Hi! I just saw your comment on Junji Ito's page, and I wanted to suggest you a few Junji Ito manga that would be a great start for a new reader of his:

1. Shiver (this is a great place to start as it's 9 stories picked by the man, himself.. and you can find this collection easily online and in most stores that sell manga)
2. Tomie (several short stories showing the decline of a girl who has regenerative abilities and the devastation she brings to those around her)
3. Uzamaki (a psychedelic trip of massive proportions when it's discovered that spirals are twisting the landscapes, altering perceptions, and even contorting limbs in a town obsessed with the phenomenon)
4. Junji Ito's Cat Diary: Yon & Mu (a different approach as this is Junji Ito's autobiography about when he was first moving in with his then fiance and adjusting to life with cats as a dog person.. it's actually really good, and a lot more light-hearted, but with the same surreal and terrifying imagery of his horror work)

If you like his works, again, this is just a short starter list, then I'd definitely take a look at his other work. The man mostly does short stories, and so it can be a little intimidating seeing all of the collections available, but it also means that there's several bite-sized stories you can enjoy! Since it's less time consuming to read certain stories of his (Tomie and Uzamaki, just as a disclaimer, are some of his longer stories), it's easier to jump right in.

Another suggestion, too, if you end up liking his work, is Dementia 21 by Shintaro Kago. It's absurd, but less horrifying. You get some pretty messed up imagery, but for the most part, it was a fun ride where you can just shut off your brain and enjoy the insanity. Each chapter, too, is mostly episodic.

I hope this helps!
