Both feature self centered and warped magical girls, with plenty of violence and a dash of fanservice to keep your blood pumping!
Both are light hearted sci-fi action shows that have a similar feel with an adorable overpowered protagonist beating up aliens or robots or aliens in robots.
Both are nice violent Girls with Guns manga with somewhat thin plots but great action with some differences; Triage X features characters blowing people's heads off for justice, Trash features characters blowing people's heads off for often no reason at all. There is lots of nudity and blood in both of these, but Trash has more gore in it.
Boisterous 1980's anime punks kicking the ass of aliens and other pests while laughing and joking around. Dirty Pair fans who understand the superiority of 80's waifus will feel right at home with Apple.
Both are relatively violent magical girl shows that have some pretty brutal content mixed in with cuteness. Rem, ever the hipster, was the bloody magical girl before it was cool.
Both are cyberpunk shows with memorable characters and drama/plot mixed with plenty of fun in between. Plenty of cute cyborg, criminal and cop girls kicking ass too. Also, the great Kenichi Sonoda worked on both of these titles for extra cool points.
Both series concentrate on gun action and are relatively realistic without any magic nonsense. Both series' art style put a lot of emphasis and detail into weapons, cars and women, so if you are a fan on those things then give it a read.
Both of these series integrate fantasy/magic well with modern military equipment/structure. Highly recommend if you like to see the military actually be useful in a fantasy setting. Also, piles of cute girls!
