Steins;Gate is an excellent time travel anime! The anime's theme is very captivating. Although the pace of the story may seem slow in the first few episodes, you have to follow the plot and multiple twists to follow this complex anime. I admit that I have trouble getting through the episodes. As a result, I sometimes take breaks mid-episode. However, three years later, I've done extensive research on the anime. I've looked up and sometimes rewatched certain scenes, and I understand it much better.

The characters are very charismatic and endearing, especially Rintarō and Kurisu Makise. Moreover, although they are outstanding scientists, the two characters have ... a rather strange relationship. They often bicker, and Rintarō calls her a tsundere. The other characters are pretty stereotypical like Itaru Hashida (the “Super Hacka” who is a fan of Waifu), Kiryū Moeka (the mysterious girl who texts the person concerned) and Fan Nyannyan (the rich Loli Maid who ends her sentences with “-Nya”), although I don’t find them that disturbing in my opinion.

Keijo!!!!!!!!, an anime that reinvents sports with originality! Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised, not because there's fan service, which is certainly omnipresent (sexy girls, big boobs, sexy bodysuits, and the sport itself), but rather the sporting aspect and the stakes of the competition that are important in the anime.

The characters are endearing, all united by the desire to win the tournament, hence a small element of sporty Nekketsu that we can particularly see. The animation is very beautiful, very fluid, and very dynamic, even with the CGI, which we want to see in episode 8 with the yellow bars. Moreover, the character design accentuates the competitive ... aspect with bold lines around the players in action. The colors are also bright, which makes it pleasant to watch (without any ulterior motive).

Days is an excellent soccer anime despite two main flaws. Namely, the main character, Tsukushi, is a "shithole" who "spends his time whining," which is the heart of the anime and his soccer development. Despite this, it didn't stop me from enjoying Days, in the sense that these details don't bother me and that other qualities compensate for these flaws. Starting with the main character, Tsukushi:

He is unfortunately the most criticized and least appreciated character in the anime. As I said, he is criticized for being a "shithole" and "spends his time whining." It's precisely these soccer qualities and his personality that are endearing. Despite ... the fact that he is extremely bad at soccer, Tsukushi clings determinedly to his dreams and fights with all his might to prove himself to the other players, and especially to himself. Ultimately, he's like any other beginner player, regardless of age, who wants to become the best they can be. I think it's wonderful to see!

Although there's no background for the other characters, I don't find it that disturbing. They're all endearing, as they all do their best to help Tsukushi during his time.

Free! Eternal Summer, a sequel that's still as exciting! Overall, I find that this second season remains on the same basis as the first season. It's always a pleasure to follow the young swimmers! The story is more interesting since the relationships between the characters continue to develop in a touching and authentic way. In addition, the introduction of new characters brings a refreshing dynamic to the plot. The animation and character design remain the same, especially the swimming scenes which are still as impressive. In terms of the soundtrack, I really like the opening which still matches the atmosphere of the anime. The ending ... is offbeat and the OST is good. In short, this season is always a pleasure to follow!

Free!, an anime that swims against the grain of sports clichés. The fan service is COMPLETELY justified because it makes sense to see men shirtless, and they're not going to swim in tuxedos or wetsuits, at least not polyurethane ones. However, I'm not used to seeing fan service from men since I don't look at beautiful muscles and I couldn't care less. Only the athletic aspect matters, although I wasn't blown away by it. This is the only flaw I can give because, unlike Kuroko no Basket, I didn't feel any palpable tension between each entry into the Olympic-sized pool. For a sports anime, it's ... unfortunately a bit of a shambles. On the other hand, the School Life aspect is successful, with endearing characters, especially the relationship between Haruka and Rin, which is interesting, even though Haruka undresses as soon as he sees water.

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, an anime that's impressive but lacks depth. I'm disappointed with this anime. However, before discussing its flaws, there are a few strong points I noticed. I really appreciated the "old-school" design and also the originality of the trains, which aren't fully exploited in other anime. Finally, the battles are quite intense, even if the characters' actions are sometimes sluggish.

As with the anime Seraph of the End, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress isn't a rip-off of the very popular anime Attack on Titan. It's also worth noting that these three animes were produced by the same studio, Wit Studio. Once again, ... this anime is completely different. Starting with the originality of the trains, which aren't fully exploited. Although it's true that these three animes have several things in common: the loss of a beloved character, the monstrous creatures that invade humanity, and revenge against these monsters.

Next, I'll move on to the anime's biggest flaws. Despite the fact that the train has a touch of originality, it doesn't add much impact to the story. This is also something I easily forget, and it's a real shame.

Concerning the existence of the Kabane, we don't get any clues. All we know is that they want to eat humans. It's not like in Attack on Titan, where we discover the truth at the same time as the characters.

There's also a small negative point: I didn't connect with the opening and ending, which are generally gloomy.

Regarding the characters, there's one character that really stands out to me. It's Mumei:

At the beginning of the anime, she's one of my favorite characters. However, towards the end, when her older brother was still around, that's when I started to lose interest. She becomes a character you find in most anime, that is, a naive and stupid young girl. It's a real shame. The other characters are quite stereotypical, like Biba Amatori (the charming and vengeful handsome guy) and Uryū (Biba Amatori's lapdog).

All these flaws could have stood out from the other two animes. But ultimately, that wasn't the case.

It's disappointing, and I would have liked it to stand out from Attack on Titan, which, despite everything, suffers greatly from this comparison.

Re:Zero is an excellent Isekai and one of my favorites of 2016! The story is very original! Although the plot is redundant at the beginning with its reboots, the plot develops over the episodes in a fairytale and fantasy universe. I love the inclusion of several mythologies in a single anime (a Half-Elves, a Spirit, an Earth Dragon, and Witches), which makes the story sometimes funny, coherent, and, above all, interesting.

Concerning the characters, there are two that really stand out to me: Subaru and Emilia. For Subaru:

He is also the most endearing and interesting character in the anime. Although at the beginning of the ... anime, Subaru leads a completely ordinary high school life until the day he finds himself teleported to another world, similar to a medieval fantasy world. He possesses all the characteristics of a normal character, including a simple, geeky, and antisocial young adult. He has the power to go back in time upon dying to change future events. He then imagines he has been summoned by a beautiful young girl and believes he has superpowers. However, he quickly realizes that he has nothing in particular, except for his tracksuit and his shopping bag with instant noodles and chips. He then wanders around the city and finds himself stranded by three bands of bandits. On the verge of death, he is saved by a Half-Elf named "Satella," accompanied by a spirit, Pack. To restore his Likewise, he decides to find the badge stolen from him by Felt, a young girl who makes a living from petty theft. Over the course of the episodes, Subaru forms strong bonds of friendship with the other characters he meets.

And Emilia:

She is the most charismatic and endearing character in the anime. Aside from the fact that Emilia has extremely rare white hair and purple eyes, she is unfairly discriminated against. She seems quite shy but is very kind; however, her kindness often makes her the "loser." She helps anyone with a problem. This is also why she saves Subaru. She is accompanied by a Spirit named Pack, who looks like a cat wearing a purple bag. A candidate to become the 42nd King of Lugnica, her determination to become sovereign makes Emilia very adorable!

The Future Diary, when the cell phone becomes a weapon. Overall, this is the summary that I like about this anime. It's a good idea to include the Survival Game, which you don't really find in anime. It's really original. The characters are quite endearing, and the most well-known character is Yuno, who is a Yandere. But the biggest flaw of the anime, in my opinion, is Yukiteru:

He is the most criticized and least appreciated character in the anime. He is criticized for "crying a lot for nothing and evolving too late." On the other hand, I think this gives a realistic feel to the ... story. He's just a young boy who suddenly participates in a Survival Game he didn't ask for. That's why he's scared.

The other characters are quite stereotypical, like Reisuke Hōjō (the orphan girl who seeks revenge) and Kurō Amano.

This lesson in courage and friendship evokes both nostalgia and hope, reassuring us that no matter ... where life takes them, those connections will never truly fade.

The integration of real-world tech-inspired mechanics and a sprawling tournament concept bridges nostalgia with innovation, cementing this chapter as a transitional yet ambitious entry in the saga.
