Hi there I'm so sorry for falling off the grid and I'm terribly late to this message but happy new year and thank you very much for the birthday wish!!

I've actually been hyper focused on binging Monster (have u seen that one? If you haven't you must :0 I know you're a fan of darker material) but when I do read, it's nozoki ana! Or the manga of NHK. I run into the same issues with seasonal anime :/ classics just seem more comprehensive when modern anime always seems to be comedy or romance? It's just preference tho and if some people find the newer anime to be great then that's awesome. It's so hard to find a short manga like that!!! Hard to develop a story in such a short amount of chapters. What have you been reading? Does your cat have long hair?? My sister has been staying with me and brought her kitten down so that's v nice :-) I do actually! I love music and working at my library and hiking when I can, how about you?

Thanks for the tip! I actually heard of it, would check it out once I get enough money again. I've been browsing a bit on r/MangaCollectors and it still amazes me how beautiful everyone's collections are. Same with yours, that's quite the inventory. Do you usually buy things that you haven't read yet? Are they mostly for collection or do you flip them from time to time? I've actually been planning on buying shit once this pandemic ends but I'm always pinching pennies on what to buy so I end up not buying much at all lol.

do you know if i am a hero is purely a zombie apocalypse manga or does it have other themes?? length definitely prevents me from watching/reading things, although it looks like you've completed some pretty long things! yotsuba was cute, but i read it so long ago, and only the first volume XD. OMG, if Shaft did it, you bet it would have amazing opening and ending songs. and the ambiguity of her death gets me really badly as well :/ so many things just left open for interpretation, and not having a straight answer always hurts the most with anything. oh god no, i am wayyyy too protective of my cats to let them outside. i get they're animals, i get the naturally come from the wild, but i would be so shattered if something happened to one of them. how about you and Lillie? also, i hope you've been okay :) really sorry for this late reply but i have not forgotten!

Yup! Every one of his works just resonates with me personally despite no necessarily experiencing the same hardships. Most of the dialogues and relations between his characters just feel real and honest that I can't help but fall in love with them. Oh damn, I thought it was. I'm actually surprised it hasn't been licensed yet considering Reiraku has. Yeah, I never really intended on starting a collection but I didn't know collecting things you love would prove to be pretty fun.

It's pretty atmospheric, same with most of Jiro Taniguchi's (RIP) works. Opus is definitely worth checking out, especially if you're a fan of his films since it felt like a prototype to his style/editing in his movies. Not to mention a very meta ending.

Wow, that's pretty nice, I envy you :(. Do you usually buy online? I usually just settle buying on physical stores since I haven't tried buying online yet. Yeah, I've seen the price online, wouldn't really say it's worth that much for that short of a chapter but from what I recall, that book also contained Himawari and another one shot, not too sure though. The CTRL artbooks are so fucking beautiful, I can never get tired of his art. That's pretty cool, sure why not, I personally haven't seen a physical copy of it yet, how big is your collection?

I haven't filled out my favorites section because I'm saving it for what I truly find that I like. I haven't watched something that I felt I could put there. And I'd have to rewatch it to make sure it wasn't a fluke. But I have a list on my profile written in a spoiler of my favorite animes. I haven't rewatched many animes; only 1 or 2. I need to do that more, perhaps. The allure of new things is strong though.

Yeah, I just randomly encountered it at a local bookstore and I only found volume 1 sadly.

The ones I'd like to buy are the other asano works that I still don't have like Subarashii Sekai, Umibe na Onnanoko, Sekai no Owari to Yoakemae, Reiraku, and even get Dedede once it finishes. I'd die happy if I got them all :) Yotsuba to! is also something I would like to complete. Other than that I usually buy things out of novelty such as Haruka na Machi e, Opus, etc. which are usually some things I'm very surprised were available and I just had to snag them though it's gonna be a pain once it accumulates considering I don't have a shelf for them yet.

Yo, thanks for the friend request! Nope, I usually just buy licensed english manga since it's pretty useless if I can't read it, though the novelty is nice. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu is licensed by Kodansha USA so it's available in english but its under the title "Descending Stories" rather than its japanese title.

and imagine a god awful english sub to top it off... it would basically be a parody. the aiko stuff to be specific, yes. I get they both were severely broken people, but I wish that ending didn't have to happen to either of them. then again, they did essentially dig their own graves.

this is the number one reason to love cats: because they have total personalities of their own. each one is so unique. lillie sounds like such a cutie but definitely a handful... but it sounds like she really loves you if she loves causing you so much trouble ^^ mine love to hound me for food and cuddle (when they permit it)

I heard people say that you need to watch a lot anime to learn what you like, so I tried just about anything I could find. They forgot to add that part that it makes you grow bitter.. haha! But it did work; I know what I like.
