Functional adult during the day, closet otaku as night falls

Updated: PERMANENTLY MIGRATED TO (SUPERIOR) ANILIST. MAL's management is incompetent garbage and utter trash with no API support since 2018

In lieu of the recent MAL fiasco and the indefinite suspension of MAL API for undefined period of time (which renders 3rd party application such as Taiga useless), my profile's Anime list will not be updated from May 25th 2018 onward. However, my profile will be semi-maintained in case if MAL API ever comes back online (and MAL pull their shits together).

I have migrated to Anilist. Nothing comes close to its superb API support, minimalistic and futuristic web design.

I can't hide my disappointment and frustration towards MAL management and its staff on how they handled the recent fiasco. They both equally share the blame, even if they're pointing fingers at each other. The last straw was the indefinite suspension of MAL API WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. Due to the sheer volume of my anime viewings-per-season (20+ show per season), using MAL website to manually update my list is a hassle and impractical hence the need to use 3rd party application.

MAL took down their API by simply citing 'security issues' without disclosing further info. Being a long-time MAL Supporter, it was the biggest act of back-stabbing I've ever seen by a well established community and it came without warning.

We're approaching 2019 and while many other anime communities went forward by integrating and constantly improving their web infrastructure and API support, MAL went back to the stone age. Lack of transparency, management/staffs incompetency, poor PR practices and communication breakdown sums up the current state of MAL.
