have a lovely design, Plenty of it's comedy was pretty funny to me. I watched it last year and I plan to rewatch it soon before starting it's second season
YamiGoldDarkness Jan 19, 10:21 PM
I don't have much for Slice of Life, I see you've already watched Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, There's Nekopara which is adapted from the visual novel but the series isn't canon except for one of the OVA's, Nekopara has it's cute moments but some of the jokes can feel overused.

For comedies: Assassination Classroom, We Never Learn: BOKUBEN, Nourin, Princess Connect! Re:Dive & The Squid Girl

Here's a few more that I consider to be extremely wild or weird lol: The Way of the Househusband, Golden Boy, Kemono Michi: Rise Up & First Love Monster

Comparing our scores on the same shows we've watched you probably won't enjoy many of these which is understandable, I'd agree with some of them 👍
YamiGoldDarkness Jan 18, 7:49 PM
Yep I've done that for my first and second year of being on here and sure, what kind of genre's are you into watching?
YamiGoldDarkness Jan 18, 1:04 PM
Nice, thinking of making a new profile design to set in 3 months to celebrate 3 years on MAL
