Sick new layout! Yeah, it's great. I actually watched it for something in particular but I'll tell you about that later.

No stress! I'm incredibly inactive myself, as I'm sure you can tell from this very response.
Big fan of Megazone 23, huh? Still haven't gotten around to it myself, but when I do I'll try and let you know.

Oh no worries! Thank you for adding me back! And thank you, I'm liking Trigun a lot. I'm on episode 25 I think. I'm sad about Wolfwood, but I'm still enjoying it a lot.
So have you watched anything good recently?

Gotta love Nene <3

Happy birthday, champ!

Here's to another great year!

I'm definitely gonna have to end up watchin Prison School one of these days. Speaking of ridiculous and funny; have you heard of Utsu Musume Sayuri? It's only three and a half minutes long, and well... I'll just let you watch it yourself. It's pretty interesting to say the least, heh. Kennel Tokorozawa is also up there but I think I already talked about that one before. I've got it downloaded on my computer so I could upload it to a Drive if you can't find it online.

I mean I watched the first two episodes so I could might as well finish it since it's short. Wanna watch it after we've completed K-On and the Rurouni Kenshin OVA?

I see you're watching Prison School! How are you liking it so far?

I'm not even sure if we have tater tots or hash browns over here. I think I may actually have had tater tots like once when I was in America but I can't remember. They look really tasty though.

Sounds rough... Getting scolded at is never fun. I really hope that gaming session with your brother made up for it though! Now that I think about it, I don't remember ever playing Resident Evil myself. Like, not even via emulation. I think it's been one of those games that I never bothered to get around to due to its popularity. It gets a bit redundant to me when I see a game in every top 10 list ever made. It makes games feel less special to me when I see everybody putting the same game in their favorites list which is also the reason why I will never in my life play Skyrim. Then again that game looks like it was made from the ground-up to appeal to me ass little as possible, but I digress. I may have to get around to 2 or 4 some day at least, or the first one for the voice acting alone. I remember getting the "master of unlocking" badge on Backloggery and bursting out laughing.

I watched the whole damn thing. In retrospective, I have no idea how I managed to sit through it all. Maybe I just got so numb to it that my curiosity carried me through to the end. At least it was short which is more than I can say for most movies. I watch a lot of these super hero movies with my buddies and they're some of the most painful movies I've ever had to sit through. Most of the ones I've seen are close to 3 fucking hours and are just filled with the safest and most predictable shit possible. The Emoji movie at least made me feel something - feelings of disgust but at least it invoked some sort of reaction out of me. Watching super hero movies is about as entertaining and meaningful as staring at a blank wall for me. And if you like those movies; that's fine. I just don't.

I didn't even know they made a Silent Hill film. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever played any of the Silent Hill games either... weird. Which one would you start with?

I got the sudden burst of motivation to download a bunch of hentai so I could send some to you. I download each of the pages manually because I don't want to make an account, so it's pretty time consuming but over all worth it in the end. Downloaded a bunch of loli shit, too, because that's like what I am way the fuck into right now. Decided to leave them out because I'm pretty sure you don't fuck with that shit. Do tell me if you want me to drop them there anyway.
haydenluvsanime Dec 7, 2018 4:33 AM
Damn, you're making me hungry just by mentioning that! I'm pretty sure I've never actually had tater tots before... They look delicious though. My favorite dish has got to be curry with chicken and rice though.

Did you have a good birthday? Did you do anything special? I remember actually going to the Emoji Movie when I turned 17. I was hoping for a "so bad it's good" kind of movie, but it turned out to just be awful in the worst way possible. Still did some other fun things that day though so I didn't completely regret being born in the first place.

Thanks, man! Rikka will rule over us all one day.

By the way, go check the google drive. I'm uploading some new stuff there. You could say it's a late birthday gift, hehe. Mostly doujins so far but I'll see if I can also toss in a few OVAs in there.

Happy birthday fellow Asian cartoon lover! I hope you'll have a very sugoi day today!

This one, perhaps?: https://myanimelist.net/anime/5554/Eguchi_Hisashi_no_Nantoka_Narudesho
I remember seeing it in your list and checking it out because it's one of very few anime that start with the letter 'e.' Go look up how many anime start with 'e' for yourself; you'd be surprised. Sadly that OVA isn't really that noteworthy. It's like a weird training video? I think??? Like one of those you would find in the 80's. I also find it really interesting that Rintaro worked on it (Galaxy Express 999, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Astro Boy)

Yeah, that one.

Yeah I totally agree with you. Overall I think MAL does a pretty good job with its database, but it could always be better. Making a database for video games would be next to impossible I think. Okay, maybe it wouldn't be that difficult to make databases for more modern consoles, but how would you make a database for the NES/Famicom for example? Would you include unlicensed games? What about those games that are so rare; people are unsure if it even exists in the first place? Then have all the different consoles which would be a total mess. Have fun adding all the fucking pong consoles or Pac-Man ripoffs.

A D2 manga, huh? Is it this one?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiqTIW3yfTw
Kinda want to get my hands on this actually. Looks really freaking cool and I'm a sucker for rare things. Do you have a copy?

I remember finding Belladonna of Sadness on Kissanime a while back. Only problem... Kissanime, y'know. I can just watch it on my Wii U though so that won't be a problem. Just gotta find a time to watch it. The fact that it's listed as a hentai kind of bugs me though. Might just have to make an exception for my list because I wanna refrain from adding hentai, shorts, or anything of that kind. I've seen probably all of those Dementia shorts listed on MyAnimeList, but I feel like those entries just kind of clog up my list. I'd easily have over 500 anime listed if I included shorts and hentai.

I know right? High Score Girl feels like the very definition of "don't judge a book by its cover." CGI is a big turnoff for most people, I get that, but High Score Girl does so many things right that it makes you look past its somewhat mediocre visuals. I don't even think the show looks terrible necessarily, but I would've preferred if it was in 2D. It's just so charming and full of personality. Haruo has got to be my favorite male lead in recent years. Such a breath of fresh air to get someone you can actually relate to instead of all these god-awful Light Novel protagonists aimed towards the lowest common denominator losers of the anime community. It's shows like High Score Girl that make me more hopeful for anime in the future.

Urusei Yatsura is friggin' great. I was a bit skeptical at first because of the length, but it's been a blast so far. It far exceeded all of my expectations; that's for sure. Lum kinda reminds me of Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx, but a lot better in my opinion. Zero Two made Franxx somewhat more watchable for me because I found her to be the most interesting thing in the show, but unlike Franxx; Urusei Yatsura isn't a complete disaster. I actually find it genuinely funny a lot of the time, despite it being very Japanese. There's a lot of Japanese humor that I don't get at all, but Urusei Yatsura keeps things simple and fun. Lum is easily the best part of the show though. She's probably the first "waifu" character that the anime community ever got, and she's still charming and lovable as hell.
haydenluvsanime Nov 23, 2018 6:51 AM
Those shorts are actually the whole anime. Each short is around two minutes, I believe. There's no studio or anything attached to it so I'm pretty sure Kago Shintarou just made all of it by himself.

I think most Junji Ito's one-shots are usually part of other collections on MAL, it's weird. Kago Shintarou also had a similar problem going on; I remember trying to look for a short he made called Silent Night on here, but ultimately I ended up finding it as a part of Kijin Gahou, even though I read it as a one-shot somewhere. I get what you mean though. I'm pretty sure they still haven't added the Yu-Gi-Oh! season 0 manga to the database yet. They have an "alternative version" to the season 1 manga, but that one only has one volume and four chapters - it's not what I'm looking for. I had to set the season 1 manga to complete and mention in my tags that it was actually the season 0 manga, but why do I need to do that? The season 0 anime is on MAL, so why not also add the manga? I did actually find the Snow White one-shot though. Not sure about the others you mentioned, but here you go: https://myanimelist.net/manga/87384/Ito_Junji_no_Bishoujo_Zankoku_Douwa__Shirayukihime-hen

I saw you completed Belladonna of Sadness! I haven't seen it myself yet, but the cover art reminds me a lot of the other 1001 Nights movie, which I love: https://myanimelist.net/anime/3914/1001_Nights

How do you feel about High Score Girl so far?
haydenluvsanime Nov 22, 2018 3:12 PM
The anime isn't necessarily awful or anything (certainly better than all of Ito's works sadly,) but his manga is far more impressive. The anime is barely animated at all, but sometimes it plays to its strengths with some really interesting imagery. It's certainly unique to itself; you won't find any other anime quite like it.

I actually went back to our old Backloggery PM's a couple days ago and saw your Junji Ito comments. I believe you read Tomie and Uzumaki. Ma no Kakera would probably have to be my favorite besides Uzumaki. I'm pretty immune to horror for the most part, but even that manga managed to send some chillds down my spine. Shit's great. I don't think I've ever mentioned it before but School Ninyou is another one of my favorites. I think I read it around two years ago, maybe? The artwork's great and I found the story to also be really interesting. Go check that one out too if you think it looks interesting.

Mai-chan no Nichijou is fucking great. Most of Waita Uzagi's works are brutal as hell. Rape, abuse, torture, and so much more!

She's Rakka from Haibane Renmei; same character designer from the guy who did Serial Experiments Lain! Yoshitoshi Abe is such a great artist, man. While I haven't seen any of the other shows he's worked on; Haibane Renmei and Lain are definitely my favorites when it comes to character designs. I also really like his character designs in NieA Under 7. Should probably get around to that show soon.
haydenluvsanime Nov 21, 2018 12:48 PM
Saw you added the Kago Shintarou anime to your plan to watch list!

Have I ever talked about him before to you? If not, you NEED to check out like everything he's ever made. Seriously, I think you'd love his stuff. Lots of hyper surrealistic and gorey artwork. He even does hentai! Now that's really something you need to experience for yourself, haha. Shit's fucked up and I love it.
