I never said anything of me reading weekly shounen. I rarely read manga because I don't like reading manga that much. I would like to reread Oyasumi Punpun someday because it was one of the manga that I actually finish and liked. And I would like to re-experience it as well but the problem is that it is very painful to read at least for me. I will have to be in an specific mood to actually finish the whole thing.

You say that as if punpun was your typical shounen manga that you read weekly just for fun. I will not reread punpun in at least a long long LONG time. I rarely read manga after all.

I think he didn't wanted to chase the moon anymore because he wanted to find Aiko first. Because Punpun made a promise to Aiko that he will never abandon her. He became obsessed with Aiko searching for her all his life walking away from his dream of going to the moon.

I don't know the details because it's been a long time since I finished Punpun. Maybe he was influence by his parents or something.

Idk man, I recommend that you read Oyasumi Punpun again and this time put yourself in the shoes of Punpun and think about what would you do if you were in his place. And maybe you will find answers to all your questions.

Punpun is a character that changes as the story goes on. You can see this by all the transformations he does throughout the story. He is not perfect because he makes mistakes, which is why he is a very human character and kind of relatable. He was influenced at a very young age by the people he met and I think that's why he was insecure about graduating or getting a job. After all the things he's been through, I wouldn't be surprised if one day he gives up on fulfilling his dream. And then we see him going down the wrong path sometimes thinking about sex and masturbation to distract himself or to not think about the miserable life he had. But he tries to have a good life when he meets Sachi Nanjou (who is my favorite character in the whole manga) and tries to start a new life with her doing manga.

I disagree. For me punpun is a very realistic story with well written characters and also good character development. A story like Punpun doesn't need to teach me life lessons or reflect reality for it to be a good story. Punpun is just a very sad story were a lot of bad things happen to the main character. Also you said that the story serves no purpose and I am going to remind you that Punpun is a Slice of Life/Drama about the daily life of Onodera Punpun. And Oyasumi Punpun is exactly that.

First of all I would like to know what is a shallow character for you and what characters were shallow, because I agree that not every characters from punpun was great but also non of them were horrible. And also where does it keeps repeating the same exact lines.
