Chainsaw Man (Anime) add
I liked manga better, but anime still good though.

Some jokes, some transitions, and some fore-shadowing is completely fumbled in the translation of medium. Sure different mediums of the same story are gonna give different impressions and that's fine, but when those impressions fall flat that's still an L.

Sound is superb, characters are enjoyable, pacing is decent, and the animation mostly is fantastic.

Listen, I know Mappa and probably almost all animation studios in the world suck ass when it comes to paying their animators fairly, but that doesn't mean they haven't mastered the art of producing great quality animation for minimal price.

All in all a certified ...

Punch Line (Anime) add
Mixed Feelings
I tried to watch Punch Line 4 times, 3 of which I didn't get past the first episode because it's pretty boring. I was finally bored enough to get trough the whole thing so now I can tell you that, it actually gets better towards the end.

Don't get me wrong, this is not a great show, but it's watchable. There's some slightly amuzing moments and honestly fairly interesting plot, altough a bit convoluted.

If you're gonna watch Punch Line do it when you can pay some amount of attention but don't wanna turn your brain off completely.
Not recommended, but also not completely trash.

Perfect Blue (Anime) add
Perfect Blue follows the life of a Pop Idol as she makes a career change into acting instead. As she goes through this change, events in her personal life cause her to become distressed and lose grip of reality. Through this lense, events are presented as being both parts of her acting career as well as her personal life and she starts wondering which days are acted and which days are lived.

With great transitioning where the viewer never knows if a scene is from her actual life or from the role she's acting in for her work, this film is a superb feat of directing ...

For a short explanation of what Legend of the Galactic Heroes is:
If you have patience, it's an interesting anime with thought behind the plot.
If you aren't patient, it's an at times slow moving space opera with dated animation.

This show definitely inspired Code Geass. Watching this show you recognize much of the plot architechture and character relationships. For example you will notice that two characters where "melded" into Suzaku as they fill the same purpouse in this show as he did in Geass. And there are many more parallells like that.
That said you might not like this just because you like Code Geass. Galactic Heroes is ...

Mixed Feelings
Jujutsu Kaisen isn't a great show. It's poorly directed with predictable tropes and extremely repetitive fights.

TLDR note: I do not hate this show, imo if you like this show more than other shounen that's just prefference. I also had high expectations which affected my enjoyment.
This is a good show to watch if you're new to anime, or if you're a sucker for shounen.
Skip it if you only want great shounen.

Stuff: If I wanted to watch characters go on and on about how they're so much stronger than each other, and get bombarded with ridiculous in-house refferences for power I'd re-watch Bleach or Dragon Ball. In ...

Mixed Feelings
Okay, short review, I can do this.

So, if you've seen Tensura and liked that you'll like this. This is a better Isekai than Tensura. Why am I talking about Tensura? Because Shield Hero fails me in much the same ways.

The characters are bland, boring, and nothing but caricatures. The only character whos even remotely a real character is the main character and boy is he relatable. That's also all he is, relatable. In fact he's so relatable that he isn't relatable, because he's also retarded. The main character is a manchild who thinks he's better than everyone else.

This show is a powerfantasy for people who ...

It's bad, don't watch it.

I can make a very good comparison with videogames. Some people like to play on super easy-mode, some people like to play games where everything just happens with minimal challenge, some people like to play games where you don't have to think. If you enjoy these types of games you might enjoy Tensura.

Now let's break it down.
The characters are incredibly boring, they're probably the most cardboard-cut-out I've ever seen. They don't have emotions, only 2 and a half facial expressions which are "ah this enemy is strong" and "I'm so glad I'm serving Rimuru"; and sometimes they are a little sad ...

This is a completely average show. Unless you are into exactly what this show offers you wont be impressed.
The characters might have more to them than meets they eye at first, but it's hard to sympathise with them because of all the unnatural dialouge. It's common for Japanese people to point things out, but this is just lazy directing. Eventually you will feel something, but that's just because you are bombarded with SADNESS and RELATABLE PAIN. Which is not a good as actually relatable characters imo.

Great directors can tell you everything you need to know in a scene without a spoken word. In this show ...

The entire series is one long flashback. I hate this specific narrative device just as much now as when i first encountered it in Tenjou Tenge, but I like this series despite the way it cucks you in the beginning.
Give it a go, just don't expect to get to know the guy you first think is the main character, he's actually a side character.

This would be my complaint; you don't get to know anything about him, he might as well be a piece of smiling cardboard. His achievements alienate me somewhat from him, because the rest of the series continue to point out the ...

Made in Abyss
12/10
This is to anime what "Name of the Wind" is to fantasy books.

-Would give up my surface life for eternal adventure anyday erryday
-All the characters are best character
-Just the right amount of pee and blood

Don't be fooled by the chibi artstyle, there's blood pouring out of peoples eyes, and so much lovely despair and chaos and existential questions and shit.
Of course it's also absolutely lovely at times.
They eat a lot of meat, it's like they've never heard of a balanced diet and the dangers of malnutrition. And there has to be edible plants if there are edible animals. Get yo vitamins and minerals ...
