While Naruto really isn't that bad, I don't blame you not giving it another try. The first half of the series is good all around, but the second half gets worse in the most important areas, characters , etc. but improves in about 1 area, story. I'd say go with if you got nothing else to watch,
The beginning of One Piece is slow, and to be honest with you it wasn't that great (even though I still liked it a lot). It starts to get better at around Episode 19, and literally only gets better from there on. I'll admit that I'm a fanboy of the series, but I'm not going to hate on you for not liking the series. But you have to give it a little longer. The story doesn't even begin until they get into the Grand Line and from there on its amazing.
I say give it until the part where they meet Sanji, the cook or the part where they meet Arlong, a Fish-man. It may seem like a series for kids but it has some very deep and dark parts in it for example: racism, slavery, government corruption, loneliness, etc. tied in with great adventure, characters and comedy. Not to mention it has one of the most bad ass anime characters I've ever seen.
BUT I will admit its not for everybody. I do appreciate you giving it multiple tries though.
Gintama is another series I have to waste my life on. DAMN YOU ANIME!
Damn those last 2 episodes with Marco and Scar were awesome. Kinda emotional too.... it almost made me tear up. Manly tears that is.
Damn you need to watch more One Piece (heh listen to me, I'm the one that has to stop planning on re-watching crap and check out more series, that'll be next year), talk about an anime with everything.
