Thank you! I'm extremely happy to see someone else with Rose of Versailles and Conan on their favorites! Plus, even though I don't have it in my Top 10, I really love Only Yesterday too.

Thanks for giving me permission. The focus will be to review classic anime from the 70s,80s and 90s, and some of the reviews will be Dezaki themed. I'm doing the show because theres too many shows on YT focused on modern stuff, which is cool and all, but I'd like to look at and review different shows that I think people would find interesting.

Hi there, just out of curiosity, since i know you have a blog called Postcard Memories, I've wanted to start up a anime review show called postcard memories and created a blog around called Postcard Memories, but I was just worried if I was ripping you of by having a similar name, so what do you think I should name the blog? I've considered calling it Postcard Memories.com - Anime Reviews.

Thank you, you have excellent taste as well.

I see you watched GITS, which is an absolute classic, and better than shitty knock of Matrix. Oshii is in a league of his own, I consider him the Andrei Tarkovsky of anime, in terms of his directing style.

So you got to the Affair of the necklace scandal arc in ROV? I love that show, easily one of my favourites, and when Dezaki takes over from ep 19 onwards, it gets even better, the first 18 episodes are very good, but its the Dezaki portion that really is the best portion. Jeanne is such a well done side character, I felt sympathy and guilt for her, especcally when you take into consdieration how nasty to live those days were.

Sorry for not replying till now, just been mega busy.

You argue of course he shouldn't go to jail, but that isn't how German lawmakers feel. It is also why every German book and film made after WW2 has focused on the whole story. Why? because very unlike the Japanese, the Germans do NOT want to brainwash their children into believing they were totally right in WW2 and were only victims. The Japanese PM denies all Japanese war crimes in China happened and Japanese go wild with applause! If Merkel of Germany denied Nazi atrocities, she would be impeached the next day! The film never explicitly says that ONLY Japan suffered in the war, but it all we are shown. Just as Come and See didn't say that ONLY Belarus suffered, but most in America labeled it as vile propaganda. What makes GOTF worse is that it is aimed at children with little to no knowledge of the war, besides what often highly revisionist textbooks tell them. They will see this movie and feel that Japan was the victim and not the aggressor, which is precisely why this movie was made!

It is not propaganda to show your own side commit atrocities along with the suffering of your own innocents. It simply gives a fair and balanced view of the war. Have you ever read The Tin Drum? Seen Das Boot? Ever seen the German film Stalingrad from the early 90s? All of those showed the suffering of innocent Germans who didn't deserve any of it, without portraying Germany as entirely a victim of foreign agression in WW2.

I do separate the crimes of government and civilians, but to show a completely 1 sided story in a country with a massive history of denial is kind of problematic. Did you not read my Dresden example? Explain to me why that film maker deserves to go to jail and this one deserves praise.
