Whats so incredible about this show is that its a harem, and we as the audience know that, but it still drags you in. Usually we will see "oh, harem? Seen it once, seen it all."
HOWEVER, the greatest distinction in this harem is one absolutely critical piece that I realized all other harems lacked: the male protagonist is a dynamic character! The MC is NOT a clueless fool, who is generally reserved, finds himself in perverse situations, and will out of no where yell out this monologue to sound "cool." No no, Uesugi Fuutaro has substance to him. His character, history, and personality play almost

The beginning premise is reminiscent of other romance anime, but what makes this stand out is the unique story-- or twist rather. The main characters are well fleshed out, and the problems they come across in their journey are unique, as far as popular romance anime is concerned. I was very intrigued, agitated, and frustrated at Yashioka's best friend as her role was different to what I've previously seen.
Overall, I enjoyed this show. The art is simply beautiful, and every time Yashioka appeared as the main subject matter onscreen I kept thinking "wow, she is beautiful." I also enjoyed the small artistic changes they made ... Aug 12, 2018

The premise isn't bad, the visuals are not bad, but the execution and story are what really killed this work.
Its somewhat of an isekai, ok whatever, but the isekai world is terrible. We're given an initial game world that is suppose to connect the characters, but I find that so hard to believe when theres no immersion factor in that game, its essentially a toddlers Runescape. Then theres some "plot-twists" that are suppose to build the story up, but the reason behind them is so flimsy. I finished up to episode 4 thinking it would get better, then I read the caption synopsis for episode 5 ... Aug 12, 2018

**Possible spoilers, but nothing passed episodes 1 of respective anime**
The best way to review this, for me, is to compare this to Kimi Ni Todoke (From Me to You) as both these works have great parallels: antisocial, no friends, reserved main girl Princely, everyone-loves-him, popular main guy Character development stemming from the romance of these two where Sukitte Ii Na Yo shines in comparing these two is that it is far more realistic and relatable than From Me to You. Mei (Sukitte) is antisocial by choice and her actions and feelings are far more in line with how anyone would react given her situation. Additionally, her relationship with Yamato ... Aug 12, 2018

Theres a lot of anime tropes that are recycled here, but different enough that its enjoyable. The story has just a tiny few tweaks I'd make to make this really stand out. Its a shame it won't get a 3rd season, the arc that suceeds where this left off seemed like where this show was going to be really good.
worth the watch, so much so that I wish the manga was up to date with the light novels so I could read it. Side note: the manga art is garbage compared to the anime. The MC is pretty similar to other MC's, but he isn't as ... Jul 3, 2018
This movie is well worth the watch.
Spoiler free: Go in without the expectation that this will get an acadamy award and knock out "Kimi No Na Wa" and you will enjoy the movie for what it is. 10/10 would recommend to watch. Animation: Theres some mix of traditional hand-drawn animation and CG, and after watching Gigguk's video on the matter I went in with a more critical eye. At first I was taken aback but I then started to appreciate how the two art styles mixed. Shaft did a well job in this respect-- some of the scenes are what you would expect from a ... |
