If Adult Swim and Ghost Rider had Japanese babies, Inferno Cop would be their lovechild. Irreverent, politically incorrect, and oftentimes hilarious, Inferno Cop will make you say, “WTF DID I JUST WATCH??” within 60 minutes or your money back guaranteed.

And if you don't say it, Inferno Cop will shoot you.

Still not sold on watching it? Well, then. Do you like to see the flow of a pregnant women’s water break like Niagara Falls? Does a newborn baby with a disproportionate body of a crustacean tickle your fancy? How does April O’Neal reporting on zombies with Ghost Rider traveling back to prehistoric times sound to read more

Let me just first say that Saya Kisaragi is BADA$$. Not since Kite has there been a deadly femme fatale donning a school-girl uniform who can shed copious amounts of blood with one swift stroke of her cutlery.

Let me also add that we get to see Saya naked, which was simultaneously exciting and disturbing. The reason it was disturbing is because she's wearing a high school uniform, which means she's underage, right? I felt a little pervy to be honest. Okay, fine. A lot pervy. Lets move on…

Story: 6. The story is essentially about a girl named Saya seeking revenge on a villain who read more

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica + LSD = probably one helluva drug. Heck, MSMM sans LSD was a trip! But in all seriousness, MSMM is one of those anime’s that defy typical conventions in a good way. I mean, we see cute little girls fight eerie monsters in even creepier settings. An American equivalent would be like putting Cinderella in the Children of the Corn. The juxtaposition is fascinating, and I wonder how a 13 year old girl in Japan would have received MSMM?

Story – 7. **SEMI SPOILER ALERT. Basic premise? Kinda like Scientology. Aliens need energy. Aliens harness energy from women, due to their read more

Preliminary
It is becoming increasingly clear to me that a person falls into one of two categories: either you like the stuff from the producers of Ghost in the Shell, or you don’t. I’m slowly finding myself falling in to the latter category. At the risk of sounding like a heretic, labeled a pariah by the MAL community, and being burned at the stake, I’m going to say: Ergo Proxy is overrated. This is not to say that it isn’t a good anime. But it’s definitely no masterpiece. Why?

Ergo Proxy poses as intellectual, but comes off irritatingly confused. In its defense, there are 2-3 episodes read more

When I was young(er), my favorite day dream was time travel. The exploits of my journey are outlined as follows: A) Time travel to a feudal era of crude weaponry. B) Bring automatic weapons/explosives. C) Wipe out a nation's army. D) Plunder hot women and treasures.

C’mon guys, don’t act like this dream hasn’t crossed your minds?! ARMY OF DARKNESS –movie plug! If this scenario tickles your fancy/fetish, then GATE just might be the anime for you.

Story: 7. Perhaps imaginative is singularly the best word to describe GATE. The story is basically about a time/space traveling gate that links two worlds together – a fantastical read more

Thank you MAL community for suggesting this EXCELLENT anime. I was like a crack fiend, jonezing for the next SSY fix. Finished the series in 2 days. If you every find yourself confused while watching an episode, or perhaps want an intellectual and insightful commentary, please do yourself a favor and read Tenderfoot's recap at angryanimebitches.com. I read every single blog post of hers (his?) and found each one to be a particularly helpful guide through the bramble bush of a plot line called Shinsekai Yori. Now on to the review!

Story: 10. A memorable and abiding story. Hold on to your butts because the read more

Full disclosure: I like anime with a clean narrative, witty dialogue, enthralling visuals, and clear direction. I really wanted to favorite this variant of GITS, but alas, my search continues

Story: 5. This is really what really let me down about the GITS Arise series. It might just be that I'm thickheaded, but I feel like the narrative is needlessly complicated. What is equally disappointing is that the convoluted story detracts from my ability to take in the (IMHO) beautiful animation that shrouds the narrative. Well crafted TV and anime shows each episode should have both elements of discontinuity (entertainment value without watching prior episodes) read more

In light of the swath of well written reviews, I feel this review only reinforces what the consensus of the community is about this anime: it's fun! Reminds me of the movie: Project: Almanac.

Story - 9. Fun time travel narrative. Got a little confused/lost a few times as to their purpose for their travels. But the rest of the story is easy enough to follow. Also paced well. Didn't feel too fast or too slow.

Animation - 8. Good, but nothing ground breaking.

Sound - 8. Decent. Music didn't play a large role in playing with emotions. Felt like this was a good thing.
