I haven't started Mizu wa... yet, but I had to bail out of River End Cafe because the main character's total ostracism was so depressing. Very nice drawing style though!

Hi! I noticed your review of Karakida-ke no koshogurashi and since you manage to describe so well what makes it good I was wondering if you might be able to recommend some other manga that have a similar subtle and quiet grown-up feel. There's Ikoku Nikki and Umimachi Diary, but that's about all I know.

Really enjoyed your Karami Zakari review. You worded my thoughts about the whole manga better than I ever could. Having a promiscuous heroine is almost unheard of in Japanese Media, which is why I do have a certain level of interest in the manga.

Spot on with Manshuu. Good art, interesting setting. But everywhere else...messy. Mess. Ack. I personally love the Interwar Period in Asia whatnot with all the crazy people involved such as the Warlords of China, various generals and soldiers of the Japanese Empire, and Korean anarchists and independence activists; this one disappoints; as you've said, too god damn silly and pulpy.
