For people that look at my rather high average rating, understand that I am very picky about what I watch, and will only watch shows I really enjoy. My tastes might just be a bit different than yours, as tropes and overused plot devices/techniques don't bother me so much, as long as the final outcome is an enjoyable anime. Sad to say, sometimes that just isn't the case. So don't be surprised at my high ratings for certain shows that most people would say is "shit" because everyone can enjoy what they want, opinions are opinions.

You don't have to be an "elitist" to know what you like, and know your tastes. Just don't be a filthy casual about it xD

That being the case, I also rate my anime accordingly. I don't rate based on critiques or criteria. My criteria is how much I enjoyed the anime, was it entertaining, not "did it follow trope A and B? Knock of 2 points," however I will rate a show poorly if I really am not enjoying it or it just doesn't have any real "substance."
