Just got off the phone with my nephew, he heads out to Fort Sill, Okla tomorrow. Gave him some advice, told him I am proud of him and so is his aunt, my wife. We are both retired combat vets (yeah, I am old-er). Her military roots goes back to the Red Coats of the British Army; every generation in her tree has had someone in the military. They have fought in every war our nation has been in, and in the case of the Revolution, on both sides.

No offense taken, especially when you were obviously open to a whole different angle. I was truly surprised.
The unit I belonged to is in the National Guard. There are a lot of pros of the guard, but unfortunately, there are some cons as well. There is a dual edged sword of the guard, we don't do this for a living and when our rotation/training/duty weekend is up, we go home, unlike our active brothers/sisters who must eat/live and shit army day and night. That's the good. The bad is we get to go home...there is no battle buddy at home to make sure your shit is wired tight. You may not see your buds until next drill weekend or for 90 days after you return from a stint in the desert. You can fool your spouse/family but you can't fool your battle buddy, but if he/she isn't there like they were when we were in the desert, you feel alone...your spouse/family has no idea what you went thru, they can't relate and all you want to do is to talk to someone who ate the same dirt you did.

i have 2 palms. i use them for lots of things. like eating and typing... i also have oppasable thumbs. You're idiotic for believing that just because someone labels you a pawn that it makes you a pawn. They've been played, betrayed or whatever and it makes you the pawn? shouldn't it be the other way around? aren't they just decieving themselves because they're truely the pawn?

Well, I can watch almost anything, my shounen would be my favourite xD They are just the most interesting and easy to watch, you know, when you start you can't stop xDDD But I also love seinen, comedy, mystery, horror, slice of life etc. xD
