I've been watching Clannad After Story and am confused by how Tomoyo constantly leaves Ushio (his five year old child) alone. Examples being leaving her out in a field while went on a walk, leaving her by herself at home, and leaving her alone in other public places
I am American so it is possible that this is just a cultural difference and the places where this happens are actually safe, but it seems so odd that he just seemingly abandons her in places where she could easily be harmed
Just started watching Clannad. One of the most amazingly well done show openings I have ever seen. The first 1.30 was actually breathtaking in it's complexity
......................................................
The bleak colors
The music
The flashes showing how time passes with no change
The clock showing the time passing
The bright sun and cherry blossoms grayed out as though what is happy is being completely ignored
Okazaki's body language expressing his lackluster and exhaustion
The choice to stop the music when he meets the girl, and the focus on her breath
The lighter theme expressing the change that is taking place, though the bleak color remains
The angle when he walks up the hill, and the emphasis on height showing how he is climbing (or almost being pulled) out of his current state
The color flashes contradicting the earlier bleak flashes
