Oh I forgoforgot to change my username there but oh well. Thanks for finding me.
Am might write a follow up Darling in the Franxx piece explaining the tragedy apart about it

NISA's certainly the butt of every localization group. They're no Xseed, or Atlus, or Idea Factory, or even Aksys. And aside from their inhouse stuff like Disgaea, there's very little to release. That they fucked us Ys 8 to this extent just furthers their eventual demise by incurring the wrath of Falcom fans.

Yup, KH III is on its way. I honestly doubt I'll be able to catch up in time for the release date, but 2019's a long year. So maybe I'll get to it then.

The lengths some people go to justify FranXX. They should just let it go and move on. It happened, it sucked, so let's go to better shows.

I think you're thinking of Ys 8 for NISA's fuck up. Grandia hasn't had a main series entry since 2005. Still, this does remind me I need to get more into Falcom stuff, heard they're a godsend for their genre.

as for Lucasljsilva's "review"...*breaths heavily* oh yes, everyone who hates FranXX are just SJW's who hate the straights. That's why the majority of reviews complained about the crap writing and terrible characterization, right? Hell, me personally I hate relationships so much my favorite anime is about a relationship with themes of parenthood. But how can I argue with such brilliant arguments as:

>"support, love, companionship, things that ONLY ARE REAL IF THEY ARE BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN."
>"people giving 1 for the show don't care for anything else beside their personagem Ideology Agenda"
>"acting as if a mother living HER OWN CHILD is wrong."

honestly, I can't tell if this guy is a troll or not, but these sort of nutjobs do exist. When watching FranXX, I actively avoided viewing the show in any political lense because I wanted to judge it on its own. And what a surprise, on its own it STILL SUCKS! This was, however, an entertaining and quite hilarious read.

That is so true and factual. Franxx is such a disgrace to modern anime. Am glad me and my good MAL friends burned the show to the ground
Once the friend request option is back I will add you :)
It's been fun talking to you.

majestic. it shall be put to good use. and with list viewing back, we are one step closer to the MAL of old (list affinity is still down sadly)

it's from a PS1 JRPG called Grandia. Just started playing it a while back and it oozes that old school adventurous tone that I just adore. I mean, just listen to the main theme:

c'mon on man, J.C. Staff's B Team needs something to do while everyone talented is on Planet With. Putting that aside this is the first I've heard of this show and looking at its MAL page it looks so not my thing.
PhantomKurata Jul 18, 1:33 AM
I still have to watch episode 2 tbh. I let you know my thoughts on it soon.
Prideful_Master Jul 16, 7:57 PM
Yup, and damn, that ending! Planet With shows how to properly subvert expectations. I thought we'd get a hero of the week type structure, but NOPE! There all confronting Souya at the end, and lord knows what happens next. We don't deserve a show like this, man. This strikes me as the sort of show that, once it's all over, rewatching it would change everything we think we know now. Can't wait to see what happens next. And I've heard about their being a manga. Would look into it more, but y'know spoilers and all.

Considering this is an entirely original show, we'll be fine. There's a lot of moral ambiguity and mystery surrounding a lot of things. It's gonna be a blast piecing it all together.
Prideful_Master Jul 10, 6:48 PM
Yup. That was a very :O episode. Somewhat awkward CG aside, it's very promising. Seems to have its head on its shoulders too; everything seems planned out pretty well. Here's hoping it sticks the landing.

Least Franxx is over for good.
Hopefully Trigger will do better next time.

On the good news Planet With had a great first episode ^_^
Prideful_Master Jul 8, 8:10 PM
Some people, I swear to god. They've attached their identity to loving FranXX, so saying that it went off the rails would invalidate their existences. Kind of sad, honestly. Is it that hard to call a bad show bad?

In much happier news, Planet With is already shaping up to be something really strong. The first episode was extremely interesting, has cool ideas, and generally made me extremely interested in what could come. It also had a real sense of confidence to it, a feeling that everything's thought out super well. The writer's the mangaka behind Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, and I know some folk who swear by it. So I'd recommend you check it out.

Yo I watched the first ep of Hataraku Saibou and it was really good, it taught me biology better than actual school did! It was funny how Red was new to the job and because she was a newbie she naturally learned about the parts of a cell, which is a great protagonist for a series like this because it allows us to learn alongside her without it feeling like forced exposition. And the action scenes were a lot of fun too, expectedly of the director of Stardust Crusader.
