the Gintama review is terrible, it's like the one a 6 year old kid wrote when the kid hasn't finished watching the anime. You said the anime is for a 12 year old kid but you didn't see the “shounen” there.
It’s not a plot based show as if you read the synopsis you would know. It’s a comedy and includes many references to different anime’s. But you wouldn’t understand since apparently only watching 2 series. Characters were one of the most likeable and there’s a reason why gintoki is one of the top and Gintama being one of the most highest rated on mal. If you couldn’t bother to fill your mal I don’t expect you to even care about the anime you’re watching so you must be watching blind lol
You've only watched 2 shows and called Gintama lame parodies, I dont want to oppose your opinion but gintama's comedy is subjective, it's mainly for the Japanese audience so jokes might not make you laugh or make it look funny, and as for the characters, the show does have a wide variety of characters, and you can't say they haven't developed when you haven't watched the next series. But you can keep your opinion I don't want to bash you
