Short answer: It won't suddenly die, but it is starting to fail.
You should backup/move the data as soon as practically possible as bad sectors are almost always a sign of impending doom.

I heard some rumors about it, also about a movie... But you know how that goes.

The show had some great potential, but I think they might've ruined it with the excessive fanservice. I don't see anything officially stated about it getting a second season nor movie though.
