Stumbled back onto your profile and I've seen that you are dealing with Anhedonia. I had a close friend who had the same problem but it was with his track and field activities. He always used to be smiling and telling me about the rush he'd get when he heard the gun go off at the start of the race. He was pretty disinterested with almost everything for the last 6 months but he's good now. I'd say the best way to get over it is to just avoid the things you've loved before as much as you can, while pursuing things that you never would have thought of doing. For my friend, believe it or not, anime was what helped him enjoy his time away from sprinting. I gave him a few anime recommendations to get started, basic stuff like My Hero Academia and a few other casually enjoyable series for newbies and now he's back onto the track and smiling every time he gets to run.

I understand that your situations are completely different but I thought I'd spend 5 minutes just trying to help someone out. Little things count :)

KLK is easily the anime I've had the most enduring connection with as I mentioned in my tag for it. I don't ever see it falling out of my top 5 or 10. Eva lingers in my mind everyday and has fundamentally changed me as a person, plus it likely has my favorite directing out of any anime.

if it's any consolation, I wonder if FLCL is still #1 but the impact HxH had on me absolutely can't be understated

Same here, but sometimes people have opposite tastes to me and I think it's interesting. I have a buddy who we don't see eye-to-eye almost ever, but I respect his phrasing and writing so much I friended him anyway. I hope they feel likewise ^^.

Yeah, it's pretty cool how that lines up. I plan on watching KareKano soon so maybe that'll be a 10 as well. I hear good things about it.

Hey man thanks for the friend request, I send a lot out to people I think may have similar taste or views as me, or just generally seem interesting. With that said I'm surprised I haven't sent one to you first, we must've crossed paths someplace. Not to say we have perfect 1:1 tastes, we may disagree heavily on some things, but you seem pretty cool nonetheless.

Imma be honest, a lot of your opinions trigger me hard, lol. But we seem to share a lot of favorites anyway and variety in friends' tastes is a good thing plus you defend your feelings well so sure, I'll accept. :)
