Alicization did great job setting up the world, its rules, and conflicts despite a rather shaky second half so it pains me that War of Underworld failed to follow-up on that setup. I went into Alicization skeptical, but enjoying the first half before being let down by the second half, and had hoped that War of the Underworld would at least make use of the setup and redeem the show, but awkward pacing, an identity crisis, and shallow storytelling disappointed me greatly.

I imagine the novels for this series were a lot more in-depth (to the point where I had to read discussion threads to understand read more

This is the break I've been looking for, far from the idealized romance stories that plague the Japanese medium, no, far from storytelling in general, we have the most realistic take on relationships I have ever seen. Nothing over dramatic, nothing over romanticized, based off the relationships I've been in IRL, this is truly the most accurate representation of heterosexual mating practices I have ever seen in media.

The manga accurately portrays how women will always tease men over the most little of things, and will always try to distract men with some leading question then hit them with the real puncher while you're distracted! Quite read more

I feel like I should write a review because I kept hearing that this arc was going to be really good but now I feel like the recommendations were biased from FGO players since I watched this as someone who only enjoyed the Fate Zero adaptation, and the FSN VN and adaptation and never touched FGO.

I guess this is an unpopular opinion but I really liked the cocky Gilgamesh from FZ so I was excited that he got his own anime, but was disappointed that this Gilgamesh is completely different. He still has hints of cockiness but it's definitely dialed back a ton, which I'm read more

KyoAni's anime are constantly met with praise, much to my confusion because I thought all their works were boring, but Violet Evergarden carried a lot of hype with it so I thought I'd give it a test, especially since Netflix's SKIP INTRO button meant I didn't have to put any effort into adding 1.5 mins to skip the drab, generic garbage opening this had.

Getting the positives out of the way first, the art direction is beautiful IMO, and makes for very good WEBMs and screenshots.

Sadly, it seems KyoAni focused only on style, none on substance as Violent Evergarden is as much of a failure of read more

I'll try to make this quick, Darling in the Franxx very noticeably tries to copy themes from Evangelion and Gurren Lagann, but fails to capture the magic of either, although the combat animated fairly nicely.

I'm not quite sure why Ecchi isn't in the genres list. The show has about as much Action as Infinite Stratos, the plotline is garbage, and they focus an insane amount on lewd shots and fanservice. In my perspective, the primary genre of this show IS Ecchi.

Despite doing its best trying to be deep and establish meaningful relations, characters are overdramatic, glossed over, and fall into extremely common, predictable tropes read more

Starts off with some chuuni anime explanation of the lore in the show, and standard high school slice-of-life introductions and tropes. Also, I can't explain it, but it really annoyed me and really convinced me that this was going to be really bad when a character was being crushed to death by a building and the protagonist walked up to them asking if they were alright.

Overall, the show was just boring and too casual compared to Zero or Stay Night. The fight scenes were a lot closer to generic shonen than ones from the previously mentioned shows.

If you're expecting a serious show, just skip this.

Abuse comes in many forms and Baka na Imouto wo Rikou ni Suru no wa Ore no xx dake na Ken ni Tsuite is a work of art that deals with the controversial topic of sibling and disability abuse.

Hana Mitsui is the main protagonist's sexually attractive but mentally disabled younger sister whose voice is out of sync with the rest of her body's development during puberty. Hana's character and interaction with her brother challenges many of society's views of disability and can be interpreted in ways both positive and negative to the portrayal of disabled people.

Many can agree that among the reasons for the (il)legal read more

"The term cuckold refers to the husband of an adulterous wife" - Wikipedia

If Wikipedia is to be believed, then Shigatsu is a story of many cucks. Have you ever watched School Days or White Album 2 and thought, "Man I need more of this?". Well then, Shigatsu is the anime for you. As a child, the main character, whose name I don't remember because he barely speaks compared to the side characters, was a musician whose mom died and cucked his music from him. Without giving a story summary, a bunch of people meet each other and decide to help each other through a coming read more

I was (mildly) hyped for this show.
I kept watching it thinking the next episode was going to be really good, and I almost got it with the last a couple minutes of a certain episode making me really hyped for the next one.
And here we are, all wrapped up, and with my score, you can probably tell what I thought of it.

The story for Charlotte is dreadful, being plagued by inconsistencies, with minimal character development, and most of the development is reverted anyway so who cares at this point. Nothing even happens in term of story progression or character development for the first, I don't read more

Ben-To (Anime) add (All reviews)
I just realized the rating labels on the review panel were different than they were on the actual website because I gave this a 4 on my list and it was bad but giving it a 4 in the review panel rated it as decent. I found the former to be more accurate. Ben-To (no relation to Ben 10) is a show about the average self-insert harem MC who does a fight to the death in grocery stores for lunches on sale.

The characters in the show were the typical TVTropes harem girls, so just google tsundere, shrinking violet, etc. and that should give you a read more
