AoT was a fantastic story about responsibility, duty, politics, sacrifice and hard decision that was reduced to a trash romance fan fiction with no build up or preparation, an ending that was changed in the last minute, the ending has ruined the entire series rendering previous scenes completely meaningless you won't be able to enjoy the series twice after the ending because the story is so contradictory, all the sacrifices in the story were in vain, GoT ending was ruined in the last season AoT was ruined in the last 30 minutes of the finale episode, a living breathing world where characters are offered multiple
...
choices was reduced to a flatline linear story where characters do what they do because there is no other choice, the characters are following predetermined path with no other possible solutions or outcomes and regardless of their choices they can't change it and AoT justify the evil actions of Eren in the final by fate because nothing can't change it in order to redeem Eren or more accurately assassinate and ruin his character although nothing can change fate indeed it isn't an excuse to choose bad choices but rather not to regret your right ones, any good stories should condemn evil people and praise good people, Isayama here tries to be deep but his attempt to be deep made him a hypocrite since the story easily forgave and tried to redeem all its evil characters and justified their evil doing only a hypocrite will write such a trash story, if you don't hate anyone then you are a hypocrite, AoT is a contradictory story but if it glorifies anything then it glorifies hypocrisy AoT doesn't stand for any principle, the incredible character development of Eren Yeager the main villain to trust in himself and have faith was ruined by an incredible character assassination where he's just a puppet and he can't change, Eren in the final chapter is worse than him in the first episode, there's. Strong DEUX machina that forces its characters to act illogically to give the path for a happy finale, also to give the path for a happy finale Isayama implemented a strong plot armor to protect the main cast in the final episode which completely ruins the themes of sacrifice and hard decision, Isayama tries his best to convince the fans that he didn't change his ending but that statement contradicts previous statements were he said the opposite also with a lot of plot holes being answered only by I don't know it's impossible to believe that Isayama was preparing don't know answers for 10 years, the worst part about the ending is that it prepares for a sequel indicating that Isayama may have been forced to ruin his series for money and continuation, any good story like the breaking bad should have an ending and a beginning, nobody knows the full details about what happened behind the scenes during writing this trash finale but in interviews the editor of Isayama stated that he interfered to prevent the death of a certain character claiming his death was meaningless after his survival he was written so poorly, the story horribly glorifies abusive relationships and toxic obsession and can't differentiate between healthy romance relationship and toxic obsession, Isayama implemented a strong plot devices, plot armor, DEUX machine and character assassination in order to conclude the story happily but compromised its main themes and morals of the story and produced something ugly which is completely illogical, other good stories like the breaking bad, Utopia by Ahmed Khaled Tawfik, the eternal champion and the Mist have a tragic ending but they deliver good clear consistent themes, how was the original ending supposed to be tragic according to the analysis of the story the original ending would have been tragic and dark similar to the movie the Mist or the Eternal Champion where the main cast dies most of them go google (Isayama wanted to illustrate something similar to the movie the mist) and read more about the Eternal Champion novel and its ending AoT is inspired by the Eternal Champion ,all we know right now is that AoT should be considered a complete failure in storytelling and other writers should take important notes not to repeat its same mistakes all over again

Bad setting and beginning
This review will include both TG and the Sequel RE the review may contain light spoilers and the ending of the review may contain heavy spoilers.
While AoT(Attack On Titan) was ruined by a bad ending that contradicts previous themes and buildup of the story, Tokyo Ghoul has been ruined by a bad beginning and setting.
TG is a story that tries to condemn racism and hate through a very very bad setting where there is a conflict between two species the humans and the Ghouls, the Ghouls are a species that biologically can't survive unless they prey on humans and
...
eat human meat, they eat human and distort their dead bodies in order to survive, the story's main theme is that it's important for humans to overlook their biological differences with Ghouls to live with them in peace and accept them, I don't know how this can relate to our life or world, TG is a story rated for Matures because of heavy violence and gore and it should portray mature themes and what it tells isn't relatable to us in reality non the less it doesn't make any sense, what's worse is that these Ghoul species are very disgusting they eat anything including their own kind 🤢🤮, racism happens because of differences in nationalism, skin color and religion but it has nothing to do with biological differences, in reality we human eliminate any biological threat to us whether it's viruses like the recent COVID-19 or Bacteria, so how bypassing biological differences with Ghouls relate to us ?????
in other comparison with AoT for example AoT has some excellent build up, the story sets the story where humans try to eliminate the biological threat which is coming from titans not tolerating or making peace with titans though the main philosophy of the story isn't eliminating titans, the main idea of AoT is responsibility and duty and the cause of eliminating titans is just an example and if you are devoted to your cause and your goals then you have to make sacrifices and other hard choices, of course not to mix thing or confuse thing, AoT was ruined later especially in chapter 139 because the ending contradicted what the story was running for 100+ chapters and reduced the story to a disgusting romance fan fiction.
back to Tokyo Ghoul as for characters Ken Kaneki (the main protagonist of the story) is a poorly written character, he's lovely but in a story aimed only at matures featuring violence and gory it really doesn't matter if the character is lovely or hated what matters is him having a political agenda and political goals and Karisma and pursing his goals by any means necessary like what we can see with characters from other shows most notably, Erwin Smith, Lelouch, Azula and Floch Froster( Instead of Ereh who was ruined in 139) Keneki unfortunately doesn't come even close to the previous mentioned characters, the exception is somehow Furuta the main antagonist of the story he's a literal son of 🤬 especially in RE, what's worse with Kaneki is that the Author decided to reset his character development to zero when he removed his entire memory in the beginning of RE ???? and only restoring it at the half of the story in RE, Keneki takes the personality of Haise Sakai a completely pointless arc that should have been changed to developed other political aspects of Kaneki
the narrative of the story how it's structured and told is very very bad, some things are told late and other things have no build up, there is a major coup that takes place in RE it has literally zero building and preparation and happens instantly in a surprise to the reader executed very poorly unlike what you will see in Avatar the last airbender or AoT, there is another lighter coup that takes place in the story which is executed slightly better but still isn't as good as the previous two mentioned shows.
The final arc has other problems, plot holes, most notably a species called the orphan dragons the doesn't serve the purpose of any conflicted parties whether it's the antagonist or the protagonist putting questions why they were created in the story with no real purpose, the final Arc also has some trash talk no jutsu instead of characters facing consequences like the Breaking Bad for their choices and mistakes, they are being reasoned with TALK NO JUTSU to correct their actions, honestly the most pathetic writing I've ever seen and we have seen this trash a lot,
The biggest hit to Keneki's character and
the following section may include heavy Spoilers
The biggest hit to Keneki is that in RE he formed a group of his own called the GOAT its main purpose is to establish a peace between humans and ghouls Keneki stated that the negotiations must be executed by force, and he'll force the GCC (the human organization to combat ghoul violence) to enter peace negotiation with humans that actually didn't happen not one bit in the story, Keneki didn't make any move against the GCC and that gave me a big disappointment and eliminated all the political aspects of his character a character with no political agenda is no character
if Ishida wants to write another story, he must make sure to remove any fictional elements associated with the story to deliver clear consistent themes just like the Breaking Bad or Vinland Saga.
The poor writing of TG explains why the studio didn't put too much efforts into adapting the manga and cut out so many details the anime is even worse.

the story is so good, but the ending is very overrated, it wasn't all that good, because of the poor scripting ( I became the villain so others can be heroes) I believe that the antagonist should remain a villain till his last moment even if that would result in a tragic ending I don't care as long as the writing is consistent I rate the overall series 9/10 but the ending 7/10 the endings as a whole isn't bad it was only the final scene that I want to ignore it.
the overall story is great it's a political story about a political conflict between
...
different parties and countries, each party is motivated by his own greed, corruption and interest as the story progresses, each party wants to accomplish victory by any means necessary no matter how immoral or cruel it's.

I can't recommend this manga no matter how good it is the ending retcons the entire storyline and reverses all its greatness with the character assassination, poor writing and contradictions with previous chapters in the ending in the final chapter 139 with every character becoming a hypocrite and a liar completely kills the moral and meaning of the story, and makes previous great scenes and moments completely irrelevant, it's good and bad guys each of them faithful to their character believing in their actions is what makes a great story, something AOT lacks, not to mention the happy ending that lacks enough dark tone sounds
...
boring and stupid, it doesn't fit the tragic theme of AOT, furthermore I can't recommend the manga while the Author and the publisher continue to ignore the negative reviews from fans and refuse to give another fitting ending, you may want to wait till a different ending is implemented in the Anime or a new ending is implemented in another canon, AOT isn't just worth your time.
my detailed review with spoilers why the ending sucks and how it ruins the series retconning the entire story line and throwing over 50 chapters in the trash with no build up or preparation.
