Thanks for participating in my group's minimalist list design contest! Please have your design ready on your list before midnight tonight US Pacific time (a little under 24 hours from now).

Both your lists are set to private, so they are not eligible. They must be made public and present a list within the rules by the deadline tonight or they won't be included.

All entrants must keep this in mind before voting begins:

Okay, so I finished Hana a little while ago. I loved it for the most part...it had the usual stunning visuals, and the music was fantastic. Kanbaru's own personal problems hit pretty close to home for me, so it got me emotionally, as well. I also liked that there was relatively little fanservice and it never went overboard, which I've been wary of since Nise. There were some parts in the middle where things dragged a bit, though. Just gotta bear with some slightly repetitious dialogue.

Overall, I'd say the delay was worth the wait for the apparent polish SHAFT put into it. The animation is a return to form after Nisekoi and Mekaku City Actors were a bit undercooked and lazy in that regard.

Sure thing! I'm going to bed soon (I work overnights), but I've got the Commie release downloaded, so I'll probably watch the rest in the next day or two. The whole -Monogatari franchise is probably my favorite series overall, so I might be a tad biased.

haha yeah, sorry for the wall-o-text, I tend to get carried away when I start describing things.

Other than Ginko and Natsume being able to see supernatural creatures other people cannot (mushi and youkai, respectively), there's really no similarity at all, IMO. Ginko is a professional who makes his trade by resolving mushi-related issues; Natsume is just a weird kid in the eyes of people who know nothing about youkai, which is practically everyone. Mushi are also extremely varied and alien in their nature and appearances, and they often have effects that are readily observable even by normals. While plenty are unaware of mushi completely, most of the characters Ginko run into will accept their existence eventually. The youkai in NY, by comparison, are mostly goofy, garden variety takes on traditional spirits from Japanese folklore. Their presence is a lot easier to deny or ignore than the mushi. Finally, Mushishi has almost no recurring characters, with Ginko stumbling into new clientele every episode, while NY looks like it develops a strong supporting cast over time. Really, night and day.

So far, I'm loving Terror in Resonance. I still stand by the 10 rating. I think some of the moe bits with Lisa in the last few episodes feel tacked on, and that Five's textbook cartoon villainy distort the sense of realistic immersion somewhat, but these are very minor complaints. Unless the plot goes completely off the rails, which I don't see happening, this could reach classic status soon. I'm hearing lots of Death Note comparisons...I haven't watched seen the series, but I know the story, and both have the detective/criminal cat-and-mouse element...yeah.

aww, that's too bad, I don't know what to tell you there. Mushishi is not action-heavy...at all...but it's certainly very pretty and definitely worth your time.

What do you think of Natsume Yuujinchou? I've sat on the first cour for almost a year it seems like and still have two to go. All the following seasons are downloaded and ready...I enjoy it very much...but for some reason, I have to be in the right mood to put it on because each episode manages to hit me in the feels way too hard. I'm so emotionally drained by the time the ED starts, and that just *kills* me.

If that happened, I would just run like hell or just say no thanks.

Yeah, I agree, she is pretty cute, although Touka can get aggressive with Kaneki at times. And she is pretty scary at times, seeing her torturing Kaneki at the end of the first episode.

What would you do if Rize was real and she tried to turn you into a ghoul?.

Hi, thanks for the add! sorry it took me so long to see the request.

o_o I-- I'm very sorry to hear that. If you're confused, that's understandable. I don't think I really "digested" everything until I re-watched the series, and I definitely appreciated it more afterwards also. I'm quite sad that you thought the 5th one was...b-boring ;_; First I've heard that lol. Though, admittedly, I didn't like it initially, but by the end I was pretty impressed overall. There's definitely a fair bit of unexplained stuff, but eventually I realized I should just stop caring and turn my brain off haha. Again, the main reasons I appreciate the series are the soundtrack and Ryougi Shiki; I found her to be a very interesting and unique character; her multiple personalities and how she deals with the loss of one of them - it's just really different and interesting to me. Part of why I find it so interesting could be because my ex had multiple personalities and went through something very similar, so I can "relate" in a way.

While I'm not much of a fan of Kokutou, I like his relationship with Shiki. Also, I kinda liked Enjou in the 5th movie. And Touko is just a badass. Man, that's such a shame, though; if your interest was killed, then I suppose KnK just isn't for you, although that's very understandable. I think whether or not you like the series essentially correlates with how much you like Ryougi. When it comes down to it, there's not much else there to appreciate besides -- as you mentioned -- the visuals, directing, and soundtrack. And if the 5th one turned you off, I'd say it'd be best for you to not bother with the remaining ones. While the 7th one is pretty good, it's not much better than the first, and the 6th is absolute garbage because it feels like filler and it focuses on Kokutou's dumb sister lol. Regardless, I'm sorry you couldn't get into it :< I'll give more reasonable and accessible reccomendations next time. I promise my taste isn't complete shit lol

I am also wondering how Kaneki is going to deal with being a ghoul, being a ghoul must be hard for him, huh?

Which female character did you like better, Rize or Toka.

I say Toka cause Rize scares me. :(
