I'm Harubruh, or just Haru. Whichever works for you. I'm a co-author at For Great Justice who usually rambles about a handful of irrelevant shows every season. I'll get to writing another solo piece one of these years. You can check our stuff out at the link below: http://djuckudynasty.wordpress.com
As for me? I'm just a 26 year old dude from the Dallas, Texas metroplex who bears the worst kind of love-hate relationship with his hometown. Aside from my desk jockey job that gets the bills paid, I help out on weekends at one of the local craft beer breweries. If I'm not at home or at a game, I'm taking in the local beer scene.
Aside from my penchant for Japanese animation, I'm a devoted baseball fan and follower of the Oakland Athletics and other baseball leagues worldwide. Don't ask how a Texas boy ended up rooting for a team from the Bay area, it's a long story. I also watch motorsprots such as (but not limited to) Formula 1. I also enjoy watching curling, javelin, ping-pong, or volleyball more than seems reasonable.
I haven't attended college in nearly five years, but I still study meteorology as an avid weather nut with an interest in hurricanes and tornadoes. I tend to stand outside during a storm to watch rather than take shelter; I've inadvertently witnessed two tornadoes and nearly been stuck by lightning as a result of that habit.
I like music, though my mainstream-ass musical tastes mostly seem to be perpetually stuck in 2006. I'll listen to anything but country music. Most new stuff I try is stuff thrown my way by Yata, my fellow contributor. I can play the bass guitar, but I haven't practiced regularly in over a year because I don't like people hearing how crap I am at it.
I've been fond of anime ever since my obsession with Speed Racer from the age of 4. Nowadays I watch as much as I can, which is probably more than it needs to be. My past favorites include Speed Racer, Fruits Basket, and Cromartie High School. Kyoto Animation, Bones, and Trigger go down as my current favorite studios. I tend to gravitate to well-done working (and/or) slice-of-life shows. Mushy shoujo fluff shows are my not-so-guilty pleasure. I'll give just about any show a chance, for better or worse
0: Big Order. (the rating system on here only goes so low)
1: A hateful abomination upon mankind, a plague upon anime itself. Just an all-around atrocity.
2: A pretty god-damned awful shitshow, but perhaps had maaaaybe one redeeming thing about it.
3: Almost insufferably bad, but boasts at least some sort of commendable element.
4: Generally loathesome show that may have shown potential only to squander it.
5: Mediocre. Didn't offend enough to warrant an immediate drop, but certainly didn't get the job done.
6: Good, but not great. Had potential for better but lost steam.
7: Satisfying watch. Enjoyable as a whole despite what share of minor foibles it may have.
8: A sublime show. Generally the most enjoyable shows but not "objectively perfect."
9: Essentially perfect. At this point any mistakes don't really matter. Will rewatch over and over.
10: Flawless. A masterpiece. An all-time great. Whatever other superlative you can imagine.
