Oh lol, I meant more hardcore in the fact that you've played so many different titles. I'm super casual too, I can't do competitive gaming, my skills aren't that grand o3o. I mostly just blame my crappy equipment when it comes to pc gaming though so I feel slightly better :) . Never played Dark Souls, looks like Dante's Inferno though, I would be interested. That's pretty much all I played on my psp aside from Tekken, well until I got stuck... then I kinda set it down and never got motivated to pick it up again. Until I got my vita then I figured out how to get unstuck... and now I should keep playing it before I forget the controls again xD.

Oh :(, well that sucks I didn't know it got bad ratings. Just looked interesting. I still plan to play it though. Also have Lost Dimension downloaded but i'm with you I basically never play multiple routes... It drives me crazy replaying basically the same parts over and over. I've only done it with a handful of games like Root Letter that lets you skip over huge parts of the story to critical decision moments. Even then I still haven't finished every route. Not like that game was to get a true end though, but I just wanted to see all the endings, it had a good story.

I'm glad you enjoyed the plot armor xD. Oh Mass Effect is the best you say? I might have to check that out then. Best experienced in chronological order or should I shoot for Mass Effect 3 since it's newer? Assuming chronological since it's a trilogy but I've been told otherwise on multiple occasions so checking. I have monster hunter for psp but I never really got big into it, mostly was confused on what I was doing half the time. Idk, it's been years since I visited the franchise I probably was just being stupid at the time. We're talking way back in middle school... To be fair I also got really confused and lost in Final Fantasy X-2 mid way and gave up. So not the best at games back in middle school. At least not really straight forward games. I have X-2 on the vita, intend to revisit it (absolutely love the intro and characters) so I need to play it. Also should revisit Monster Hunter now that I probably wouldn't just get confused and move on. A bit more into challenges now as long as it's not grind challenges. You will never catch me playing top down view games like LoL :p, not my thing. I've never tried one so I'm really just judging from screenshots but I prefer more up close and personal, was addicted to the mmorpg Onigiri when it first came out, at least until college got in the way. Then the one friend I played with and I took a break on it and now just nope, all seems foreign now. Was fun back in the day though. Arguably better games out there but it was nice being one of the first people on the US servers when it was released. I'm with you though fortunately we're clear those games can really be a time sink.

I'm mostly a solo player too, or a friend or two at most. But I've never been one to do the large party or guild thing. Too much of a time commitment and people take it way too seriously. Maybe if it was a virtual game like you see in anime I could see sinking that kind of time investment into but for a regular game idk. That would have to be my primary hobby which it's really not, I'm a very casual gamer.

I wouldn't say much? I play some outside but I always end up getting suckered into games that have more of anime art aesthetic, they just generally appeal to me more. I mean I played Warface quite a bit reminded me of the mobile game called Eliminate I use to play a lot until the servers were shut down, is pretty much my favorite FPS because I can play it quick and casual. Though I suck at it and get my ass handed to me a lot. I enjoy playing Tekken, Street Fighter, and DOA. I have a back log of PC games I've been meaning to play that aren't anime related if that counts... Just most of my mobile games tend to be anime related I guess. It's hard to get time at my PC to play because I always end up watching anime instead. Kinda wish I could clone myself so one of me could watch stuff and the other could play but then I'd need another to read and so on.

I have these games though, don't think they're anime related. If you've played them should tell me if they're any good :).

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Bayonetta
Blades of Time
Layers of Fear
Minotaur
Mirror Layers
The Vagrant

Also have the Devil May Cry series but that has an anime.... so anime related? Idk you judge. Was interested in horror games and games that looked similar to Dante's Inferno or God of War if you can't tell :). Also any games that are futuristic or have different mythology in them.
Aka_Saber Apr 6, 2019 7:38 PM
Man you are hardcore. Then again I tried Dynasty Warrior too so I can't say it didn't interest me at all... i couldn't get into it though. But you really do know all styles and what to compare them too xD. I will admit Extella is super grindy. Wish it was less grindy, or at least my assist servants would pull better weight. Was just wondering if you had played it / completed it enough to get the Venus armor, but since you didn't like it that would be a no :3. I thought after I cleared Saber's route I was good to move onto Link for a while but nope just a third of the story, have to play all three routes to get the full story....and to unlock that armor -_-. Hurts my soul. Sometimes simple hack and slash games are nice. Sounds like you enjoy more story driven though? Do you avoid most fps, fighting, hack/slash games or just the really grindy ones? How about mmorpgs?

Have you played Mind Zero? Supposedly like Persona kinda. I downloaded it. Went through the opening. Looks interesting.
Aka_Saber Mar 28, 2019 9:50 PM
Have you played Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star?

Aka_Saber Mar 17, 2019 9:53 AM
Possibly, idk though. I don't think in some cases I would have got the same enjoyment out of a series if I had watched it in the alternative version. Case in point Dragon Ball Z and Kenichi, didn't care for Goku or Kenichi's voices which would have driven me crazy throughout critical parts of the series. Who knows, you may be right, maybe I'm bias because I heard the English first? But idk, a high pitched Goku is weird to me :p, especially in serious moments. Is that just in the games, I haven't seen the alternate anime I only watched 4 not golden. I should probably ask Kuromii for Golden, I didn't realize it was different. I always thought Golden was just a remake of 4 for the games so I assumed the same for the anime xD. But I liked Chie so idk if I want to make the adjustment... Oh ya, I definitely prefer subbed anime, the majority of mine is subbed, but sometimes it's refreshing to get a good dub in there too no matter how few there are. Like you said on the games though having the dub is nice for mid-fight or background. It's more difficult to read subs when you're trying to actively be in the game.

True, I did have the Japanese releases, but that was just to check them out. Couldn't play them much both because I didn't want to play with the Japanese voices I wanted the English ones and two because I couldn't understand any of the events or how to trigger them without the English text so it was like stumbling around in the dark. So didn't do much with them other than take a peak under the hood to see if they would be worth checking out later. I'm trying to go for all the s-links now but it'll take some time. I always forget Persona had DS game releases. Some of the screenshots make it look good, but I'm also not a big fan of dungeon crawlers. I might look into it though but idk, really depends on the feel. I have enough of a backlog of games if it's not to my taste I'd probably just move on. Wish I was better at focusing at games, I love them but I always want to sit and play them all day which I never end up being able to do and if I get pulled away too long I forget where I'm at or how to play then I lose motivation to pick it back up. That's kinda where i'm at with P3... I wanna pick it up and finish it but I'm also slightly confused on what I'm doing again O.o. Also really need to finish Final Fantasy X-2 but for the love of god I'll need to restart that because I don't understand anything anymore. Thankfully they re-released it on the vita so now it's portable!

Elizabeth was hilarious. Love her sense of humor. That and she's fun to tease in game. Good, I have those cut scenes downloaded too so I can watch those any time. Have you played both the male and female stories through? Is there a lot of variation of just minimal? I love how they did the opening on the portable where if you watch it upside down you get a different perspective.
It won't sony killed the vita officially and they have no intent to make another handheld by their own words.... Gone are the dreams of getting a P3 remake and a release of P5. Only hope for having P5 on my vita would be to get a Ps3 and remote play, talk about a huge investment for a single game. Well the Ps3 does have a large library but nothing I've looked into extensively, only things I knew for sure I would have wanted would have been P5 and Neptunia and Neptunia is already entirely released on PC and Vita so meh? Can't get caught up on other counsels, need to get caught up on my Vita, 3Ds, and PC games. I'm already terrible at doing that.

Koromaru should have been included in the Dancing Moon Night opening image :p. I was surprised to see a dog Persona user. Thought that was pretty cool. Pretty funny buying a figure set just for the dog xD. They should have given him his own dance track too. Probably just shoved poor Metis on the back of a shelf somewhere.

I guess I like Yukari mostly because of her voice, design, and the fact that she's the only one the MC really gets to interact with much on a romantic level? She seemed more approachable to me than say Mitsuru the top ranking valedictorian and student council president not to mention daughter of the head of some big company? Loved her character design but with those traits mixed with the fact that it seemed more like she was geared toward a MitsuruxAkihiko ship I couldn't do it. Then there's Aigis, didn't make it to her in game so I spent the least amount of time with her xD, loved her character though think she's absolutely hilarious and her face is cute can't say an android body does much for me... well in some pictures....But she kinda seemed more untouchable even though she was so sweet. So Yukari is defacto winner, good looks, nice voice, not so far out of reach, and interested in the MC? Perhaps why she became my favorite? Also I have some respect for her on the dieting and extremes she goes to to maintain her appearance? Kinda nice to see an anime character that has to struggle to keep appearance like a normal person, not just have it be flawless?

Kinda flat:

More like it:

I like all the Persona girls though, we left poor Fuka out but even she's cute

Spades-Deuce Mar 17, 2019 2:09 AM
Kuromii thinks you're both wrong for liking the dub and should be punished with death

*disappears again*
Aka_Saber Mar 16, 2019 10:35 PM
I love how the second film started :3, nice and steamy. I prefer all of their English voices, I just grinned, bared with it, and adjusted to watch the movies properly. Not the worst voice transitions I've ever experienced, they were all reasonably well done so I don't have any real complaints. But I really do wish they had dubbed it :( (Kuromii would disagree with us though ^.^). Oh yes, that scene was in the movie. Portrayed slightly differently but still hilarious. Really wish the psp version was closer to the ps2 version, but supposedly better game mechanics? Also umd compression would have been horrific for it... But still! I guess I could emulate on my pc but maybe second play through? Heard the controls are rough though. Might just look up the funny scenes online. Were is Persona 3 Silver, why did it never happen (Bias towards silver and golden was already taken even though gold would have matched Aigis xD).

Worth the slap:

Well it did kinda turn into a Ryoji show since they kinda had to push him and make his transformation somewhat significant to all of the characters in a short period of time? Perhaps it's a bit better played out in the game. I agree it was a bit rushed, I chalked it up to time skipping and plot convenience focusing on them. Already knew he was the same boy from Makoto's mind so knew he was gonna play some role... especially with Aigis' having her bad feeling and all. I like how they played Makoto in the anime because I feel like that's how I would play him in game, kinda sarcastic, snarky, emotionally passive, maybe a bit distant. I mean felt like it nailed his character. I kinda wish the Dance Moon Night would let me follow up on sarcastic comments, because like one asked if I ever did any dancing so jokingly answered yes to hitting up clubs and rather than be taken as a sarcastic joke it was taken serious... Like what... Meanwhile there is literally a scene in movie 4 were Makoto is with Elizabeth that plays out in a club and ofc Makoto isn't a dancer or a club person like I would assume, would have been out of character, hence I would assume sarcastic joke. But nope. Couldn't find video though. Pictures instead.

Oh don't get me wrong, I still plan to watch Persona 5. Just kinda sucks not being able to at least know what it's supposedly so bad against? Not like I can afford a p33, and no decent emulators exist that I believe can run it? I think there's one that can start it but with massive frame drops. But at least with Persona 4 that was my introduction to the series... I had never heard of Persona or its games... I just watched the anime and loved it so I looked more into the title. Then ofc found more stuff like Persona 3 & 5 around it as well as the games. Was just slightly bias considering I peaked at your score and saw a 7, assumed you didn't like it all that much or at least it was just average at best. Not too sure how to make my first exposure in the franchise a sub one either? Will be my first Persona with a sub entry? P3 and P4 I heard the dubs first....

Damn! I thought I beat you to playing Persona 3 Dancing! You snuck and got the ps4 version back in December didn't you? Could have swore last time we talked about it you said you hadn't got it yet. Has it really been that long? By the sounds of it you already beat it too. I just finished unlocking all the songs, going back and finishing the events now then going to clear all the levels.... Then start P4 Dancing. These games are nice short time passers before bed. Can play a song or two with no real investment. Glad you agree on P3 having the best music though. I ended up downloading the soundtrack, definitely not addicted to it or anything. As for the OLED difference idk probably not compared to the LCD... honestly it's not that big of a deal to me. But idk it just looks more vibrant on the vita when playing than on my computer. But i also have the brightness on my vita jacked too and it's playing at native resolution? My monitors on the other hand are older 1366x768 and even my tv has to be reduced so I can mirror my display out to it without glitching? Had these monitors for years. Would try it on my phone but again, phone has a case with technically two screen protectors... one that is built into the case and another which is just for anti-glare and anti-fingerprint that I added.... so reduced quality? Maybe I'm just seeing the video on an uninterrupted clear display? Maybe all of my anime is a lie. One day I'll have a better setup xD, but for now this is better than what I had when I was younger so it'll have to do.

How does Metis warrant a figma and Yukari doesn't deserve a figure :T. Sorry side tangent, just hurts. Lol well it's definitely not her sister, if you didn't tell me that was her sister I'd never have guessed. So I'll agree and just go color swapped. Kinda strange but eh, if it doesn't appear in game or get an explanation that must be it. Might watch the cutscene on Aigis' sister though just so I can see it, but later almost bed now.

OMG!!!! You're killing me!!! Poor Aigis how the cute have fallen!! Look what the zerg have done to you. It's like Fate all over again.

Aka_Saber Mar 15, 2019 10:34 PM
Aigis sees the embarrassing things you're doing right now. Better be careful :3.

Just finished the Persona movies!!!! God those were so good!! Took a bit of getting use to the sub voices since I'm use to the dub games but I got use to it after movie 1. I think that's why I didn't enjoy movie 1 as much, was kind of bias to the voices.... might go back and bump that score to a 9 tomorrow after I sleep on the finished set. Had to finally watch the movies, been getting into Persona 3 Dancing Moonlight and that's spoiler territory :p, still need to watch the video clips I downloaded for the FES game since apparently the PSP version removed them and I'm missing good stuff Orz.

Obligatory I've been dancing with your waifu a lot:

Gotta say, not knowing anything about her since I didn't make it far enough in game to unlock her at least in the original ps3 game the anime really opened my eyes. Yukari is still my biased favorite but Aigis killed me, every time she appeared the comic relief was great! She got all the best music moments too, nailed it on every seen. Like the one above when she was around the corner watching Shinji cook for the dog about killed me xDD or this one when she got them in the hot-springs, PRICELESS!! Lol unreasonable that her and Makoto don't get the same room, basically everyone get out. Take the balcony, no problem!

She had so many good scenes I could make an album of screenshots just on her alone. I was kind of shocked you had a lower score on movie 3 since she got some good scenes in it. But there was a considerable jump and it did feel like they left quite a bit out so I'm assuming you nicked it for that? I kinda did too but I was riding the high from movie 2 and I was pumped to give movie 3 a 9 too because of it all but decided on an 8 because of what felt like glossed over content. Understandable though considering they had to adapt a long game, even to do it in 4 movies wouldn't be easy. All things considered they did a pretty damn good job I think. Ofc I haven't actually finished the game so I'd love to get the opinion of someone who has. But judging by your scores I'd roughly say agreed? Loved the art, animation, and music though. What were some of your favorite scenes?

Now if only they could adapt Persona 5 properly o3o. Heard that one was pretty poorly adapted. We've got good adaptions for 3 & 4. Give me a better 5, I have no way to play it xD. God I actually need to play 4 still Orz.... and eventually finish 3..... But until then I will keep dancing! Speaking of which. Persona 3 Dancing, feel like it's better than 4 or 5... just sayin. Idk bias opinion. Haven't gotten further into the other games. Just the visuals and the music from the opening pull you in from the start and I prefer the music in 3 to 4... I'm hesitant to play 5 too deeply because I know nothing of 5...but the opening alone isn't on par with what 3 & 4 come out of the gate with? So I haven't really touched the other two. Been hitting 3 hard though. I mean just listen and watch this opening, I guarantee you it's even better on the vita keep in mind I only have an lcd one, I believe you have an oled if memory serves so more so.

^Movies never did explain black haired Aigis :T. I wayyy guessed wrong why she was fascinated with Makoto. Money was on her being like a dead sister's body reused as a body for a shadow killing android.... boy was I wrong ^.^;. Thankfully so because oh boy would some of her love scenes for him been pushing oreimo territory otherwise.
Aka_Saber Jan 30, 2019 2:59 PM
My internet was having issues yesterday too. Laptop wasn't even getting 1mb/s download.... had to keep restarting the router. It was odd.

Lol it's about 46°F here. 0°F would be like -17.8°C. That's dangerous yandere mode snow waifu territory. Glad it was warm. Hope you had lots of fun :).

Yep, been reading it on and off at work when I have some spare time. I'm only going to read what the anime covers unless they decide to stop making the anime in which case of course I'll continue on. I would hope Madhouse continue to produce it though considering I love the anime. Hmmm well I would say the anime does a solid job of world building that is harder to feel in the light novel since I'm not one for imagination, your mileage may vary what I can say it does do is make up for exactly what you say the anime lacks and that's character development. If you're looking for in depth psychological developments on the characters you get to be inside their heads in a way the anime doesn't really show you. Like take for example when Ainz is first transported to the new world and meets the guardians. His entire thought process isn't explained in the anime, you're just left to infer why he does what he does, but the Light Novel breaks down why he's acting a certain way. He actually has very meticulous reasoning for his cautious behavior and fears and expresses a lot of those concerns. I always felt like he was extremely relate-able in the anime but even more so in the light novel now. Also the light novel breaks down the magic system and scenes in the anime that made me notice moments that I otherwise would have missed. Things that went right over my head. Like for example Aura's ability in the fight with Shalltear or the Bipedal sheep. Oh the bipedal sheep I shared in Ainz's naivety in that subject matter when Demiurge explained it in the anime. But the light novel goes out of it's way for Ainz to expressly have a moment where he reflects on being naive about that very subject and proceeds without him catching on while giving the readers a chance to understand what it really means. Also, if you didn't catch it, don't google it. Let the light novel explain it :3. Flew right over my head in the anime, maybe it did yours too? Let me know. I would definitely recommend the light novels. You're absolutely right too, the art is gorgeous! So-bin's art work is fantastic. Each picture would make a fantastic art piece. I would love to get posters at some point of his work. You should read the first light novel at least and see if you like it :), only 290 pages including multiple character and art pages. So not a very long read to test the waters and get an opinion on. I'm not a big read so the fact I've managed to get to volume 5 casually reading should say something xD.

Congratulations on extending your field of specialty from nuclear physics to alchemy!!

Saw the posts on Facebook, sounds like someone has a way with words :D. Hit right in the feels. Nice job!

Aka_Saber Nov 14, 2018 2:48 PM
Hope you enjoyed lots of alcohol :D

Projects that last years O.o.... How do they make sure people actually stay long enough to finish? Are you guys on contract or something? Yuck open offices suck. I know the feeling, it's annoying as hell hearing everyone's phones going off and the constant hustle and bustle. At least your desk is your own though. I share a desk on rotation so I almost always come back from my day off to my desk reorganized and my monitor adjustments changed. 400 desks.... holly shit. I don't even think any company here aside from the national corporations even have that many employees. That's insane.

True, if you can afford the games there's no real point to it. I carry my vita with me all the time. That and I like having a large memory card in it so I can carry every game for multiple counsels. Goal is to have a 400gb card in it so I can have every vita, psp, gba, color, nes, snes, and basically any other game I want in my bag at any time. Ultimate portable counsel. Even though I never have enough time to play everything. But hey, if the power ever goes out I've got tons of options. Nice thing about the newer vita too is the usb micro b, plug that baby into a portable power bank and I'm good for days without power.

I love Kuroyukihime too. Especially her Silver Crow mode. Yum, it's what I play as in Accel World vs Sword Art Online since I unlocked her.

Idk, I personally really enjoyed Accel World, but I could relate to Haru and I enjoyed the other characters. Like you Kuroyukihime was my favorite though. But Nico, Fuko, and Chiyu were all fun too. I agree on SAO though, personally wanted more of the Aincrad story expanded and I didn't necessarily like how OP Kirito is. Probably the most annoying one was in Ordinal Scale were he barely trains IRL and manages to get OP even IRL. Like ok, so he's really good at video games but I liked that when given a dose of reality he was relate-ably normal just like everyone else. But then he trained for like a weekend and suddenly he was a good fighter. That's why I like Accel World more, their mental scars form their powers and the whole premise for the show is trying to overcome those issues and either failing or succeeding. Still annoyed Accel World isn't getting a season 2 and SAO isn't really developing as I'd like. Lisbeth is still best girl though. Gun Gale Alternative was pretty good too.

So am I to go into the third film super low expectations? Or were you just not in the mood the first time?

3 weeks O.O.... damn! That must have been nice. I can't see the light of ever getting that kind of time off again. I'm lucky to get 4 days off (considering I work open to close 4 days so I get 3 day weekend to even it out anyways).

Gotta admit little disappointed. When you said "Crystal Maiden" I was expecting Like a body encased in crystals

un-realistic expectations forsure xD. Ofc was expecting bone but picture serves are a reference to what I meant by encased in crystals.
That would really suck to end up like that after death. Well at least as a girl, for a guy turning out looking badass like that might not be so bad. Become a bone daddy.

Damn man some people have no respect. At least if you're going to try to take pictures don't get so close to the bones you could drop something on them. Or get a camera strap. If i were the tour guide i'd be pretty upset having to explain that to my boss.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
