I LOVE this series and Yamamori's art so much I use it as inspiration for any development of my own (which you can see on IG @kim_the_one_and_only ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°))

manga so more DRAMA and INNER TURMOIL WOOOOOO Choices man.
It's not complex and it's linear for the most part. The ending will satisfy 50% of the shipping fanbase, as it usually does. I was a part of that 50% this time around.

- Heroine Suzume as well as her two suitors have 'exponential' growth. She has inner turmoil about feelings and conflicts inside that keep her from doing what she wants because MORALS MAN. Teacher has one too cuz OMG she's 16... and Mamuraaaaa is the cliche of OMGAWD girls ew COOTIES to GIVE ME SOME OF DAT ONIGRI SUGAR ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°).
Not one character is hateable (the WHOLE time unless you ship one way then that's fair game). But none are annoying for lengthy periods of time to where their character defines ANNOYANCE.

Before I begin this review, I would like to say that I literally just binge read the whole series, even chapter 52 which updated TODAY. I saw on mangahere that this series was going to end soon, which is did in chapter 48, but I waited it out till now so I can have a fresh perspective on it. I shall avoid major spoilers of course, but I am planning on writing a very lengthy 'rant' blog on this (once I find more time) because I'm not exactly too happy with the story (even though I enjoyed it). So... let's begin.

The plot wasn't too complicated. Romance wise, the story makes it quite linear who ends up with who, but the reoccurring themes about individuality and friendships. I had read through a few forums and this manga was a reoccurring title in which the internet seems to love and adore. Judging the book by it's cover, I automatically assumed ------- Character Section ----------. The overall summary sounded decent enough and I was expecting a SUPER COMPLICATED PLOT. Thank goodness it wasn't.
SOOOOO story wise, if you love brain teasers, a look into life morals, friendships that seem to last, cutesy love and quite a bit of harem with a decent/mediocre complexity rating, try 'Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun.'
= Art =
- The art is lovely. I quite fancy Shoujo manga without the HUGE eyes. The drawings were smooth, the clothing looked original enough to the mangaka's style. Again, absolutely gorgeous. -
= Character =
- JUDGING THE BOOK BY IT'S COVER, I AUTOMATICALLY ASSUMED... (without reading the summary) that Shizuku and Yoshida were delinquents considering she has a dog collar around him and he looked menacing enough. I was wrong of course.
I'm picky when it comes to manga series that expect me to take hours out of my time to read. Usually once I read the first chapter, I either continue or I stop right there. I considered stopping for this manga. The characters to me, at that point in time which was roughly 3 hours ago, had no potential to grow in an exponential way for the next 51 chapters. "Why's she so picky?" you may ask. Like video games, I like spending money on one game with replay value so I can get my $60 worth as opposed to spending money on multiple cheap games that I'll only play once. I've read a lot of manga already so now I'm just being picky on what I want to spend on leisure time reading.
Back to the characters. Shizuku is a cold person who is more aware of some emotions around her. She's straight forward and in the beginning likes to put a distance between her and other people. Seemingly enough, all she did was study as opposed to having fun. I found her character to be bland. She does however develop once their social group expands, but she wasn't my most favorite character.
Yoshida (Haru, either or) was a character I didn't like. People who have read this series would be all "WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU HE'S ONE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS AND IS SO SWEET ASDFGHJKL!" His character was flawed from the beginning being that he is a violent person to start out. However, in a few chapters it all changes and he becomes less violent and less scarred and it's as if that Haru who had potential for psychological development never existed. He was a sweetheart with a blunt mouth, but after the change from delinquent to puppy, his character stayed linear for the rest of the series.
A character that I did like a lot and was shipping with Shizuku, like, REALLY hard, did not get a fair trial. Yamaguchi (Kenji) was a pretty forgettable character in the beginning. I didn't start liking him until 1/3 of the way through because he got no page time before that. I thought he was just a side character (or an extra) because of his lack of presence in the beginning, but once Robic(k?)o, the mangaka, changed the pace of the story by having him come out as "I MAY SEEM LIKE A JERK AND I AM BUT I REALLY AM A PRACTICAL AND SWEET GUY AT HEART," I was sold. I wish the ending after the official end did him justice, but alas, it was not meant to be.
Lastly, I'd like to point out that there are a lot of "supporting" characters that I didn't fine memorable. They felt more like extras added into the plot for the convenience of relevant characters. For example, (tiny spoiler, but it doesn't affect anything to me, but still) one of Yamaguchi's hommies just happens to own/have access to a 'resort' (more like a cabin in the woods to me) which, again, was convenient for the relevant characters to deepen their friendship. -
= Enjoyment =
- Considering I binge read all 52 chapters, I'd say i enjoyed it quite a bit, even if I wasn't took happy about the ending and character development.-
= Overall =
- RECOMMENDED. Very sweet, cute, funny and it puts a smile on your face. (:

- So... Hibino Tsubaki's and Tsubaki Kyouta's love starts when Hibino cuts Kyouta's hair b/c it's too long and she wanted to get back at him for being rude.
That is a great reason for chopping someone's hair off. Congrats Hibino! You have no common sense and now a bunch of Kyouta fan girls are gonna want to chop off your head and pit it on a stake! :) But seriously, that's how love starts. She fixes his hair by making it shorter, he kisses her and say he'll make her his. Great.
The rest

of the manga is basically the results of Tsubaki and Tsubaki hooking up. No spoilers there. It's WAY too obvious. Plus it's a Shoujo manga and whenever a guy says "I'll make you my woman," you know they're gonna eventually hook up.
So yeah... the plot is basically every little drama that goes on b/n Tsubaki and Kyouta's fan girls b/c Tsubaki isn't fit for him and those fan girls are just sluts who want to get in his pants.
Oh, plus there's a lot of jealously and shit b/c Tsubaki is one jealous bitch. She cries a lot and has all this emotional conflict in her head which makes me question her mental state [and that line sounds like a broken record now]. So yeah... I absolutely despise this bullshit of a plot. -
= Art =
- For those who have read my previous reviews, you must be thinking, "Why didn't she give it a 9 or 10? It's not old schooled." For starters, I HATE anime/manga characters with huge ass eyes. REALLY?! I understand that it's the mangaka's style and all and I shouldn't be dissing it off, but seriously. Huge ass eyes ARE NOT CUTE. Ex:) Shugo Chara. NOT CUTE AT ALL.
BUT since I can't draw better. It's an 8. -
= Character =
- Hibino Tsubaki is USELESS and DEAD WEIGHT. Seriously, all she does is cry and through tantrums and WANT SEX. WTF?! She's a useless slut apparently. A jealous, useless slut.
Kyouta... well... I can't HATE him, but I can't really like him either. But really, he's still cool. We're all cool. :) Hibino just needs to get out of Kyouta's life. She's a selfish, manga bitch. I wouldn't care if she got run over by a car and died. WAIT. No...
I wouldn't give a shit about her even if she stepped on a lego piece! That's how much I hate her. Really. She's a horrible representation of females. -

= Story =
- This is the story right here: Girl falls for Satan who is sexually attracted to the girl who gets too involved with her to the point where an angel tries to get her away from Satan. That's it. The plot is basically the idea of what happens to Miu b/c she's involved with Satan. I really didn't like it.
And yes, I did read ALL the chapters. I barely made through those appalling chapters. So the story is just... just bad. I wish the mangaka had put some more thought into this

manga. The idea is quite nice, but how it played out throughout the story was absolutely dreadful! -
= Art =
- I've said this a lot, but I usually give art a 9 or 10. But I gave this one an 8. However, this is solely based on my preference and logic. Usually I just go plain common sense, but the mangaka's art style is quite similar to old schooled manga which isn't my cup of tea. Maybe it's b/c I'm used to modern manga styles, but I generally don't like these types of art. However, since I can't draw better, the score will remain at an 8. -
= Character =
- Comedy is not a genre in this manga, but I really laughed my fucking ass off while reading this. What the characters say and do are HILARIOUS. I'm not laughing at the characters themselves. This is basically what I laughed at:

> Satan's cheesy lines (dramatized by the art)
> Miu's stupidity
> The amount of sex Miu and Satan have
> The fact that Satan fucked Miu into front of ------- *spoiler*---------
> The dramatized affects the art gives to every undramatic situation
I didn't care for the characters. Miu is literally one of those Shoujo heroines that can't do shit and just depend on that one guy (or guys) that are there doing whatever she wants. She's useless and yet there are these people who pursue her! It's absurd. Satan says he loves her and shit, but honestly, he's just playing along for her body (even though there isn't much...)
Satan himself is also a boring character. I don't like him. I don't like any of the characters. I just read it b/c I could. So yeah... horrid.... just.... bad. -
= Enjoyment/Overall =
- Didn't enjoy this manga at all. Got a lot of good laughs, but I really, really feels disgust towards this manga. I really recommend it for the laugh, but if you don't like humor, don't even try to read this. Also, read this and yell Satan when he appears to save the day. It'll make you laugh harder. -

= Story =
- This story is fairly slow. The development is slow. I'm not one to like slow plots, but 'Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume' is a definite exception. At the end of the story (82 chapters + side stories), the mangaka says so herself that the development was meant to be slow which makes me love it even more b/c she knew what she was doing.
So the plot is just the 'go with the flow' type of plot (Fairy Tail). Uru starts working at Bouheur cafe along side Nakamura Ichiro and Shindou Satsuki. Things just go with the flow from then on out. The plot is

pretty basic, though there's not really a solid plot to begin with, so you don't need to think much with this Shoujo manga. So yeah... simplistic, yet quite enjoyable. -
= Art =
- I absolutely LOVE Matsuzuki Kou's art style. ALL her males characters are either extremely cute, drop dead gorgeous, or both. If you look at her different outfits for each character, you can see her range of ideas as well. The reason I gave art a 9 though is b/c most of he characters look the same. I mean, some make sense. Esp. if they're related (brother, cousin, father, mother, etc.) But either way, most of them look too similar and there isn't really anything differentiating them so you wouldn't be able to tell the difference if 2 similar characters were wearing the same outfit. But I really love her art. So as a manga reader, I give her a 9. As a person who is envious of her skills, I give her a 10.(But the final score is a 9.) -
= Character =
- There are quite a bit of characters in here. However, you have a real connection to the majority of the characters to you can remember they're names pretty easily. The development, again, is rather slow. Uru is slow. She's thick headed, naive and ignorant. I use all those words to describe people like Inoue Orihime, but I really like Uru. She can get a bit nosy here and there, but she's really likeable. Shindou... oh my good God. You can't dislike the man in any way. You can't help, but love him. Ichiro is the oddest of them all, but of course that makes him the easiest to love.
There is one thing about this manga that you may want to know.
Uru literally has pursuers EVERYWHERE. There are... 4 people who love her (in the romantic sense) and there are the others who love her (in the 'I want you to marry _______' or friendship sense).
The characters' back stories are also quite tear jerking. After you learn a few things about each character and then there's a side story about them, you can't help, but tear up. I've read this manga 3 or so times and I always tear up each time. They impact me even after a few weeks of reading it. So again, slow character development, but it works. The characters are lovable and adorable and ... oo-la-la. I really love them all. -
= Enjoyment/Overall =
- I was a little scared when I first read this. The genres are comedy, romance, Shoujo and a few others, but those are the main ones. Romance in Shoujo mangas are... questionable in terms of reality. This manga was slow, hence emphasizing key points in human interaction and emotions. Romance played a role here and there and the comedy was everywhere.
I obviously enjoyed this very much and I would STRONGLY recommend this to anyone who needs a good read to kill time. Really, really loved this.
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention (if you've read this far); the ending is sweet, but there isn't really much closure. The mangaka says a few things about the characters, but i kind of wish the ending was similar, or gave more insight into the future, like the ending of Fruits Basket. though the ending was adorable, I still have so many lingering questions and thoughts. -

= Story =
- I was absolutely OBSESSED with Bleach. Some manga readers often avoid mainstream mangas b/c they're mainstream. But Bleach is definitely a must read manga.
So anyways, you guys already get the idea. Kurosaki Ichigo meets a Shinigami named Kuchiki Rukia. She gives her powers to him, etc. etc. You get it. That's the base of the manga.
The first plot to me was called the 'Aizen Arc.'
The actual arcs are:
- Agent of the Shinigami
- Soul Society
- Arrancar Arc
- The Lost Substitute Shinigami
...
- Final Arc: The Thousand Year Blood War
The first 3 arcs (421 chapters I think) are what I consider the 'Aizen Arc.' Everything that Ichigo + friends did was b/c of Aizen. The reason why Ichigo met Rukia was Aizen. The reason why Ichigo exists is technically b/c of Aizen (if you've been caught up with the manga, you'll know why). Literally everything connects to Aizen somehow b/c it's all his doing. He planned everything from before the beginning to the end.
The Lost Substitute Shinigami arc is... rather slow, but it really gives you a sense of Soul Society of substitute Shinigami in general. And now we're at the final arc. So many secrets are being revealed in this that I was literally checking MangaHere every 4-5 hours to see if the new chapter had been updated. I was miserable waiting to find out what happens next. I am now as well. Since this is the final arc, Kubo really does have to reveal every question in the manga, but there are so many so this arc may be as long as the first.
The story is easy flowing, though not consistent in Substitute arc, but all in all, suspenseful and jaw dropping. Really, really great story, mainstream or otherwise. -
= Art =
- If you look up demotivational posters, there is one where the main Bleach characters from the first several chapters to the current them now in the manga. It shows how Kubo's art has changed throughout the entire manga. And as in all my other reviews, I can't draw any better, you probably can't draw better. We probably wouldn't be reading it unless the art was decent and/ore great. Art is a 10. -
= Character =
- Kurosaki Ichigo may be... hot tempers, arrogant, hot and the main character, but he isn't my favorite in the series. I find his character to be the archetypal heroine. Something is threatening the world/his friends or family and he must get stronger b/c he just got beat... then he fights again and wins some new power that of which he loses at the end. That's it.
Kuchiki Rukia... I REALLY love her. Her drawings, her personality, and the fact that she can defend herself. She is one of the rare female characters that don't cry, but instead defend themselves and others. Plus she helps Ichigo with his problems. She does more to help him than those people who may think they're helping him, but are just dead weight. *cough* Orihime *cough*
Inoue Orihime is literally that one character in any Shounen manga that just get in the way. She's useless! She may have 'powers' and shit, but she only got them b/c her brother gave her those pins. If he didn't, she'd be long dead. I really dislike her. "Kurosaki-kun!" this and "Kurosaki-kun!" that. SHUT. UP. YOU. STUPID. WOMAN.
There are a lot of other characters, but those by far are ones I consider to be 'main' enough to talk about. Though I should say this, most of the male characters are DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. Ulquiorra Sciffer, Grimmjow Jaggerjack, Kuchiki Byakuya, Ichimaru Gin; Love you all and many others. -
= Enjoyment/Overall =
- It's a bit obvious that I enjoyed the manga. I've said everything I needed to say (minus the spoilers). Totally recommend this manga, mainstream or not. A very interesting, suspenseful read.-

= Story =
- I have to say, it's rare to find a plot where a girl goes all out to get revenge on some guy she thought she loved (in manga that is). Fuwa betrays Mogami who then does a 180 on him. That's basically it. The story itself has different events, but they all somehow connect to the fact that Mogami is out for revenge by becoming more popular than Fuwa. It's basic enough to understand the characters at least which some times can get out of hand in Shoujo mangas.
HOWEVER, I may love the story, but only certain parts. Skip Beat starts off
...
slow. REALLY, REALLY slow so the point where you literally have to stop reading. I honestly only read the series b/c I wanted to see what Fuwa and Mogami would do next if they were to meet. I don't care much for anything else b/c I feel that the pace is inconsistent and there's absolutely nothing to keep you reading. Mogami and Fuwa have a connection and their actions are what keep me reading. So yeah... the plot itself is rather inconsistent to my discontentment. -
= Art =
- Nakamura Yoshiki has a very unique style. She doesn't tend to... sharpen the chin's of her male characters. So their chins are basically... a parabola. Compared to her previous work 'Tokyo Paradise,' her art has changed significantly. But when you see how she draws their side profiles, it's... different than how you see her characters front and center. Another thing that makes her art style unique if the ratio of torso to legs. When you look at a full scale drawing of someone, you can see that their legs are incredibly long and their torso is literally half the size of their legs. Some times it does look really... out of place, but her art in general in amazing. -
= Character =
- I absolutely love Mogami. In the world of Shoujo manga, the female heroine is almost always useless in some degree or another. Mogami is one of those rare female heroines that don't cry about everything and who actually are able to defend themselves. Plus she has these mini demon Mogami's who defend her. They represent her thoughts.
Skip Beat fans, or the majority of them anyways, LOVE Tsuruga Ren. He's handsome, an actor and a model. It's also been hinted that he's an American with problems. People pair him with Mogami as well b/c a) ___________________ and b) _______________________ (spoilers). But I don't like him. It's not b/c I'm a Fuwa - Mogami fangirl, but b/c he's not my type of ideal character. He's that one well known guy who hides his true feelings (not enough to call him tsundere though) and who is the ideal guy for every girl. I don't like him as a character even after learning about his back story.
People will hate me for saying this, but I like Fuwa a lot more than Tsuruga. He's an arrogant douche who... you can love and hate. Again, the chemistry (if you can call it that) b/n him and Mogami is enticing. It makes you wonder what they'll do next time when they meet. Or how far Mogami will go to surpass Fuwa. But Fuwa doesn't get as much 'screen' time as everyone else... which saddens me. But he is a decent douche and if Mogami isn't as thickheaded as she is then the story would've turned in my favor.
Note: Mogami is a girl motivated by hatred. She literally has common sense, but lack any sort of emotion when it comes to Fuwa. She's naturally naive and ignorant, but not like Misao (Black Bird). Also, she's fairly gullible. -
= Enjoyment/Overall =
- The series is still fairly decent. I am still reading it now, but the past chapters... well.... I had to force myself to read them. The story is really slow at this point. 'Why not drop it?' you may ask. Chapter 199 was just updated and after going through all those chapters, I'm not just going to drop it. This manga is a 'droppable' manga so if you don't like it the first few chapters, I HIGHLY encourage you to force yourself to read it a little more. It starts getting more interesting around chapters 20 and 30. -

= Story =
- 'Byousoku 5 Centimeter' is one of those animes that appear, only for a short moment in your life, to tell you a story of two simple lovers; about the time they have together. They rip and tear your heart out causing you to collapse in tears as you watch them struggle to be happy. It's a basic plot and yet it can bring a grown man to tears. (I had my 19 year old male friend watch it with me. He was in tears which is RARE.)
There are 3 parts to the movie, each 20 minutes long making the
...
movie a little over an hour. The first part is 'Ōkashō (Cherry Blossom)' which is the intro to the story. Tohno and Shinohara quickly become friends before Shinohara moves away to Tochigi. They start writing letters to each other, but ultimately began to drift apart. Part 2 is 'Cosmonaut.' This part is from Sumida's perspective. She's in love with Tohna, but he obviously is still longing for Shinohara. She eventually gets heart broken in their last year of high school. Part 3 is 'Byousoku 5 Centimeter.' This part shows us Tohno in his adult years (2007). He's gotten nowhere in life. He drinks and he plans on quitting his job. His ex-girlfriend is included in this part. if you pay attention to how she acts and what she says, you can pretty much understand how Tohno feels. The ending was... very... simplistic yet it gave us (my friend and I)... closure (I have a limited vocab.)
As you can see, that's basically it. A very basic plot with a fairly complex moral. I really loved this movie. There's not a lot of romance so there isn't cheesy, lovey-dovey shtick happening in this. Life is too complex so having a simplistic anime that makes you look at reality differently really... makes life more enjoyable. -
= Art =
- This movie has OUTSTANDING art. However, I gave it a 9 due to that fact that I can't give it all a 10 and that the character's animations were rough in some places which made everything else in the anime... shaky. If you go to ZeroChan.net and type 'Byousoku 5 Centimeter', you will see why the art is breathtaking. -
= Sound =
- The music in this anime is absolutely astounding. The theme of the movie is 'One More Time, One More Chance' by Masayoshi Yamazaki. This song represents the whole movie, esp. Tohno Takaki. It explains his emotions and at times it seems that the movie revolves around that one song. The soundtrack is also spectacular. Words really can't describe it.
The voices of the characters fit them REALLY well. They're voices voice the characters thoughts and it puts more into the characters themselves. (I'm talking subbed guys. Never dubbed in my anime review). -
= Character =
- You really connect to each and every character [of significance] in this movie. When Sumida cries, you cry with her. When Tohno and Shinohara part, you may be literally yelling "Tohno-kun!" I tend to not get this... emotional towards anime b/c a) I rarely watch it and b) it's an escape from reality and yet this movie really represented how cruel/harsh reality is. The characters are just there to show us how bad things can get. And yet they also represent the change in how you perceive it. -
= Enjoyment/Overall =
- It's obvious that I enjoyed this series. The ratings and my blabbering say it all. What more needs to be said? Nothing. -

- These stories are ones I tend to read for the sake of curiosity. Sumi decides to marry Souichiro b/c she needs money to support her brother and younger siblings. He agrees due to the fact that he needed to marry someone before a certain deadline to get the presidency to his grandfather's (I think) company. So Sumi is learning how to act ladylike b/c she's pretending to be some aristocrat from another part of Japan. She marries Souichiro even though she fell in love with Nozomu. basically it. It's a simple, yet enticing plot that males you want to finish the manga regardless of whether or not you like it. So yeah, very basic plot with great suspense. Perfect for 56 or so chapters. -
= Art =
- As for any of my reviews, art always gets a 10 b/c we probably can't draw better and most of us probably wouldn't be reading a manga where the art is so bad you can't identify who is who. -
= Characters =
- I honestly don't care much for the characters. I'm not as... sympathetic/empathetic towards them as I had hoped. Sumi is one of the characters that just dead weight and is easily manipulated by others. She has obvious good intentions unlike other female heroines, but she's so... gullible to the point where I literally yell at the scream asking why she's so ignorant and naive. Souichiro is also quite gullible. He's arrogant and naive. There's not really much you can say about it. Nozomu... the only thing I can about him (without spoiling anything) is that he becomes... mentally unstable. Not psychotic in that sense, but just... unstable. -
= Enjoyment/Overall =
- Again, not a fan of the characters per say, but the plot is fairly enticing. So overall enjoyment of the series would be a 7. And yes, this is a manga I would recommend to Shoujo readers. -

= Story =
- Honestly, there isn't really a story. There isn't a solid plot at all. Fairy Tail's 'plot' just goes from one arc to another. Each arc is basically "someone/something/the guild/the world is in danger of Jellal, Phantom Guild, etc. and Fairy Tail (or members of the guild) ALWAYS has something to do with it and so they try to save _________"
Each arc is really nice. So I like the fact that there's not really a solid plot, but a go with flow time of thing. It's rather nice. -
= Art =

= Character =
- I'm not really sure where I can start with the characters. There isn't really a main character. Some characters show up here and there so each character literally has the same amount of 'screen' time. However, when Lucy is one of the first introduced in the series which made me think she was the main character. A lot of characters that are not introduced in the beginning end up being one of the main characters later in the series. But based on main characters in general, Natsu Dragneel has to be the main MAIN character. Due to the fact that he's one of the first to be introduced and the fact that he's literally the only character that says cheesy lines before beating the shit out of the antagonist. There are other characters who do that too, but Natsu has done it the majority of the time.
With Fairy Tail characters, the development is pretty good considering the fact that there are quite a bit of characters. You know little about some and a lot about others, but in the end you actually care for them all. The connections and conflicts b/n characters is also quite nice. For example, Gajeel and Levy have an indirect relationship and these types of mini side relationships make you want to keep reading to see where all the relationships go. And with Shounen mangas, you have the fans pairing up characters now which shows how well the mangaka did in making the audience connect to the characters. -
= Enjoyment/Overall =
- All in all, the manga is pretty good. I think Fairy Tail is in its final arc now which makes me kinda sad which is something that doesn't happen with Shounen mangas for me. I love the characters and they're also very well drawn. I have also read "Rave Master" which was another manga by Mashima Hiro. So it was rather fun having some similar characters added into Fairy Tail. So I'd be reading and then I'm all, "Oh! _______ is ________ from Rave Master!" So yeah... still enjoying the series. Totally recommended. -
