Hello, nice to meet you! ^^

Oh thanks :) and yeah Sca-Ji's amazing he's definitely one of my favoutite writers too. Iam sadly an english only reader so I couldn't read Sakura no Uta, hopefully it will get translated one day. Well Iam sure I'll love it just like SubaHibi xd

Hi there! Nice favourites, your vndb list is also great. Its good to see a fellow sca ji fan <3

Haha, thanks. :)
Also, enjoy Utena. It's quite good. It's much more comedic early on than it is later on, at least from what I remember.

It's worth the read, imo. As for Dies, I read Eustia after SubaHibi, my first visual novel. After that I started to read Island, and around then I had already wanted to read Dies irae in desire of a challenge, and then the translation was announced, so I really wanted to read it. I caved in a began to read it, and handled the prologue well enough. It was daunting at first, and I'm sure I missed the more nuanced stuff along the way, but by the time I got into the meat of the story, I was good, and whatever I may have missed couldn't have been too much, in my opinion. And besides, it's a work worth re-reading, which I will do at some point I'm sure.

Uh, it's going ok. Samurai Champloo was the first anime I've completed in a loooong time, and that's because I'm on winter break from college. I've been steadily watching LotGH for a while, and I'm thinking I should finish it this break, too. As for seasonals, I picked up Kekkai S2, which I ended up dropping later because I don't really care for it anymore, and I picked up the new Kino anime, which I watch if I want something a bit more relaxing. Visual novels, books, and movies seem to be my thing for the most part, and the combination of college and a girlfriend take up more time than I'd like, but hopefully I can get into the swing of it all this next semester if I manage my time more efficiently.

I don't want to watch many seasonals anymore because, having stopped watching anime for a while, I've come to regret not getting to the older finished shows I wish I had, while instead I watched too many lackluster or just decent seasonal shows. I'd rather just go back and watch the shows already finished, provided they seem to be worth watching by the time I've watched everything else that I want to.

Thanks. :)

How're you liking Aiyoku no Eustia? Where are you at in it?

Also, if you're up for a challenge, you should try to read Dies irae as soon as you can. It may not seem like it, but it has some pretty amazing themes and is a very interesting work in hindsight. The prose does take some getting used to, but it's not as hard as it is rumored to be, I think. In fact, it'll expose you to more difficult sentences, making most other VNs not as challenging.

Just passing by, and I dig the SCA-Ji love! I just the particular scene of which your Ai screenshot is from, and wow can the dude write. Simply incredible stuff. Your MAL faves are great, too. :]

I'm not far enough to say anything about it. All I have is that "people said it's good" so I should probably be reading it. The description of a school romance superficially sounds less interesting than some of the other kamige.
toasterstrudel Aug 12, 2017 1:04 AM
There are so many meme kamigems left to experience! I have no idea how some people find the time to watch an enormous amount of anime and read a good portion of the canon of such extraordinarily long tomes. Gonna be super busy again this semester. Maybe I'm just not that into JP media.
toasterstrudel Aug 11, 2017 3:35 PM
:O glad to here that! Yet another data point in its favor

I plan to when I can make the time for it, still plan on finishing Himawari, which I read bits and pieces of on and off the past semester. Now, I know jack shit about VNs, but it appears to not meet the hype level and is some notches below the nebulous meme term of kamige. There are a great quantity of lolis being lolis and the male MC is himself a moeblob. The adult male characters are great, and I think VNs in general would be better focused on them, not shitty heroines.

You come across any incredible moments in Sakuuta approaching the level of Suba's cycles of epic hugs accompanied by Chiisana Senritsu yet?
toasterstrudel Jun 7, 2017 12:40 PM
Hey how is it going!

With a busy semester and not really anything that look good to watch, I haven't been on here.

Do you think the H-scenes in Cross†Channel have value? As a rule, I skip H-scenes because they are boring wastes of time, but in Cross†Channel they might be an exception and contributing to the story?
toasterstrudel Dec 22, 2016 10:04 PM
I meant the westerners who read JP. Of course, it's good to keep an open mind and not put too much stock in what people say.

Compare LoGH to VNs and you can see how short it is. Length is no excuse.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
