When I rate a series depends on whether or not it leaves a good first impression. If it starts off good, I reserve my judgement and wait until I finish it to give it a score. It it starts off bad, then I assume it won't do a 180 in quality and give it a score early on. If it's an airing anime, I score it a third into its run.
If the anime is made up of two seasons, then I almost never give the first season higher than an 8. My score of the second season is usually the score of the whole series. Single-episode OVAs rarely get higher than a 7. I will never give something a 10 until I finish it.
My favorites list will only contain TV anime.
10:An anime that went above and beyond the norm, and delivered an experience that is superior to most other anime. Calling it a masterpiece doesn't mean it's flawless, but what it did right far outweighs its problems.
9:An anime that is exceptional in its execution, or was really just that good. There might be/are notable flaws, but they don't detract from my enjoyment of them. I definitely would rewatch these.
8:A really good anime with minor flaws, but otherwise didn't deliver anything I haven't seen. Would most likely rewatch these if given the chance.
7:A good anime that was enjoyable, but didn't give me anything exceptional. I wouldn't mind rewatching these.
6:An anime that I at best can tolerate, but has flaws that detract from its experience and didn't have anything that stood out.
5:I didn't enjoy anything, but I didn't hate anything, either. Maybe there was something I did like, but everything else bogged it down.
4-1:
100th Anime: Cowboy Bebop 125th Anime: Shingeki no Kyojin Season 3 Part 2
Without spoilers, do you think AoT stays consistently great and is sticking the landing? I heard the second to last chapter just came out. I'll probably stay an anime only.
It's been a long time but I just want to drop by and say that you are the team that I most hope gets Deshaun Watson. You guys got the talent and the coaching staff to win the division and make some noise next year if you get him imo.
I've been slowly rewatching the episodes of Franxx that I've seen after not touching it for like a year or more.
Not because I like it mind you in fact it's probably one of my absolute least favorite anime, some erased tier shit, but I must finish it (which will happen this month)
I think that recognizing flaws in the things we love is just something you have to accept in order to re experience how great they are. I could list more flaws with Evangelion when I watched it again in 2018 but my appreciation of all the good points increased; despite having more complaints my love for the work doubled from rewatching it.
When they have that big of an impact, going through and embracing it again is a very rewarding, and very fuckin fun experience.

Good luck! I hope you keep Cam. Couldn't imagine the Panthers without him.
