This show is bait. I was baited so hard by at every turn in the anime. Rewatched it and still got baited. Characters explain the plot under the assumption that the audience only has three brain cells. Great watch, 10/10 would recommend my children.
This is one of those 'the source material is better' animes. However, I do appreciate the effort put into making some parts of the story less drawn out than in the manga.
All in all, glad I watched this when I was still young so that I can revisit this at a later time (today) to see how much I've grown as
...
a person.

It looks like there are not any critical reviews yet, so I'll attempt to write one (Spoilers ahead). I am going to write a review that is purely based on the contents of this anime and assume that it is not adapted from a manga.
When it comes to shounen shows such as Nanatsu no Taizai, you can't be expected to watch it and learn something profound about life. They are meant to be taken at face value and usually, I just watch them for their tacky and wacky plot. Sure, the series is mediocre it has always been enjoyable until this entry that is.
Studio
...
Deen completely butchered the art and quality standard that A-1 pictures set. It was nowhere near on par. You get really weird facial animations as well as still shots. Most of the action scenes seemed weak (literally, characters just seemed like they were punching cardboards) and most of the time, they were obscured by a huge amount of smoke. Perhaps an attempt by the studio to save money and time.
That being said, an anime can be regarded as passable if the plot redeemable right? Sadly not in this case. Characters were out of place most of the time and the dialogue (that is not exposition) felt incredibly redundant. Seriously, you might as well be watching an animated encyclopedia version of the anime; there would be no disparity. I like how they included more screen time for the side characters and not focus too much on the titular characters themselves. However, Ban is gone for almost the entire last half of the anime.
The execution of the story is so bland that it's forgettable most of the time. As with all Nanatsu no Taizai entries, ex-machina moments and plot holes are incredibly prevalent. The issue with this entry is there are no engaging or fun moments to cover up for these issues. Every single character evolves into some OP god when the plot needs them to, this time without explanation. Remember how the humans struggled to beat an Albion? Yeah well apparently now since it's the "last showdown", every holy knight can just blast through every single one of them. Maybe it's just because I have not been paying enough attention but honestly, I wouldn't even call it my fault for falling asleep halfway through a smoke-clogged fight.
TL;DR: With the number of fight scenes in this anime being clogged up in smoke, you'd wish you were in this anime because your lungs would die from the smoke before you'd die from Corona.

Welcome to Averageta: CGI Hell, the show where our MC gets transported into yet another isekai. In this show you'll see our MC, EdgyLord420 take on his greatest fears and grow as a person when he gets left for dead even though he should have the hero who saved the day in EP1. Now, he'll find himself not only lost in a labyrinth, but only lost an arm as well. Swearing to kill everyone in his path, he snacked on monster meat and immediately got a rage on boner and bulked up while also turning his hair cum-stained (see the cover picture) and of course,
...
the indispensable 'holy shit i can become overpowered with this'. Our hero continued his journey and made 'friends' with a loli vampire who is only 100000000000 years old, I assure you it's completely legal. Thus our hero's journey for 'I don't give a fuck about anything else, I just wanna go home' begins. So why watch this show? Well, you'll get a bonus scene that has never been created before in anime: Ass raping an actual CGI dragon with a big, bulky metal rod! You'll also get to see how amazing EdgyLord is at attracting a harem. Boy is he charming. Not good enough? How bout we bait you with a bunny girl? Or a nude loli vampire taking a bath with our MC? Or maybe you like the cool CGI that we stole from a 7th grader's summer project?
TL;DR: Everything about this anime screams mediocre except for the CGI, it melts your eyes and turns it into paste which you will then proceed to use as the dye to turn yourself into LordEdgy69. World building is decent at least.

Remember when Ergo Proxy aired and it instantly became a cult classic as the go to anime for the sci-fi genre? Well this show does the exact opposite. Not only does it shit on every fan of the sci fi genre but it gives the community a reason to hate sci-fi animes. Anyways, let's get on to my review/rant.
*minor spoilers ahead (not that it matters)*
Oh boy where do I even start? This anime definitely doesn't take itself seriously. Imagine if you're stranded in space and running out of food and water, surely you'd be panicking and desperately looking for a way to survive or get
...
help. This is where the show really struggled. The characters are seemingly tense in one scene and in a subsequent scene everyone turns carefree and seemingly enjoying being lost in space. This makes the show really incoherent and it's frustrating to follow. None of the characters are relatable or likable. In one of the episodes you'd get to see them toying around with alien fucking plants without a hint of fear or caution. In another episode they are for god knows why, incredibly cautious of a giant stalk of mushroom. This style of storytelling is unbelievably off-putting.
Another issue I had with the show is how they foreshadowed events. This is done in such a poor way that every time our group gets out of a sticky situation it'd always feel ex-machinasy. Everything just seemed to be conveniently ready to save our heros and heroines because the story would have given you enough exposition literally seconds before a predicament befalls our group to justify them overcoming some sort of obstacle. This undermines anything the group has been doing up to the climax of the episode. Clearly the writers don't understand the concept of show don't tell.
What really made me snap was the ending scene for the 4th episode where they pulled a 'power of friendship card' out of their ex-machina asses and thinking we'd be emotionally engaged with the so far most useless character in the show. I'd be emotionally engaged if it wasn't for the cancerous comic-relief moments littered everywhere throughout the entire episode and the characters just making really dumb decisions. (reminiscent of a particular Alien movie)
TL;DR: Characters are as likable as mould on your ceiling; storytelling that can only be appreciated by the most amateur anime viewers and dialogues as rough and cheesy as the smegma you've stored for a ritual to summon a decent cleaner to scrub your brain clean after finishing 4 episodes of this anime. If you're looking for a decent sci-fi anime, look elsewhere... this one is too overrated.

Short and quick review:
Ah here we go again, every season we find ourselves in this situation where an anime so mediocre with chracters so flat and bland it makes you wonder if you are ever going to see a SOL/romance/harem VN adaptation that doesn't suck.
I assure you, you have indeed watched Island before, but you just can't remember when and where, just like the MC in this anime, he just can't seem to remember how many girls he has slept with, just flashbacks. Sad indeed.
If you've watched any other mediocre trash of an anime, then rest assured that this one is no different, I've watched
...
enough anime of this sort to safely say that this anime is not worth your time, unless you wish to see an MC which is slightly edgier than other harem anime MCs, then by all means go ahead, but you'll soon be disappointed by how generic the heroines are.
Spoilers ahead:
One of the female characters said 'Mess me up' by the end of Episode 3 to the MC and I see this as doing a great disservice to an anime that is already pathetic to the point where I just ended up dropping it 4 episodes in. At this point it's basically just using fanservice as bait.
A good anime or rather any good story should make the audience understand what's going on as soon as the first episode ends. Sure, you may argue that great animes as such Steins Gate had a confusing start. However, what seperates Steins Gate from this anime in particular is that while we're unravelling the mystery with our MC, we have interesting characters to indulge in and also we get a gist of what's going on by the hints scattered in each episode, thus allowing us to formulate our own reasoning as to what is going on.
But with Island, you get a mystery anime that quickly turned into a SOL anime that has no obvious direction, no idea what it is doing and even the chracters just felt like it's there as bait. Even after 4 episodes the anime has not clarified a lot of things and instead spends time shrouding Rinne, the main heroine, with an added layer of mystery. At this point you will soon realize that Rinne is just set up as a bigger bait to reel the audience in for just a couple more episodes before finally deciding that this show is just not worth their time.
So, do we care about Rinne? Do we care about who the MC wants to kill? Do we care about the Island?
No, no and no because we won't get any questions answered by the end of this anime. You're better off treating this anime as a SOL anime.

A short review, very minor spoilers ahead
It is often said that a good anime fulfills certain criteria. For instance, captivate the audience with its premise and eventually deliver its promise to the audience by building a wonderful story based on that premise.
Unfortunately, Golden Kamuy is one of those animes with a premise that may or may not have been used many times over. Even until episode 6, it fails to deliver what it has built up in the first episode. Bear with me while I explain this. The main character, Sugimoto set on finding gold hidden somewhere whilst his only lead was that
...
the tattoos on a group of people who once shared a past with the only person who knew where the gold was hidden will make a map if all of them are collected. Sugimoto was not the only interested in the gold however and it becomes a cat and mouse chase to see who can collect all the tattoos first.
By the premise itself, it might be enough to keep the audience around. Now for the catch, this anime lacks proper pacing and feels very disjointed at times. The anime is interjected with segments about survival skills, bear hunting and even cooking. Now, if these segments were meant for character building only then it would blend well with the main plot. The problem arises when these segments take up so much runtime that it just feels unnecessary to advance the plot of the story. Though I have to say that these segments do indeed build up the characters of the main heroine and the relationship between her and the main character.
Does that make this anime unwatchable though? Should you stay away from this anime? Personally, I enjoy this anime, especially its likable characters and the side plot that I have mentioned. Character building is definitely a strong point of this anime to which the plot pales greatly in comparison to.
In conclusion, if you've come for the plot and expecting a lot of action, turn away now because this anime is relatively slowed paced because at 6 episodes in, I have yet to see a major turn of events that may implicate the protagonist in some way. (other than hunting for food and keeping the last silver fox from extinction)
