Revisiting accounts that already exist.

I've told you, I'm pretty sure nothing is going to be deleted since it's a drastic and permanent change. I'd say their influence on ranking db is going to be limited as it's a middle ground.

I'm not a MAL dev so I can just tell you what I think about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well, first of all I don't think any of these accounts will be deleted, that's just too drastic and regular users might be caught in it. It'll be just code after all.

Secondly, I don't think that's good enough criteria for going backwards, let alone for new account validation. It'll be too easy to spot it and work around it even if it's not publicly stated.

Hey! I've read that book, I'd highly recommend reading it fully if you get the chance. There's another part in the Angel's Egg section that I really like, about how the egg is metaphorically born from the girl:

"[The girl] is placing all of her faith into an object of her own creation. Oshii may be likening this to the construction of religion--it is said in the Bible that man was created in God's image, but Oshii suggests that it may be the other way around."

I agree with some of the things you shared but I think there's a lot more to it too. For me, the girl isn't so much religion itself but the religious believer. The egg, then, is the product of the religious believers faith, i.e. what they perceive to be religion. The soldier isn't simply atheism but scepticism. In breaking the egg, he's not so much making an atheistic statement, but moreso forcing the girl to challenge her faith. I'd say his role is more a commentary on the superficiality of the girl's faith. Its important he breaks the egg with a cross, the Christian symbol of sacrifice, as he forces the girl to make her sacrifice.

I really like that point about the sexual imagery. There's a lot of it packed throughout the film.

I always like seeing Angel's Egg analysis so thanks for sharing!

Side mission, yes. But I am just looking for certain anime from other sites and seeing what is new. Chaos is all I got at the moment. ;)

1. The best way to get better at writing is to read a lot and write even more.

2. Research is more important than opinion. Opinions are like aresholes. Everyone has one and they're usually full of shit. On the other hand, research will give you facts and a foundation upon which to build your own perspective and arguments - many of which you should be able to support with evidence or comparisons with other titles or works.

3. Never react. Always give yourself space to process what you've watched, and form an opinion in your own time. There's no rush. Anyone who believes that being a reviewer or a critic is some kind of time-sensitive or popularity-based competition is a deluded fool.

4. Try to avoid asking friends for feedback as they will not want to hurt your feelings by telling you anything bad. Getting better in anything is a struggle unless you have some kind of innate talent that far outweighs everyday logic, so it's usually better to develop a thick skin and get the harshest criticism you can.

5. Just because everyone else is covering it, doesn't mean you have to. Don't force yourself to work at the pace of the crowd as you'll burn out very quickly.

6. Don't just stick to anime and manga. There's a whole world of entertainment out there so explore it. We had generations of being ridiculed, bullied and beaten for liking games, anime, comics, sci-fi, etc, but now it's cool to be a geek and even former star footballers like Eric Cantona are making references to Captain Tsubasa in their videos, so if they're willing to open their minds and watch anime, why aren't anime fans willing to do the same and try other things? Give other media a chance and you'll find that your words will have greater weight because you will have a much broader perspective than the average anime fan.

Just some suggestions. Take them or leave as you will, and all the best with your writing!

Ah man, that review took me a while. I would say that the review probably took 8 hours in total, but I also wrote it over the course of multiple days.
