Hi, I'm Alex. I spend my free time playing games, watching anime, and spouting my juvenile opinions across the internet. I'm also a massive Gainax fanboy
I'm generally not an emotional person. I rarely get upset and I rarely feel happy. But, I do have emotions, and I'm terrible at dealing with them when they come up. I act completely irrationally whenever I'm feeling some type of way. It's for this reason that I highly prize media which I view as genuine outpouring of emotion. Loud and over the top, abrasive and obnoxious, these are descriptors that all sound positive to me. So, frequently, my favorite series are the ones that can make me feel things, that help me to understand myself, and help me to understand others. I would say this is the make or break factor in taking a series I like into a series I love to death - a series whose flaws I totally excuse in favor of the highs it reaches.
I'm generally positive when it comes to anime. I'd recommend anything 5 or above to anyone who's interested. I don't really watch things I dislike often, nor do I like talking about them. I rate 1-10
10 - These inspire me, intrigue me, and follow me through my life. They inform my reasoning, emotions, and tastes. They're like tattoos - for better or for worse, they're a part of me, and I love them deeply.
9 - Shows that interest me on multiple levels, from intellectual curiosities to the basest, most simplistic emotion, though they probably lack the personal oomph of tens.
8 - Shows that I recognize as excellent and enjoyed thoroughly.
7 - Enjoyable experiences, but don't stand out to me in any remarkable way. This is where the flaws of a work start becoming distracting to me - up until this point.
6 - Some interesting or cool things, but probably mostly forgettable.
5 - I'm indifferent to the existence of this anime. Or I'm ambivalent about being positive or negative about it
4 - I remember these as flawed, disappointing experiences that I'm unable to connect with in any way.
3 - Watching this was like being on a 10 hour long flight with someone loudly snoring in my ear the whole time.
2 - The anime equivalent of The Brown Note
1 - Death is imminent. Since this anime exists, god cannot possibly exist. Checkmate, theists.
