Definitely credit to the mangaka, plus I think the soundtrack really helps Chihayafuru (that main theme got me hyped every time!).

I haven't seen Rakugo but all I've heard are good things! I might wait until the second season is done and I'll smash it all out haha.

Yeah I found that it took a few episodes to set up the main three characters (and introduce the concept of karuta), but once they get into it the pace picks up. I think it gets better as it goes (I liked season 2 better as well) and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed a show about people slapping cards hahaha. Sadly there's no season 3, so I've been thinking about picking up the manga to see how the story continues.

Same here; I used to marathon stuff, but now I've ended up juggling multiple shows at once and mostly watching one or two episodes of each a day, if at all. It's great when a show does just make you want to watch more though!
