Witch from Mercury is definitely a Gundam anime that exists. Suletta was easily the weakest part because she didn’t start to lose until the last quarter of the series and by then was made into such a Purity Sue, that it was basically impossible for her to suffer any major losses. deals with bad things like they’re just minor bumps in the road and disturbingly never gets legitimately angry with anyone or anything. While no one is saying she needs to suffer, the fact remains that Suletta got the big happy family ending only after having to face the danger of the Data Storm ONCE and surpassed every other pilot on her first try.
The romance is bare minimum with Suletta acting more like a puppy that Miorine occasionally pets. Said romance is also hypocritical because the show has a not-so-subtle theme of kids giving their controlling Boomer parental figures the middle finger as they do their own thing, yet the arranged marriage subplot established by Miorine’s father gets a pass.
Supporting characters outside of Earth House suffer from looking way too alike, not helped by the vast majority of them being cheerleaders for the main pretty boys, so you have to remember who’s siding with who. Look at Renee, Felsi and Sophie, or Henao, Norea and Sabina, or Petra and Ireesha or Belmaria and Feng Jun and remind yourself that these are all different characters. Now put them all in space suits and suddenly you’re mixing up your blondes and you’re more focused on figuring out which girl is screaming to save Lauda than whether he survives or not.
If you should watch this at all, watch it for Guel, the only character who gets a goddamn character arc and is a better person at the end of the show because basically everyone else is defined by one trait and stick to that trait throughout the show.

Talk about a tone shift towards the end. I know people hate the comparison, but all I could think about while watching this show is how I could have been watching season 2 of Yona of the Dawn, only to remember that there is no season 2. I went into this show hoping it could at least give me something similar to enjoy and it honestly had that at first until the story took a dramatic turn and devolved into “Fena does amazing things because ancestors, please stand in awe” the series.

pirates’ names. Most of their personalities were one-note and every single one of them, with the initial exception of Shitan, were there to bask in Fena’s presence. And I swear, this show just straight up forgot they had a dog.
Like others have said, this show really needed 24-episodes. Some of the best material was in those earlier episodes when the characters were sailing the seas and had adventures in various ports. The ending, as rushed as it was, was somewhat open-ended with room for a season 2. As much as I didn’t enjoy this show, a season 2 would absolutely help these puddle-deep characters.

I came into this show expecting a bloody twist on Momotaro and the characters learning more about these abilities, but instead I got Race Relations the Anime with Yangire Faces.
Let’s address the elephant in the room, this show aired out of order. While it would be unfair to suggest my lack of care for these characters came from the shoddy airing structure, I feel like even if I watched this show the right way, I still wouldn’t care.

plan where she goes Spooky Eye just enough to bring them to Death’s Door where she’ll talk-no-jutsu them literally to death. Meanwhile Mikoto, the blue-haired lad slaughters a bunch of Oni and makes a blood-splattered smirk that lost its touch when he did it the last 3 episodes. He and Sally cross paths from time to time where nothing really happens despite the two clearly being connected. All edge aside, Mikoto was a far more interesting character. I don’t think anyone will remember Sally aside from her huge rack and her world’s tightest pants that the camera will almost egregiously focus on every episode. The only other character more boring than her would probably be Hawthorne who I swear was a generic background character who tripped into the show.
Visually, the show is on the lower end. Not off-model lower end, but not much to look at. Lots of “1-2 characters in open fields” scenes and non-humans that conveniently speak telepathically so the mouths don’t have to move.
Overall, this was the worst kind of bad anime; a boring one that not even Frau could save.

Otome game adaptations tend to get a bad rap and I'm sure tons of people wrote this one off as another Brothers Conflict, Amnesia or shoot, even Diabolik Lovers (which is actually a guilty pleasure of mine). And the MC of this show not having a name certainly gives off that vibe at first glance.
But I was pleasantly surprised by this show. It definitely wasn't great, but certainly not worthy of being thrown onto the pile of crappy Otome adaptations. And the biggest reason for that, to me, is the MC herself. The show shockingly passes the Bechdel Test and the MC actually does

things for her own reasons.
Of course, it wouldn't be an Otome without some pretty boys and while they certainly were pretty, I found myself confusing Victor and Lucien quite a few times. All of the boys had their time to...basically put their hands on the MC and whisper sweet words of devotion to her, all while using their magical, if generic superpowers to protect her from shady guys while she tries to uncover the mystery of her memory loss and her father's death.
Overall, I found this show to be better than what it could have been. It looked fine, it sounded fine, the characters were generic but I don't believe that should mean "bad" . It's no Next Life as a Villainess and definitely no Yona of the Dawn, but I still enjoyed what I saw.

As someone who's worked with animation, I just couldn't thoroughly enjoy this one without feeling weird seeing these high schoolers make feature-quality animation in such a short amount of time. They handwave how tired these girls are and it makes me feel sad that the real life animation industry, ESPECIALLY the Anime industry, preys on people with this passion to work long hours on pretty pieces for very little pay.

issues, these things were nothing but minor speed bumps in this show, so it got kinda boring to tune in every week knowing that nothing bad or at least realistic is going to happen during the mayhem that is production.
The characters were charming though. I liked how they went with a non-standard design for these girls. They're not super cute, but not totally ugly and FINALLY, we have skirts that actually cover things.
The music got annoying. They played the same songs for the same scenes over and over again and if I hear that yodeling song again when a character gets an idea, I'm gonna scream.
If you just want to kick back and watch a love letter to animation, you'll have a good time with Eizouken. But if you even have an inkling of how this stuff really works, you'll probably still enjoy it for the sketches and animation facts, but your suspension of disbelief will be tested. Do these girls not have other classes to attend?
