Although this was by far a generic sword action harem, it was entertaining enough to keep me reading until the end.

Story: 7
As generic as you can get. Main male lead is an underdog with a special trait/hidden ability/unique circumstance. Male lead enrolls in some academy/contest to reach/find a dream. Male lead encounters pretty girls who falls for his strength/character. Plot twist/conflict occurs and male lead has an epiphany of some sort, resolves the conflict, and then swears to work towards the future for a new dream. Similar premise and feel as Rakudai Kishi, Seirei Tsukai, Juuou Fafnir, Absolute Duo, etc.
The story doesn't end conclusively, but read more

A superb, adorable, and funny school SOL. If you like super-helpful, OP main characters, then this is for you!

Story: 9
Premise of the story is fairly unique, but simple. Nanige is an entity in the school who helps people out when they are in trouble, no matter what kind of trouble. She also does it well...for the most part. Hilarity ensures.
Even though it's an SOL, there's a subtle yet complex story line in Tonari no Nanige-san. There are aspects of romance, as expected of a school-life story, as well as many other themes like conflict between siblings, self-appreciation, obsessive love, etc. They're never an overwhelming part read more

This story is exactly what Nisekoi would be like if Raku and Chitoge were reincarnated. Not only are their names similar, they bicker all the time. But, that's as far as the similarities go.

Story: 9
Very nicely paced. The romance progresses well in this series, at least on the part of the heroine. The story itself is very cute and sweet, and definitely a good pick-me-up after some heavy drama. The only issues I have with this series are: (1) Sometimes, the story advances a little too quickly, so that it feels almost unbelievable. In a way, the author "timeskips" what should be important thought processes read more

This series isn't for everyone. If you're looking for some deep story progression, interesting plot twists, or drama, this is not for you. BUT, if you're just looking for a nice, standard romance with light conflict to enjoy, then it's highly recommended.

Story: 7
Very predictable if you've read a LOT of romance manga, but also at the same time not. While it's clear who the MC ends up with at the beginning, the leading up to it still leaves plenty of room for surprises, mostly pleasant ones. The conflicts introduced in this series is often quickly resolved, and usually with little effort, so you can rest read more

Fans of monster girls, you've got to try this!

Not only is this a new take on the idea of monster girls, it's one of the better slice of life love comedies out there. If you like Ojojojo, Ninja Shinobu, etc., you will love this.

Story: 9
Perfect slice-of-life elements. The only pity is that it's too short. Sweet, to the point, and funny, this will lift your spirits after wading through a swamp of trashy dramas. It wraps up pairings nicely, without making anything feel forced, and it's one of the first romance where a confession doesn't occur, and isn't necessary at all.

Light-hearted, amusing, and absolutely cliche, this fanservice, run-of-the-mill ecchi manga is a good pick up when you're bored.

Story: 7
For a short manga, it progresses properly and ends. That's something you can't say about a lot of other manga. The romance ending isn't super conclusive, but it works. The romance itself isn't anything new, but it works. The action sequences are average, but it works. The humor is standard fare, with boobies abound, but it works. All of these things work in this manga because it doesn't try to sell itself as more than it is, and if you approach the story with that mindset, it's read more

A so-so manga that's fine to read when you're absolutely bored.

Story - 7/10
Overall story progression can be very confusing, especially with the currently available translation. Had to re-read pages at times just to understand what's going on.
There is a decent amount of attention given to world creation, including explanation of the games and abilities. That said, the relationship between the abilities characters have and the actual games seem underwhelming and mismatched. The world concept is pretty original, but quite confusing.
Pacing of the story is way too quick. All of the character interactions feel incredibly rushed, and events that occur in the course of read more

A lot of reviews seem to praise this manga. Although I find it an ok read, I definitely wasn't pleased with the story.

*SPOILERS AHEAD. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK*

Before I go into details, keep in mind that this isn't an issue with who was coupled together, but the way there were coupled. I will ty to keep spoilers light, but no promises.

Story - 6/10
Pretty standard romcom that got a little better near the end. However, my biggest issue with this story is how forced it feels. It's incredibly obvious that the author intends to "ship" a particular pair, and goes to great lengths to bend read more

Other reviews will probably give you a good idea of how the manga is so I'll take a slightly different approach.

If you want to see an example of GOOD supporting characters and good friends, read HajiOtsu.

The story itself isn't anything to boast about, but it feels nice to read a manga where the MC has a great pair of friends who aren't just helping him forward but also looking out for him and for each other.

That, coupled with the sweet story and great art will definitely result in a nice read anywhere, anytime. Can't say I will re-read, but can't say I don't want read more

Wow. This is definitely a hidden gem. I wouldn't consider it one of my all-time favorites, but it was certainly super enjoyable.

Story - 10/10
Story concept is incredibly original, and was definitely pulled off well. I came into the manga expecting it to be a drama-filled, pity-the-MC sort, but it definitely betrayed my expectations, for good. Pacing of the story was nice. Humor was well-placed. Drama is relatively light, although it definitely picks up a LITTLE towards the end, understandably.
Despite what people say about the author ending it a bit quick, I thought the ending was perfect. Sure, it could have used a little more romance read more
