I had a Mal account around 2011. I lost my login, email, username and anyone who I was in contact with.

I decided to give MAL up but have recently made a comeback and looking to get back into it.

Welcome to the chaotic corner of MAL where I (somehow) manage to combine intense anime marathons with deep philosophical debates over whether instant ramen counts as a personality trait.

You can call me followkata(or the mysterious shadow lurking in the “currently watching” section at 3 a.m.).

Age: Old enough to appreciate classics, young enough to still get excited about seasonal waifus

Location: Somewhere between reality and the next episode

Status: Alive, caffeinated, occasionally wondering why I’m crying at slice-of-life endings

Anime taste?
Oh, it’s everywhere. One minute I’m sobbing over Your Lie in April, the next I’m yelling at the screen during Attack on Titan.

Emotional gut-punches (Clannad, Made in Abyss)

Action hype machines (Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, dragon ball)

Dark horse gems (Erased, Steins;Gate)

Slice of life healers (girls und panzer, non non biyori)

Music is my life (k-on, Mygo, bang dream, zombieland saga, beck, nana)

Sports (slam dunk, haikyu)

Romcoms ( toradora, love is war, sakurasou, quintessential quintuplets)

Isekai (konosuba, reincarnated as a slime, overlord)

Sci-fi( Gundam iron blood orphans, legend of the galactic, space battleship Yamato, Sidonia)

And yes — everything in-between from ecchi to obsecure trash tier comedy because balance is important.

I'm actually Japanese so I'm well versed in the culture , language, and of course many topics related to anime and manga in Japan and North America.

I'm also into creating AI art as a hobby, I used to dj and create music.

Thank you for all the recommendations that you listed. And yes, I like Haikyu too. I used to play a lot of volleyball, so it's a nice watch. And fun watching a lot of the characters too. I've also seen Anohana or ano hi mita hana too. I partially remember some of the story,

It's been so long, probably have to see it again. But yeah, I'll look into the other ones you mentioned. I heard of some but haven't given it a chance yet. Thank you again.

To explain more, hmm it can have romance or comedy but doesn't necessarily have to. Maybe something where there in college or adulting. Does not have to be the case but a story with inspiring themes (strong work ethic, positive mindset, not giving up) or life lessons (concerning relationships, crushes, friendships, work, academics, etc. (doesn't exactly have to be all this).

And yeah, I see that with Hyouka too so far. Something about the animation and art makes it different. And the characters like you touched on, like their topics for discussion and their bond as friends. It's funny because for the first three episodes I wasn't sure that I was going to continue this anime to be honest but decided to give it another chance. And so far, I like it.

But yeah, how would you say you like MAL or your experience here? Does Mal look different compared to when you used to come here?

But yeah, for me just made an account not too long ago, I thought this site would be a good way to remember the pieces I've read or seen. And I like looking at reviews too. At some point I would like to write my own. I also wouldn't mind connecting with other people but probably will take me some time XD. This other site called Anilist is cool too and has the same purposes

hii,,I'm so sorry for responding late after being online for a while. Didn't mean to give off the impression that I'm ignoring you. I overthink and get nervous a bit to be honest when it comes to talking to new people online. So, the message ends up getting sent way later than it should XD. Like I still get a bit nervous, but I feel like talking to people in person can be easier because you don't have time to think, you just talk. But trying to work on that. But anyway, to respond to your message, thank you for being honest. And yes, I really like your writing style. Like before I say this, I know I've given compliments already. I don't want you to think I'm being insincere or trying to flatter you. But to be honest, before I decided to check your page after reading a review, I assumed that you are probably going to have many followers and likes for your reviews. Not to look down on you, any number of followers or likes is okay, but just think you deserve more attention. But yes, that is all.

Also sure : ), you too,,hmm do you have any slice of life recommendations? Like ones that motivate people to work hard. Or can be anything. Right now, I'm watching Hyouka. I still have ways to go, only on episode 8. But yeah, I like the critical thinking aspect of it and the personalities of the main characters. But especially how the male lead is not sure of his passions but after spending time with Chitanda, he gradually seems to potentially find what he may be passionate about. Which is motivating to me because I struggle myself to know what my specific passions are. So, it inspires me to try to put more effort into putting myself out there and explore different things. Chitanda's work ethic and Satoshi's positivity is inspiring too. But yeah, didn't mean to ramble. Sorry again for the late response. Thank you for your time.

Hello,,I really like how you're so honest in your reviews XD. And your comments are funny and relatable too XD. Like for "Hibi wa Sugiredo Meshi Umashi," I like how you say, "I felt hungry for the first time in years. Not hungry for food. Hungry for warmth. Hungry for company. Hungry for something I couldn’t just order with extra dipping sauce." I like when you describe being hungry in regard to those themes. And make it light-hearted. And it's also relatable. For "Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru," the comparisons T｡T so real. Those are the only two I've read so far but yeah, I like your energy. Have a nice day,, ଳ ଳ
