Red Eyes are one of mine most favorite mangas. The most outstanding thing in it is amount of work done to create and describe the world, it's political and historical background. And it's very realistic in description of military, it's command structure and equipment. Only SAA are new, but they are working on it (in real life).
The weakest aspect of the manga is it's characters and story. They are very good, but most people we get focus on are 'elite of the elite supermen''. Until vol 9 we got single individuals, very strong, but believable. After that author is droping in one after another

This is one of the few mangas that I can describe as perfect. It's realistic with little touch of very hard SF. There are no idiotic ideas about astronaut recruitment. There is hard work, brutality of life, death, and yet it's still light and funny.
This manga is must read for everyone for everyone who likes topics of space and space exploration.

This is based on 10 chapters, but I already have some thoughts on this manga.
Till 8th it went close to the original, with minor modification and thread grabbing from later books, but 9 and 10 made me want to strangle the mangaka with barbed wire. Books, especialy first, are well thought and written, but... My heart and brain are in pain. YOU DON'T THROW OWN IDEAS INTO STORY YOU ADAPT!!!

I really enjoyed the first Last Exile. It was a great story that hold me till the end. I didn't expect the sequel to be made, but I was exited when I heard the news. With no less excitement I sat and watched the first episode. Now, after 19 episodes I finally decided to write few words of opinion about the Last Exile Fam the Silver Wing.
In general I'm really satisfied. The new world we get to see is interesting and the story develops nicely. Old characters from the LE like Dio and Tatiana are present and have they roles in the new story. ... |
