I liked the show alot, great fun and adventure. It reminded me alot of Future Boy Conan but with a more dark edge to it. I wrote some thoughts on the show just after watching it in the forum so I'll share that to you as that was my hot of the press reaction to the show though it was swayed somewhat by what others were debating about, specifically characters

So yeah I liked the show and thanks for pushing me towards it. I've been struggling to get into any Anime these last two months as things have been busy but I committed myself to the show and ran through it in two viewing sessions. I already have another show in mind to watch next so hopefully I've got back into the groove when it comes to watching Anime now.

I ended up starting again with Now and Then last night after a false start and watched the first 7 episodes in a row. Absolutely love the show with some fab characters and a very interesting story. I was getting some legitimate rage at some of the characters at times for their actions. I'm totally invested in the series and I'm excited to see where it goes.

This show got me thinking about how interesting Anime was in this period, some really experimental shows with some really interesting deep stories and unique style were being made around the mid 90s to the early 00s. Much more than now or at least nowadays alot of shows feel quite samey even when they aren't. The style of modern shows basically goes across 90% of what is being made. It maybe rose tinted glasses but it seems to me it wasn't always like that or at least not in this particular period.

Anyway I'm loving NTHT and will definitely finish it later tonight

Sorry for the late response! I'll make sure to reach out to them for a dub! :)

OMG, I love it so much! It's easily becoming one of my favorite BL anime series. My coworker and I love talking about this series. :) You should definitely give it a watch!

Awesome, I'm about halfway through the series at the moment. It has some major feels across the series like that moment. I really like it alot and will be returning to it pretty soon.

JoJo is very over the top and indeed very camp haha. Have fun with it as it's truly great stuff :D

Hey Dylan! :)

Oh boy Space Brothers is absolutely amazing! Everything I hoped it be, I'm totally hooked on it right now. It has a really good story and it takes itself seriously for it's subject but also handles comedy really well within it to. The characters are all so likable and lovable. So yeah It's really good and something I hope you like also when you get to it.

I saw that you stopped watching Scrapped Princess at episode 19? Did Eps 18 and 19 hit you pretty hard or are you just not liking the show?

You have put that weird Captain Tylor series coming next season on plan to watch, I'm going to most likely do the same. I don't always handle watching Anime as it airs very well as I tend to slow down on my other Anime watching as a result. But I'm going to try to watch 2-3 Anime a Season with one of those most likely being a short thing each season which the Captain Tylor show will fill that role. I'm also going to try watching Dive! Since I liked Free! so much and I like watching Diving on the TV. The last thing I'm going to watch is this series about the Vatican and these "miracle examiners" which from the PV looks super interesting.

(Sorry for the late reply!)

Those are all ones I've been meaning to watch :D
I actually haven't seen too many Yaoi (I will be fixing this soon!) but the ones I recall really enjoying were Doukyuusei and Hybrid Child. Both were really sweet :)
After checking the site, it's surprising how little shounen ai/yaoi shows there actually are. I hope they start making more in the future!

Ooh! Those are all great! And yaoi is amazing xD
What are your favorite yaoi shows?
heikosen May 31, 7:38 PM
Wow, both of those sound cool! I've never heard of Shura no Toki Age of Chaos before and I've only heard the name Gungrave. Now you've piqued my interest :D
It's always exciting when you stumble upon an amazing show!
Right now I'm watching a lot of shows from this current season while catching up on some older ones I've been meaning to watch for a long time. I just finished up Amanchu! It's really calm and relaxing which was the perfect escape from a stressful week. Slice of life is my favorite genre :)
What's your favorite genre?

That's great to hear! Watching anime is the best way to kick off the weekend xD
Are you watching any particular series right now that you're really enjoying?
BlaizeV May 22, 2:43 PM
I'm so happy you liked it so much, it really is a fantastic series. The ending is magnificent but yeah the first episode is one of those weird ones where it's set towards the end and the rest of the show leads up to it. Can always be confusing on a first watch for sure and given how the character drama is the main draw for this series it was a weird choice to order it that way but I guess it softens the blow of the weird in context direction the story goes to eventually.

In the video game Gungrave Overdose (yeah this Anime is actually based on a game, so a good video game adaptation is possible haha) Bunji is resurrected 'beyond the grave' style, so yeah he does die in the show. So I would guess the cat saw a ghost/spirit or something or maybe just a presence, I don't really remember the scene as it's been awhile.

Gungrave just has a great story made all the better by the immensely good ending, one of my favourites in Anime.

Hi! Thank you for accepting :D
I'm good, thank you! I'm enjoying the beginning of the weekend :)
How are you?
BlaizeV May 12, 2:20 AM
Thats great that you loved Ghost Hunt, definitely an underappreciated show, I really liked it also.

I'd seen Season 2 before back when it aired, it was the first Anime I ever watched weekly back in 2010. I decided to upgrade the first series to a 10 recently as I'm planning to rescore a few things. Big Windup means alot to me as a series and having seen the original series 3 times I just had to rewatch season 2 as soon as I got the set. I wasn't sure if I was going to also upgrade it to a 10 from the 8 I had given it previously but having rewatched it it's still the same show with the same high standard that the first series has. I still loved all of it, so other than there being less of it and this being sadly an unfinished Anime in comparison to the much longer run manga, I saw no reason to not also give season 2 a 10 :D

Now I need to decide whether or not to read the manga. It finished last year so it's possible the Anime may return but it's also possible given the last season was 7 years ago now that it probably won't.

EDIT: Turns out the Manga was only on Hiatus until July this year. So I guess another Anime entry remains unlikely still

$30 is a little steep. I mean I really loved it but mileage can definitely vary on that. I know your pretty against it but in times like this when something is OOP and expensive I would seriously suggest watching it online to make sure it's something you would be interested in. The OVA is on YouTube (search bio hunter) both subbed and dubbed (though the dubbed version seems to be stretched to widescreen annoyingly). My honest recommendation would be to watch it on there and see if you like it, because if you don't then you've saved yourself a not insignificant amount of money. The price is perhaps abit too much for a blind purchase for an OVA that doesn't last more than an hour, especially since you've only just started to dip your toe into OVAs.

Here is the trailer for Bio Hunter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-mBwDWxs2M

I guess thats the other avenue you could take is just watching the trailers and seeing if it appeals to you, obviously some trailers are alot better than others but most of these OVA releases from back in the day got them. Trailers have been my main avenue for deciding whether to watch/purchase something for along time. Well for older stuff anyway, trailers these days barely exist outside of Funimation.

Thats great you are going to watch 3x3 Eyes, where did you find a legal stream for that?
