Oh yes, the story was fantastic and I loved the characters. Thinking about rewatching it with my brother at some point, planning on reading the Manga soon too.

Also sorry for the late response, I only just now found your comment.

To each his own I guess. Excel Saga is legendary.

If you love BoBoBo, then you'll love Excel Saga too. I think they are right on par with each other.

Seeing as how you like Yu Yu Hakusho, Trigun, Bobobo, and Samurai Champloo, I've got a few recommendations for you:

1) Everything relating to Fullmetal Alchemist (I recommend starting out with the 2003 series then moving over to Brotherhood)

2) Rurouni Kenshin (Watch until Episode 62, then read the manga at Volume 18 if you want more story); sub and dub available on Crunchyroll. It's the good dub on the Aniplex/Media Blasters release, not the shitty Sony dub.

3) FLCL and Gurren Lagann

4) Cowboy Bebop OR Hellsing Ultimate (Champloo was made by the same guy who made Bebop)

Also, if you're a fan of Yoshiro Togashi's work, I suggest you watch Hunter x Hunter (2011). It's 148 episodes long, but all the episodes are available to watch for free on Crunchyroll.
