You might want to get better at english before writing reviews.

It's really hard to take those seriously when they're written THAT badly. Sometimes it's extremely hard to get what you want to say since the grammar is all over the place and you're using words in a context that might make sense in your native language, but they really don't in English.

Also when you're giving certain shows a bad score you're really not telling the readers why. You're just saying "it sucked", so it comes across as if you didn't actually want to write a review but simply bash that particular anime.

Then again I'm probably expecting too much from someone your age.

Upon reading your "Empire of Corpses" review.
Please don't make any more reviews.

Again expecting too much out of Jojo. You're throwing around this " real CHARACTER" mantra like it honestly means something when every character in Jojo is presented more like caricatures. Jojo isn't out to be "well written" or to have "good characterization" , Jojo is out to be bat shit crazy manly man nonsense. I think you either accept that or don't dig for things that wasn't there. You can say you don't like Jojo but you can't say it's "bad" since what it was aiming to do is what it precisely did. That's like saying you're disappointed that the sugar you ate wasn't sour, it's a superfluous complaint that has no business being attached to the subject at hand.

Well I can understand not liking slower paced shows, it certainly isn't for everyone. I think I can appreciate it because that's precisely what Shinkai is going for. If you look at all of his shows he places heavy emphasis on time and the flow of time as it correlates to the people in the story. It can show how "time flies" in a budding romance like Kotonoha no Niwa or how time slowly decays a relationship like 5cm. Every one of his shows take the same concept and places it under a new lens. Even in his most obvious examples like Voices of a Distant Star where the love interest were literally separated by time and space itself. I think the key to appreciating Shinkai works is to understand what his intended goal is. His works are all like visuals collages for the same kind of theme. Whether you find one less engaging or not all depends on your mindset.

Ushio is semi episodic but that isn't the only problem. Believe it or not the issue is that it's meandering too much while rushing content. I know that it may not seem like it but just take a moment to think about it. They would foreshadow something in the beginning of a episode just to reveal it by the end and resolve the conflict. What the show is suffering from is aimlessness with too many detours not necessarily slow pacing.

Jojo is more about the over the top spectacle than anything else. If you're not amused by the GAR mixed with flamboyancy then you wouldn't get much from it. It's a self-aware romanticizing of GAR and manly man nonsense.

I don't blame you, he's a pioneer in the industry so maybe there is something to it.

I only liked Wolf Children and found the other two to be decent, but yes for movie standards they're fine. I like a few of Shinkai's works but I haven't watched them all. I think he's one of the better movie creators as he incorporates time better than most, it's a common theme in all of his works, showing how time can change things (especially relationships). I can't say I find his works boring like you do, it's more subdued and grounded to reality so yea if that kind of thing is boring to you then I can understand. Kotonoha no Niwa better than 5cm? yea we're definitely not on the same page there. 5cm was poignant and realistic in the way it depicted a dwindling long distance love. It wasn't trying to be bold but rather just deliver a scenario many can understand. It's a very human centric movie in that regard.

Those are the only 2 movies of his I haven't watched myself so we're both at a lost there.

You're ahead of me then, I've only seen 3 of his works so far. I need to catch up.

Hosoda is highly overrated, all of his works are only good if you won't think about it. Wolf Children is his best work. If you're looking for pure entertainment value then you won't be let down though.

I haven't watched Angel's Egg but someone told me it's symbolism just for the sake of having symbolism. I don't think you should overthink it. I use to be a christian so when I get to it I'll let you know.

Yoshiura literally carries all of Rikka on his back, without him that studio won't be anything, he's to Rikka what Miyazaki was to Ghibli. I think the only director that's worth following is Yuasa but I feel like that isn't worth stating since he's already respected and known.

I haven't watched them all yet but I do plan to. Paranoia Agent is a weird trip and the title is very appropriate. I think you'll get a kick out of it.

Nihon Animator Mihonichi have alot of interesting premises and concepts but then there are a few that sucks. it would be nice to see a few get the tv anime treatment similar to the way Death Parade got it's chance. I can't remember what each ep is specifically about so I can't be of any help, sorry :/

your friends need to watch better anime then lol Satoshi Kon is well known in the anime community. I think you would like him if you like a nice mindfuck.
ZephSilver Jun 29, 2015 8:34 AM
Satoshi Kon is among anime's greats and I say go for it. I haven't watched Paprika myself but Perfect Blue is one of my all time fav movies and one of the only 11 titles I've given a 9/10. It's a unique mindfuck that also offers social commentary.

I said homophobe as in afraid of homosexuals in an unwarranted or extreme way. "people might think im gay" that's a very homophobic thing to say. Idk I won't watch the show but I wouldn't go that far in a personal depiction. I don't want to watch it, simple as that.
ZephSilver Jun 27, 2015 5:44 PM
are you a homophobe or something? lol I'm straight but even I find this reply to be offensive.. And I have a shiton of shows in backlog that I can watch, so I don't plan on watching that at all.
ZephSilver Jun 22, 2015 8:12 AM
yeeeeeeaaa no
ZephSilver Jun 21, 2015 10:49 AM
looks like fujoshi bait and with that said I won't ever watch it.
ZephSilver Jun 21, 2015 10:23 AM
I don't think I'll watch that many shows this summer, maybe 6 at most.

I've never even heard of Junjou before, what's it about?

what show looks gay?
