Ecchi doesn't sell because the shows are made on shoe string budget with little effort put into them. You got no evidence to support that ecchi claim.

I do believe less fanservice means more watchers. I got a loinshare of anime and their figures to back this up. When was the last time you seen a Queens Blades movie get into theaters and sell gangbusters.

Also anime gets popular every year? Where is your evidence for that? I seen the opposite. If anything anime is very top heavy. Hell I can show you the blu-rays and declining manga selsl across the board. If more popular means series getting thrown into the dumpster faster than Johnny Manziel's pro football career then where is this popularity coming from? If anything a lot people in the business are just chasing trends. Sicne Yuri on Ice got popular, we're gonna get fujoshi bait all over the place. A couple of years ago it was K-ON and everyone tried to rip that off. Recently, it's Love Live. Yeah we'll get stuff like Kill la kill, Panty and Stocking, Re:Zero, and One Punch Man. Yeah we'll get shows that get popular for that year and then trail off. I mean these days people aren't just long time fans of anything everyone just wants to the hot show everyone is talking and bam there is your fandom and hatedom at the same time.

It has nothing to do with how the anime is being made? Boku No Hero Academia Season 2 production schedule says hello. Heck the main dude behind was getting tired of low budget shouen made on the cheap with no effort behind. It has everything to do with how anime is being made. Hell there was an article form Wit Studio why AOT S2 was only 12 episodes. The demand has increase and the suits just want to flow the market with show after show. It is really oversaturated itself.

Also on anime cons that is usually moreso a credit to the con and the are they are in. Not every con has the benefit of being in major cities like FL, Chicago, LA, and NY. Also any numbers an anime con can pull gets trump by what comic cons or any pop culture American con can do. So yes anime cons are growing but that is moreso a credit to the people running the cons than anime itself. Heck they don't even have to chase trends.

Also Your someone who finally watched it. I can see why it did well and the praise it got. But that came from someone who has been working hard making original not having to pander to get paid. We need more Your Names(well not its genre) but more original shows that are leading the way. Stuff like Yuri on Ice is a start.

I don't have one, but I might just make one

Well fanservice is kind of one of the main reasons the industry has been on a downward spiral with shows mad e on shoestring budgets and just pander to people hoping that will be enough to break even with blu-rays. There are reasons why Boku no Hero Academia is doing so well. There is a reason Your Name killed it at the Box Office. Hate it or love it people want substance to what they are watching. Look at how Anime got big in the West to now. It wasn't bouncing girls in tight costumes but shows with actual characters. And when we got those fanservice heavy shows....well most of them tank but a show like Tenchi Muyo prove to be more than just fanservice.
