Studio Trigger does its thing and the show has lots of neat ideas, they sell the cyberpunk vibe well. Animations are gorgeous and characters are mostly fun. Fans of blood and gore will get their fair share, they also don't avoid casual nudity without characters having their typical "anime nosebleed" moment, which is refreshing.

Still, 7/10 because the second half is veeery weak plotwise. The main character is sadly pretty flat, uninteresting and occasionally makes dumb decisions. The series opens up a huge city with tons of opportunities but realizes in the second half that it has to wrap the story up quickly so the last ... few episodes just boil down to your standard anime showdown.

Don't expect a masterpiece, but if you want some violent, stylish anime trigger action in a cyberpunk universe, give it a try. I never played the game myself, but I think that you'll enjoy the anime more if you have played it already.

Not terriffic, but it's alright entertainment

Main character is a Mary Sue who can do anything and gets all the girls (including his mom motorboating him)

It gets ridiculous when they start writing their own spells because he happens to know the exact values of gravity, melting point and atomic weight of any metal, which is vital to write your metal creating spell which he of course found out since it's logical, right?

I was hoping to watch an old assassin in a kids body doing some cool stuff and struggle here and there in the fantasy setting, instead you get an all-knowing demigod kid gathering his harem and doing everything perfectly. Greeeaaat.

Asspull - The Anime

Some kids get thrown into some alternate universe, what do they worry about?
"Oh no my grades! We're probably going to die but I gotta learn for the exams."
"What do you think the principal will think about this? I hope we don't get punished."
"Hey, let's keep up the school rules, although we're floating through the absolute void of nothingness."

Suddenly some have superpowers. But sometimes its "rules" that the world itself just sets up. And sometimes it's just the "weirdness" of the world itself.

Well great. So we got a group of irrationally thinking teens (where NONE of them is somewhat interesting) in a world ... where a bunch of random stuff happens because the author wanted it that way. "This happens because this environment is weird! No wait, because there's a new world rule that does this! No wait it's because it's someones superpower!"

Sh!t I've read better fanfics than this

Solid 7/10

Pros:
- Absolutely stylish
- Outstanding art and animation
- Great music
- Nice pacing

Cons:
- Story often makes no sense
... - The USP of the series, the robot arms, barely make sense in the series and are lateron almost forgotten
- The ending is very weak
- characters are a bit forgetable

The anime is all about style, cool music, great animations and great art. If you don't mind a simple story and some nonsense moves/actions from the characters, then give it a try.

If you're the kind of person who likes to watch animes with a couple of friends while drinking a bit/occasionally starting to blabber with your friends then this anime is perfect. The good thing is that the overall action keeps you entertained while the story is so simple and moves so smoothly that it doesn't matter if you have a short conversation with a buddy about the anime/other stuff, it's easy to catch up with what happened when you missed a few things.
