The great doctor Ryuji Hirasaka has returned from 10 years in hiding...he enslaved a woman, tormented her, and raped her. Now that his status is cleared, he is prepared to begin a new life...until by a "certain" request he is in charge of making a special ward...where the nurses take some loooong night shifts. Time to pick beautiful women to train for this world, eh, doctor?
The plot is not half bad...I wouldn't be too shocked if this kind of thing existed (although it is a little too exaggerated.) And to say in the least, it suffices very well without the extra nasty stuff. The ending
is actually quite a surprise, and the development of the plot is quite healthy in comparison to the amount of sex that is in the story. Some of the "plans" though seem a little too ridiculous, but they are still funny and masterminded.
Animation: Sometimes really sexy...and GROSS AS FUCK!!!
Lots of scat porn...a lot of shit flying everywhere during the end of almost every episode. I should spoil this, as to warn many of the innocent minds that will get wasted after seeing the filth. Also, there is bleeding and a lot of disgusting other stuff that can make the watcher really disturbed;or laugh when the great doctor pulls hilarious one-liners.
And now why the animation owns: there is a lot of realistic looking sex. I'm serious, I got turned on seeing some of this stuff (and to share this information makes me even more proud of myself). The scat scenes generally happen towards the end - meaning they are easily avoided - however most of the time is a lot of clean, erotic sex...and a lot of nice fantasies can be played out in some of the scenes. Pretty good job here.
Everything else.
I'm only gonna say that the doctor is a genius, he really fools all the women like a master, and I wish I had his convicting attitude sometimes. As for the girls, they seem to have a lot in common with another one (like girl 1 is similar to girl 3, and girl 2 is similar to girl 4.) Nothing too special about the sounds - unless of course you wanna die laughing hearing the fart sounds that come up...
I watch the sex scenes from time to time, and even tell people to download Yakin Byoutou. I've accepted this to be arousing and definitely worth the keeping. It gets really sick a little too often, but once you learn to skip those parts, it's fun to watch all the dialogue and such from the doctor.
Recommendation: only to experienced hentai otakus. Anyone else would delete this after watching shit fly everywhere the first time...

I've been actively immersed in eroge, ero-manga, ero-anime etc for probably around ten years now. In that time, I've tried to get a peek at every ero-anime I could come by (too many eroge and ero-manga to keep up with for my taste). In my opinion, ero-anime really took off quality-wise around the 90's, like La Blue Girl, New Angel and Words Worth, and then sort of tapered off when one episode or two episode ero-anime series became the norm. Of course, there have been one/two episode series that I enjoy, mostly because of their unique character designs, like Foxy Nudes, Lover-in-Law and The Two
Facials of Eve.
Ever since Dark Love came out, I've been a huge Teruaki Murakami fan. I'd seen some of his earlier works before, but the hardcore animation and scenes in Dark Love was a big revelation to me.
As far as Prison Battleship goes, I've briefly played the Lilith eroge.
Art & Animation
All right, finally the review! You've probably already gleaned from above that I consider art/animation the most important aspect of ero-anime. If I had to specifically choose, I'd say animation is a little more important than art.
The color scheme stays true to the game. Everything is gray (Yes, I'm American), purple and blue. There are some scenes that are almost entirely green and in shades of black, but it helps to separate it out of all the depravity. There's not much variety here, but that just means animation is even more noticeable. Backgrounds are appropriate for space and onboard a ship.
Some CG work is incorporated, mostly for the ship and mechanical designs, but it's in no way a major selling point.
The lighting is subdued, more so than the original game, and Teruaki Murakami uses a technique of panning the camera around while going in and out of focus (think of other Murakami series like Night Shift Nurses: Ren Nanase and Taimanin Asagi). After a while I barely noticed it, but I think it helps create a sense of insanity and disorientation.
Character designs take on a Murakami twist. They are interestingly shaded and there is some nice contrast. Because of the uniforms that the crewmen wear, sometimes it's hard to tell who is talking, but those characters play minor roles and it doesn't take away from the series. Everyone generally looks like the characters from the Lilith game, but sometimes the camera angles create weird proportional issues. For instance, the female characters' thighs will look too big or the face will look too wide. This was most noticeable in scenes where there was more talking than action. If you've seen any other recent Murakami series, you'll know that these characters are Murakami's.
The OP animation is cryptic and colorful. When you first see it, you're probably not sure how the series will go. There's not much animation here, and it's probably where you will see the most CG in the whole series.
Animation in the main part is fluid, fast and intense. You can see the ripples in the skin when the characters are being violated, a somewhat rare occurrence in ero-anime. Some might think that it's too fast, but I like that it's so crazy compared to other ero-anime. If you're familiar with any other Murakami series, you'll know this is a normal thing and almost to be expected. Sometimes there are discrepancies. Like in one scene a female character might be near a bed, but immediately the scene cuts and there's not a bed to be found. I didn't notice this until after a bunch of views.
As for ejaculation, I think Murakami has always been a leader in ero-anime with fluid and smooth money shots. They are also well drawn, and you can see the depth and dimension of the semen. It's not just completely white. However, they are a little different in Prison Battleship compared to his other series, where it was depicted as more of string cheese or Easy Cheese. Imagine you take the egg whites from a dozen eggs, stuff it into a bazooka and fire it. That's the cumshot, and there are a lot of them in this series. In fact, Lilith/Pixy initially advertised on their site the manifestation of the next-generation "Zaa-Jiru 1.5 System," roughly translated to "Cum-Juice 1.5 System." It would be nice if there is more continuity with fluids on characters from scene to scene to see the "damage," but that's a minor complaint.
Art & Animation: 10
Sound
The major characters are well portrayed. They all have unique voices and depict their character types well in both non-sexual and sexual scenes. You can tell how much of a change the female characters are undergoing throughout the series and how stressed they are just from their voices.
Sound effects are appropriate in sex scenes and do not detract from the animation. There are also nice sounds for stuff related to the ship, weapons etc.
There's also an opening song (Ai no Idia), which is rare for ero-anime. The lyrics seem like every other song I've heard, and I don't factor it much into the value of a song in anime. The vocals are clear and the beat is uplifting. The whole song doesn't particularly strike me as exceptional, but it isn't jarring and gives the show a little more production value.
Sound: 9
Story
There are two parts here: the background story leading up to the ero-anime and what takes part during the actual series.
The back story is pretty interesting since I'm a sucker for sci-fi type stuff: colonies in the future, galactic wars, political intrigue, bringing evildoers to justice etc. I think I'd be interested even if this wasn't ero-anime.
What happens during the actual Prison Battleship episodes is pretty much just every evil letch's wet dream: turn your pain-in-the-backside heroines into your sex slaves. The twist of using hypnosis is sort of interesting, but I'm not impressed.
The series didn't pretend it had much of a story, so I didn't mind it as much. Little plot developments come along just to keep the action fresh.
Story-wise and progression-wise, Prison Battleship does stay true to the original eroge. It even has two endings to sort of give it that eroge feel.
Story: 6
Characters
There are three main characters here, and the rest are really just window dressing. There's the male lead looking for revenge and the two females that are trying to ruin everything.
For the most part, I think the female characters are believable, and it really adds to the eroticism of sex scenes. This is also where the hypnosis twist helps, since the heroines' personalities are being changed. Without the hypnosis, I might be more inclined to think that the females are just weak.
The only complaint I have is that the male lead is too one-dimensional. There's really nothing to like about the guy. However, since he's so villainous, it makes the abuse of the females seem more believable.

Value
Great sex scenes, varied scenes, different kinds of fetishes, an ero-anime that takes place in space and a series that Teruaki Murakami directed are just some reasons why Prison Battleship has great value. Buy it, rewatch it and recommend it to others!
But since it's an ero-anime, it probably has a little lower value than I would like.
Value: 8
Enjoyment
I really like this series. If you've stuck through this whole review, you know how much of a Teruaki Murakami fan I am. I bought the whole four episodes on DVD and also almost all the digital versions. I probably will also get the box set when it comes out just to see more Teruaki Murakami bonus features.
I only wish there were more scenes! I'm immensely looking forward to the next ero-anime Murakami does. He better not retire yet.
Enjoyment: 10
Final Comment
If you like Teruaki Murakami, you'll probably also like this series. If you don't like Murakami, you're probably not going to enjoy this.
If you've never seen any of Murakami's stuff, I'd recommend going through the different series he's worked on just to see how he has progressed; starting with Sins of the Flesh, MeiKing, The Blackmail: Tomorrow Never Ends, Endless Serenade, Girl Next Door, Inmu 2: Flesh Dreams, Punishment, Ail Maniax, Princess 69, Seifuku Shojo The Animation, The Duchess of Busty Mounds, Dark Love, Night Shift Nurses: Ren Nanase, Night Shift Nurses: Kazama Mana, Night Shift Nurses: Yagami Yu and Taimanin Asagi. At any rate, it would be an interesting "history" lesson in ero-anime.

This review kinda feels pointless in a way. I doubt there is anyone watching anime that doesn’t already know of this title. Heck, even those who don’t watch hentai are well aware of its supremacy. Well, I wrote this just in case somebody was living under a rock, has no idea of what it is all about and stumbles upon my review (what are the chances of that?).
ART SECTION: 9/10 [Make way for the Devil and his army of horny high-schoolers.]
There is little to dare bitch about here. Although several years old, the quality in animation remains amongst the best there is in the
genre. Hentai were known as low-budjet productions, full of animation mistakes in follow-ups, in-betweens and body consistencies. And then THIS baby came along and broke the tradition. The quality in animation is exceptional!
And yes, things look overall way better nowadays and it does look a bit aged, but I am not removing any points because of it, since it was top material when it came out and still is the gold standard. It has very detailed and almost realistic body anatomy. Countless hentai fail miserably at this, by depicting sexual organs in a laughable, simplistic way. Not here! You get the real thing! Ok, to be honest, all the girls share the same body type and facial structure. And the way penises eject cum is NOT realistic. But who can complain about such trivial matters when you get all these mingled bodies of exceptional detailing rubbing at each other all over the screen? Add to that the fact that the whole thing is uncensored, without annoying blurs and mosaics or convenient camera angles that hide all the lower body action.
If you so much want to find glitches in movements, you will. There are several cases, where the animation repeats itself; quite common in sex scenes for all hentai. Then, there are some cases where the semen disappears for a few frames or where people are shown running with just a simple frame. Sure, there are mistakes. All of which can be overlooked if you appreciate all the work done here. Heck, the mistakes are so far apart that it doesn’t matter after a while.
It has the usual schoolyard backgrounds, all of which are still of high production values. The focus of course is not there but in the gothic dungeons and the satanic rituals. Yes, there are plenty of those. Pentagrams, black cloaks, sacrificial altars, eerie candles, athames and a lot of other un-Christian stuff. They are of course mostly for flavoring the orgies done there and not to turn you away from religion. Anyway, if you considered yourself a good Christian, you wouldn’t be watching hentai in the first place; so stop bitching. They are great and do build atmosphere.
You want special effects? Satanic words, engraved on glowing summoning circles, full of Latin words that mention epithets of God and Demons, bashing people aside or turning them to sex fiends. So cool to see in a porn feature! They are not that great of course. All the “magic battles” in the series is just static runes appearing with some chanting. They are cool, nonetheless!
SOUND SECTION: 8/10 [Jazus Christ!]
Voice Acting: Decent voice acting (horrible in the dub), eerie and atmospheric music, and magic echoes during spell really gets your blood pumping. The dialogues are silly but even those have some context that you need to pay attention to.
STORY SECTION: 7/10 (spoiler alert!) [Going against religion was never so fun.]
First of all… there actually IS one! And it is very good for a change. Horny schoolgirl Satanists invoking orgies and human sacrifices with the use of a devilish book, in order to bring Hell on Earth! And a horny male who has the book they need and uses it to have all the sex he wants. And a virgin chick that loves him and her purity is needed in the ritual. And many revelations. And plot twists. And sex! Lots and lots and lots of really arousing sex! With bondage! And even with a futanari (woman with a penis)! And no tentacles; I hate those! WOOO!!! By far, the most complex story ever included in a hentai.
Plus, it is long too. 6 episodes of non-stop story development. Most hentai last for a couple of episodes, thus not giving time for a good story to unfold. But not here. 6 episodes! The conclusion is not the usual “guy gets the girl and lived happily ever after”. A most unexpected ending for a porn story.
Is it deep or complex? Hell no, it is a silly tale about people turning into immoral sex fiends with a simple chant or an aphrodisiac. And if you so much want to bitch about something, the teachers, the parents and the church are nowhere to be seen trying to prevent all this trouble.
CHARACTER SECTION: 7/10 [When sex and love do not blend nicely.]
There are distinctive characters in the story, only because of the way they act and not the way they look. The main male for instance is your average dork that tries to screw everything that moves; a trait common in all hentai protagonists. Yet, towards the end he actually repents for his immoral acts (mostly because he was used as a sex tool by the dick-woman). He actually wants to stop all the fuss in the story and save the girl he likes, instead of accepting to remain a fuck-thing, engulfed in hedonism for a lifetime. The villain in the story appears to be just an abusive bitch but actually has a backdrop story that somewhat excuses her actions. The kind girl in the series turns around into something else in the course of the series. That counts both as character development and more than just cartoons screwing each other.
Then again, the rest of the characters are just your average studs, used solely for screwing. Quite nice to see them having the orgasm of their lives but still not enough to be excused as a great cast.
VALUE & ENJOYMENT SECTION: 10/10
Without some annoying glitches standing in the way, I can say it is (if not the best) amongst the most arousing and rewatchable hentai ever! It guarantees you a boner every time you watch it.
VERDICT
Hail Bible Black! Supreme empress of all Hentailand! GRAURRR!
SUGGESTION LIST
The Bible Black several other sequels and spin-offs. Those would be: Bible Black Only (storyless shorts of the girls doing naughty stuff), Bible Black Origin (the prequel which explains how everything began) and Shin Bible Black (the sequel where the girls are back for more action).
Hatsu Inu is an equally enjoyable hentai, throughout its duration.
Stringento & Accelerendo & Stretta have even better awesome graphics and equally arousing sex scenes.
Discipline is a hentai made by the same team but is far inferior in giving you a boner.
