I've always wanted to check out Slam Dunk as it's interested me with it's unique artstyle and more realistic approach to basketball, just by a glance I can tell I'm pretty much going to love it already, I'll just have to see when I have the time for it, college and stuff and I already have a huge ass backlog I plan to watch.

I'd love to watch the anime if possible, is there any huge difference between the Slam Dunk manga and anime?

Yep, Kuroko no Basket is awesome, always loved it pretty much and my appreciation for it only grows every time I see it again.


Kuroko no Basket is a classic tale of an underdog team rising to the top. The start is slow, but as you meet more rivals the intensity of the game grows even more and the basketball itself becomes crazy. The plot is basic, but the execution is fantastic so I say the plot of Kuroko is more than serviceable. There are a shit ton of quasi-unrealistic moves that break the laws of physics but in some ways could still be possible. It's very hype at times and the animation is extremely slick, Production I.G always has the slickness. The OST is on point as well with many memorable hype songs laced with techno and electric guitar, and the OPs/EDs are top notch as well, I suggest listening to the 3rd OP on Youtube, it'll blow your socks off, it's that good. The characters themselves come into three categories 1. The Teammates aka Seirin 2. The Rivals aka The Generation of Miracles and their teams 3. Douchebags. The first group consists of our two main protagonist, Kuroko who is a shorter player who is good at passing and playing a support role, and Kagami who is just a beastly player all around and the ace of the team. The other members of Seirin are the Captain who's great at shooting and has anger issues, the point guard who is good at analyzing the court and making puns, and a kind hearted giant who plays the center. Them along with some minor characters on the B Team as well as the female coach and her hilarious father make for an awesome team dynamic that you really care for in the end. The Rivals are people who the main character used to be allied with in middle school, and really they make up the meat of the show. Getting to meet each one and learning what makes them tic and what their abilities are is really suspenseful and how they all went their separate ways in the first place. One character became so strong that he started believing that his teammates were worthless. Another one just played basketball because he was good at it and gained no enjoyment of the sport. The character in my profile picture has a superiority complex and a sad backstory which going into would be spoilers. The douchebags are just some minor characters for some minor games, but they are still enjoyable and non intrusive to the story, you gotta start at the bottom you know.


Overall, Kuroko no Basket is a series with a lot of heart and soul that can be a little ridiculous at times, but that's the part of it's charm and message and it shows that thinking you're hot shit gets you nowhere if you can't cooperate with others.

Maybe, but honestly, to me it's just that good and I hope that you enjoy it when you start in the future.

The upcoming Heaven's Feel adaptation at least gives me some hope that I might become one. Have fun with Zeta, I am stuck at the middle myself but I heard great things about the later half.

I try to keep my salt levels balanced haha, enjoy! The first season has my favourite Fate fight scene. I admit I am not a fan of the Fate franchise in general though.

Hello, just noticed you randomly on /r/anime and that I upvoted you quite a bit according to RES. The anime is awesome but has more graphic loli fanservice than the manga which turn many people off. It is otherwise a great adaption and has some amazing action scenes so you would need to decide for yourself.
