If it's the latter, how do you go about it? Do you try to come up with a wholly new power/transformation system, or do you just want to write something with character drama?
I like to write myself, and, while I'm not a Magical Girl fan, I have had it greatly impact my life to the point I'm still willing and wanting to discuss it in depth with someone passionate about it. I'm also a creature of passion, so I love to see and gauge others' passions as well. Also, if you can actually write AND draw your own work, then I'm super jealous. I'm not an artsy person, so I can only really write.
Anyone who can draw from imagination has an asset they shouldn't squander and anyone who can draw their own writing, definitely has a lot of untapped potential!

oh and speaking of Machikado Mazoku from last time, I found the first three manga volumes! been excited to read it ever since watching the anime 2 years ago, hope the original manga lives up to my hype

...hmmm... considering your list, I think you might be interested in Machikado Mazoku, also known as The Demon Girl Next Door! It's a magical girl + slice of life show about this demon girl who grows demonic features and has to defeat a magical girl for the sake of breaking her family's curse. It's a fairly wholesome show with a very cute and colorful color scheme, and I think you will enjoy watching it a lot if you love Lucky Star!
