A cute, flirty alien girl with a tail meets the male protagonist, with a tendency to whip out random alien gadgets. The main protagonist has a harem. If you like one, you'll like the other. Ecchi-comedy.

If you liked Shikabane Hime: Aka add

...then you might like Highschool of the Dead add

Both Shikabane Hime and HotD revolve around one main theme - killing undead zombies. Action-oriented.

If you liked School Days add

...then you might like KimiKiss Pure Rouge add

Kimikiss has some semblance of what School Days might have turned out to be, if the characters in School Days hadn't snapped and lost their minds. Both Kimikiss and School Days (except for the last few episodes) share much in common - the teen angst, the drama, the love triangle. Perhaps Kimikiss has more of a larger cast and a bit of a wider variety of characters though.

A young man (Kira Yamato / Saotome Alto) finds himself forced to pilot a mecha to defend himself and another, he later ends up joining the army. A well known pop star singer & promoter of peace (Sheryl / Lacus Clyne) makes appearances. Both anime are set in space, full of mecha space battles & drama. Both are backed by a massive franchise - Gundam & Macross. Chances are, if you like one, you'll like the other.

...then you might like Toradora! add

Louise = Taiga (chibi tsundere dominating occasionally violent female, similar clothes, same voice actor, calls male lead 'dog', etc.) Oh, and Saito = Ryuuji of course.

If you liked Shakugan no Shana add

...then you might like Kaze no Stigma add

Strong, female leads, tsundere, flame-tempered, fight with fire wielding a flaming sword with red hair, crush on the main male lead. Shana = Ayano. The similarities are pretty obvious.

Two best friends - one a tactical genius with a tragic past, ripped apart by a war they're both swept up in. Characters have a supernatural ability. The art style and uniforms are extremely similar.

If you liked Death Note add

...then you might like Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch R2 add

Both anime shows are about a young teenage genius with a mysterious power given to them by a supernatural being, which they both aim to change the world with. In both cases, the protagonists lose their memories at one point, have a beloved sister who gets in danger, goes up against their father. A notable difference is that Code Geass has giant fighting robots and machines, with strategy through battles and war, while Death Note has detectives and agents, with strategy through deception and guesswork. I'd recommend both though.
